me too! I was very fortunate to share this time with him. We were scheduled for just 15 minutes and he stayed talking with us for almost an hour and a half!

John Graham Mellor, a great man of wise words that inspires me every day to just hear his voice in the songs .... Too bad it is no longer among us, but even so his legacy will always remain with the music and as a person, a role model all my life ....
I love him a lot ..... Joe never died, followed in the heart of many of your followers will remember you forever even though they have tended joy to meet you, as I :(

Superb interview. I worked in the UK music industry in the Punk years! Saw the Clash play at The Rainbow, Finsbury Park,London on 09.05.1977.
Many years later had an evening with just me and Joe at the Mud Club,. Never will forget him and that night. RIP JOE STRUMMER.

Married a girl to buy a guitar...isn't this the Gift of the Magi Rock N Roll style.
Shakespeare dimention, how great is that. Back in the day, without cell phones it was like a holiday anytime you weren't home, great sentiments Joe..RIP. ;)

It was an end of an era when he passed.. Like a lot of artists when they go.
London calling was my favourite track, such a powerful tune, unique

Hello! Great video, thank you for posting. Is it possible to see this footage unedited. I really enjoyed all the activity in the background and would love to see what filled the gaps between the edits, gestures comments etc. I think this footage is great, you feel like you’re at the table. Thanks again.

    0:56 The magnificent seven
    Ring! Ring! It's 7 A.M.!
    Move y'self to go again
    Cold water in the face
Brings you back to this awful place
It's no good for man to work in cages
Hit the town he drinks his wages
    You're fretting you're sweating
But did you notice you not getting anywhere?

I remember that era of London of squats in the 70s - literally rows of derelict houses in London all over that people like Joe Strummer squared for free, some even had electricity...that's the world that spawned Punk Rock!

Holy crap, April 4th 2002? That's 7 months before he died. You can see how he seems sickly here, so sad.

He doesn't look sickly. He died from a congenital heart defect which actually could have killed him anytime. RIP Joe.
