Just to clarify some of the game question that mightve gone past unnoticed
"Soulsborne" refers to the games Demon Souls, Dark Souls I, II, and III, and Bloodborne. These games are all made by From Software. The category sometimes includes From Software's other games Sekiro and Elden Ring, though personally I prefer the more descriptive term "FromSoft games".
"Soulslike" refers to any game that is similar to or inspired by the Souls games, regardless of publisher. Usually this means it's an action game that is challenging in a way that focuses on player skill, and doesn't involve a lot of randomness or grinding.

If it wasn't for my internet provider being really dumb for some reason, I would have for sure watched the entire stream instead of just the small small bit I got to watch after the Wi-Fi came back on for just a second here. I really enjoyed the watching the vod to see what I missed out and hopefully on your next stream I won't have to watch the vod and instead be able to watch the stream live.
Oh and with games at least for me the best way to go at it is baldur's gate 3, Terraria, and monster hunter worlds currently or wait for monster hunter wilds for games that can be as chill or intense as you want it to be and Tekken 8 for an really intense game. For me chill games are mostly my gacha so I can't hold heartedly recommend them to well, but the ones I can recommend is Honkai impact 3rd and Honkai star rail. Both gacha games with really good stories that I am practically sure you will love.
For context as well about some the of the games I mentioned
Baldur's gate 3 is a heavily story driven game where your choices actually matter. It's based on the DnD system of play when it comes to its turn based stuff and all of that so with your experience on the one shot and season zero on DnD, you should be more than fine to jump into Baldur's gate 3 with no problem.
Terraria is basically 2d Minecraft if it was more inadept and complex in its system. I know you love wiki diving and that will help you a lot in this game because most Terraria players including myself basically have the Terraria wiki open on our second monitors to make sure what we are doing is right even tho we can probs do it without it, but well even without the wiki you can still play the game with no problem as long as you follow the in game achievements to or what I call the beginners to do list the first time to load up a char
Monster hunter is an open world-ish monster hunting game where you help biologist, ecologist, etc... via exploring the world and reporting back to them. So you can finally go on adventures yourself Miya instead of being behind the guide reception counter all day long with the pigeons.
Tekken 8 is a 3D fighting game with a really complex fighting system and bullshit go story that will pull at your heart strings while also making you question what is humanly possible.
Honkai impact 3rd, I honestly can't do it justice on how good its story is so I won't be talking about it here. But fair warning about its story, It kinda has a slow start and I can't speak for its second story. After the end of the first main story I have stopped because it did not feel right for me to go on because of how emotionally distorted I became after the first roller coaster of emotion the first story was. But well Honkai impact 3rd is just a 3rd beat 'em up game with a really good beat 'em up system that makes it hard to grow tried of its gameplay
Honkai star rail is a turn based strategy game that's similar to persona games and its story and interactions is akin to a space comedy that can and will get serious when it needs to with great story.

I love the souls genre btw! ^-^ there are kinda two categories, "Soulsborne"- which are souls games made by the original dev, Fromsoft (Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring), and then there's "Soulslike" games which are games that use a similar formula to the soulsborne games but are made by other devs(ex. Lies of P). As you mighta guessed, they kinda have a devoted (cult) following- and for good reason! 😅
If you really are new to these, the trend across all of them is one of benefitting from taking time to learn the attack patterns of the enemies; if you take your time at the start and learn the timing and patterns, you might get through these a lot faster in the long run and may even enjoy them! :p most folks that have trouble with these try button-mashing when they get close to enemies, which is fair, but also doesn't *always* work well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If you got this far, you can credit autism hyper fixations for this Souls TED Talk, ty for reading 😂
