Relative newcomer Trudge makes his 2017 statement clear with a warm, grainy, immersive four-piece on Dance Around 88. Lo-fi in all the right places, "Hooked On You" hits a deep latent funk in the broadsword bass and drums that relentlessly drive the message home while "Restless" is a brilliant fuzzy synth jam that's not dissimilar to early Border Community. Elsewhere we're spiralled into hopeful, almost-churchy chord surges on "Nostalgia Aeternam" and "Lonely Daze" hits every spot possible with its bold, heavily reverbed piano strikes and soft organs.
