But after a while you start noticing how good it is to actually play with the rhythm. I calibrated it for my friend and he loves it. The calibration setting states the offset there between the music and the notes you have to tap. I don't remember if default was 0.00 or 0.05, but it's still wrong for any device. Okay, here's why you need the calibration: all mobile touch screens have input lag (the time it takes to your touch to actually register in the device). All of them have it different. By the way, iphones and ipads have lowest input lag, while android devices have more. So you have to compensate that delay by increasing that number in calibration setting. 0 would work for a device with zero input lag, so it's basically impossible to work with that setting. 0.20 would work for some input lag and 0.30 for higher input lag. I have calibrated a few devices and most of them are somewhere between 0.25 and 0.35. Try it. To test the calibration, pick a familiar piece with easy and exact rhythm. Now, most likely you have adapted to tapping by looking at the animation. But now you have to tap with the rhythm of the music. The best way to do it: go to a quiet place, don't use headphones. put volume on very low. Now, you can actually hear your taps on the screen while the music is on. You will miss notes but still just keep with the song rhythm. Look whether you miss the notes by tapping too early or too late. If you "should have tapped earlier" to hit the notes correctly, increase value. If you "should have waited a bit longer before tapping" while playing, decrease value. You'll get it right at some point. And when you get used to it, later you should look again at it, play some songs while paying attention to the rhythm and see if you usually get too early hits or too late hits and finetune it a bit. Unfortunately the songs in the game are different and have a bit different calibration. I have found that Evolution era and Mirror night are best songs for reference, most songs have calibration like them.
