This brought back so many great memories of my childhood. It’s probably been almost 20 years since I last played this but I remember so much of this game. Someday I’ll figure out how to play it again on my laptop, but for now I’ll enjoy reliving my childhood watching video play-throughs.

@@ScreamQueen9 The black dot squares are also known as sticky squares. If you land on one, you have to wait until the same color candy is picked for each one.
17:02 alot of times if I happened to be playing this game in the Gingerbread Plum Trees, I would keep tickling him until he tells me to stop it, it was very funny!

I swear this game inspires me to this day. I'm pretty sure my desire to visit the Swiss Alps originated from the Gumdrop Mountain segment. There's something about that nearly surreal emptiness of this game that's so interesting. There's no one in town. What is up with that?

I'm sure I'm looking at this through huge nostalgia glasses but I feel like this game would still be fun to me even now and maybe even if I hadn't played as a kid. i love free creativity games like these! and the colors, sound effects and characters are really engaging. also the 3d parts are surprisingly really good looking? anyway, thank you!

My fiance had to kind of work the system and make it work because he's a computer genius but it might! I know it was Windows...probabaly Windows 95.
@@ScreamQueen9 lol it was satisfying enough to just reminisce while watching your play through. It would probably be very glitchy or laggy on a new computer

@@ScreamQueen9 the black dots mean that you get stuck and you have to stay until the same colored candy is chosen as it is on the black dot so say you landed on blue and it had a black dot on it, you would stay until a blue Candy is picked and that goes for the other colored candies that have black dots. Hope this helps.

From James: That's probably because your Windows version is too new. We used Windows XP running in a virtual machine (VirtualBox) and then mounted the virtual CD in the virtual drive. You might still have luck with running it in compatibility mode in newer versions of Windows.

What candies with black dots?
ScreamQueen the ones on the candyland path. The candies with the black dots are called sticky squares, and if you land on one, that means you’re stuck. The only way to get free is to get the matching color of the sticky square, if you get a different color, you’ll still be stuck and you loose a turn
