Steve, in The first track, he said “some of una no dey get the message and that’s on Glo” it’s a sublime jab at Glo - a network provider in Nigeria known for terrible service. Their network is too poor and most times texts sent over their network isn’t delivered

So I finished everything... immediately I saw Steve's reaction, I ran out, got airtime and bought data... I know the amount of self control it must have cost you Steve to wait till the right time before reacting to this album, you're a legend. You made me appreciate rap more, and also made me an MI's fan again. I have been here since the Martel Cypher and Illegal music reactions, and you have never disappointed. Your genuineness and unbiased reactions no matter who the artiste is makes you one of the best reactors on this platform. You're unique. Your videos always brings out deeper interpretation to art, sometimes the artist did not even intend it, but it comes out from your understanding of the art, and that is mind blowing ,even to the artist you are reacting to their content
Sometimes it baffles me, on how you are able to figure a particular message or point an artist is trying to pass across, just at the beginning of the video without hearing it first,

    The Guy:
“Abinibi” is a yoruba language and it means “someone who was born with it” like talented.
“Gbegiri” is a type of soup from the Yoruba tribe also... and in Nigeria, when someone says you’re in soup it means you’re in trouble hence the reason he said “The whole game been in soup (trouble) like Gbegiri”
And Yeah; you’re right about the UK Drill thing
    Bigger:
Olamide pronounced OLA-MEE-DAY (aka Baddo) is actually a mainstream indigenous rapper who’s very good with hooks. Well, he’s no vocalist but he sings; similar to the way J. Cole does in his music too. He’s got mad Bars and Flows but predominantly in his native tongue and that’s the reason we don’t recommend him on this channel but know that he’s regarded as one of the greats in the Nigerian Music/Rap Scene.
    Soft life Tony:
The lyrics of this song (hook & verses) were made for Nigerians and Nigerians only. Believe me; there’s no Nigerian that would listen to this joint and won’t like it and the Tony was in reference to TONY ELUMELU (grind for Elumelu money). He’s the Chairman of Heirs Holdings (United Bank for Africa, Oil and Gas etc) and Transcorp ( Hospitality, Energy etc)
    The Front Door:
Duncan Mighty is Nigerian. He hails from PortHarcourt, Rivers State same as Burna Boy.
As long as I’ve known him, this has been his style. His music is one of a kind; cultural and soothing especially when you’re drinking palmwine on a beach
    Crazy:
Listening to this album is my first time of hearing Ossi Grace and I must say; I loved what I heard. This is the kind of song you play late at night and in the early hours of mornings. By the way, the producer is definitely Chopstixx ‘cos personally, he’s the only Nigerian producer that I know can pull off this hiphop shit with such ease
    P.S:
I hope you also do a score card reaction to AQ’s new project ETHOS ft Brymo (one of Nigerian’s foremost indigenous leading vocalist)... I won’t say much; just do it

Hey Steve, welldone for what you keep doing.
I have only watched you react up until track 3. Would be back to continue. But quick comments.
Some bars on Track 2 hit different if you had reacted to FAMILY FIRST - AQ. Secondly, on Track 3, Olamide (Four Syllables pronounced as OR-LA-ME-DE) only does the vocals as a singer on this track, but that is a Nigerian Rap Legend. Top 3 any day with MI and Mode9. And by impact and and especially commercial success, he trumps them and the whole industry by very far.
MI has huge respect for Olamide, who is also known as BADDO (BAD-OH)

    • @DarkshadeMusic

@@vicogbanje9931 Same thinking. Olamide really had impact and will be top 3 for commercial relevance. The other two being M and Ice Prince. If we stretch the list further, we’ll have(in no particular order): Naeto C, Vector, Ruggedman, Illbliss, Phyno, Eedris Abdulkareem, Eldee, Jesse Jagz, Terry da rapman, Tha suspect, Lil Kesh(arguably), Reminisce(arguably). These guys really brought something different to the commercial rap space and their output really left a mark on us.

MI Literally said he will buy 2 generators( in the front door song).....that's worth dating a man for honestly 😅 Like you don't want to be in the dark right? And you don't wanna go to the next street to charge your phone 😒. It's sad tho.
And Duncan mighty is a legend Steve.

Duncan is from Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He sings in pidgin and his local dialect. Duncan is an A-list artiste. Dude has had some major hits. I'm probably the only one who thinks he looks ands sounds like old time Reggae legend, Barrington Levy...

(Mid way through it) Been a minute big man, we appreciate all the work you put in Steve 👏🏿
Perhaps you write out some of the lines you didn't quite get, since you having him on tomorrow..he can share more light on em. That Canada line - there is a huge Nigerian community out there in Canada..maybe there's more to that line.
My fave line so far: stay dark while the bigger picture is developing...there is so much meaning to that line on many levels
