Wonderfully clear explanation. Whenever I'm not feeling inspired to actually produce a painting, I find that experimenting with mixing colours is time well spent, and fascinating too!
Another excellent video for me in mixing! Wow, I forgot the basics of color. I think I will stick to just the 3 primary colors and do more mixing till I feel more confident in my mixing.
I’ve been following many of your tutorials, thank you so much. In your later ones you seem to have changed to Windsor blue instead of Prussian blue. May I ask what your thought process is on that? I love your work!
Very interesting development of the color wheel. Of course, the part that makes this REALLY difficult is the years of working with these pigments so that your hand and your eye know exactly how much of each pigment you must pick up in order to get just what you want every time. Thank you.
are your colors dry? wet? just out of the tube? I wanted to see how you touch your colors..... But anyways, thanks for the video and your instructions
Really frustrating- all of how he handles water, gets fresh paint from palette, drying or wiping brush-none is visible. Almost everything he does except putting paint on paper is off camera. What’s missing is what I need someone to demonstrate. This could have been much more useful. Re-do?
This is the best training I've ever seen in mixing colors
Best lesson I’ve seen on color theory. In such a easy way to understand. Thanks
For me, a beginner in watercolor, this is an important to learn and practice. Thank You Prof. Chen

Thank you Yong Chen. I love colour mixing, and the way you explained it was cathartic

It seems he's using out-of-the-tube watercolors, from what the palette suggests.
No, he's using the primaries of the winsor and newton professional watercolours. It says so on his website.
How can I create Payne’s Grey?
