"Goodbye everybody I'm really sorry if I offended anybody"(hugs everyone) RIP Dana Plato

There are tons of actors (especially child stars) who fell on hard times and had a sad ending - but Dana Plato really hit a nerve for me. It was so sad - especially listening to her in her last 24 hrs. RIP, Dana Plato & her son (whom she clearly loved - who took his own life almost 11 years to the date of his mother's death).
That's right, and she did that other times. She was supportive, I don't recall Dana ever saying anything bad about the actors and friends on Diff'rent Strokes.
this should have been howard’s biggest regret not his robin williams interview. plus her son also later shot him self and i believe he was the one who found her dead. howard isn’t 100% responsible but i do think this show, especially the callers, and the whole drug test part- which was disgusting-led her to relapse/kill herself. she was obviously humiliated, triggered, and kept saying she was sick of having to defend herself and didn’t understand why these rumors were being said about it. So I can understand why she probably just wanted to give up after that. also she seemed lucid. she sounded like when i’m sober and get a little manic/excited , but she didn’t sound high. she was also pretty damn hilarious at times too, just sad all around. rip dana plato and your son.
she was acting a bit whacky, she also lied a bunch. The interview really wasn't that bad actually hearing it. It seems like she OD'd not killed herself.

R.I.P. Dana. I would agree that Howard Stern interview was directly responsible for causing Dana's death. He in fact, made a series of inappropriate comments and subjected her to a lot of cruel words & experiences that led her to end her life, because she was just tired of fighting so hard to survive on her own. When she died, Howard put forth a lie saying that he did not have her hair strand after all. Dana is no longer alive to refute that. Howard Stern has blood on his hands, both of Dana's and her son's. He really has a remarkable gift of taking away all joy and pushing someone down the deep end. Don't forget that she had had a rough childhood, her unwed teen mother gave her up when she was born, her adoptive parents divorced at 3, her adoptive mother put her on 100 commercials when she was hardly 9! She was in Different strokes and the one reason she got pregnant at 16, marrying early was so that she could have a family of her own (as shared with Conrad Bain). Her husband left her, took custody of her child and she lost her adoptive mother that same week. Can anyone even imagine how rough things might have been!! She was just trying to survive in a tough showbiz world, with literally no support system. After all, she was denied of a normal childhood, with no life skills training, with no healthy support system. Instead her life was constantly wrought with stress, uncertainty and authority figures who took advantage of her naïveté. An accountant she trusted her fleeced her of bulk of her savings and completely disappeared. She wanted to come back to showbiz but people exploited her youth and vulnerability, making her do playboy, B grade movies. She tried to rob a video store, but immediately afterwards, gave herself up to the police on her own. She was finally happy after years of struggle wanting desperately, to get closer to her vision of a happy family life, to get closer to her son, to get access to better A-grade shows, and had been hoping to share her story of hope & new found positivity. If you listen to her talk, she comes across as a sweet person with good values, who was just lost and wanting to desperately find her way back to normalcy.
No way. You can't blame Stern or anybody else for her death. She had issues and went down a bad road for a long time before this even happened. It's really easy to blame others for things, but the reality is that mental issues along with just life in general. It was just a sad, sad situation, as i think anybody to have someone in their life that kills themselves.
This interview has been so inappropriate on multiple levels. Howard Stern took away all her visions of hope and gave her a lot of psychological trauma, that was just too much for her to process. Dana was being constantly counter-questioned and being asked to prove herself again and again. She was being honest, owned up to her past actions and just tired of the continual badgering on her honesty. Howard Stern was impudent enough to ask her to "pee in a cup" and provide a hair strand (in fact kept pestering her and pulled out her hair on the live radio show, without her explicitly giving him consent to do so), he placed a coke in front of her and dared her to prove herself. Not one encouraging word or a kind comment to a poorly, battered soul. There were so many objectionable comments rapidly thrown at her: "lovely breasts, that's actually a compliment, you better agree", "can't believe you were sober for 10 years, you expect us to believe that?", obsessively focusing on lesbianism, "did you see Janet Jackson nude? did you share a dressing room", "how can you lose all that money", "you don't look close to death", " you are crying?!", "your fiancé must have good dough", "how hard it is to manage your career", "you are a 34 and wind up with a 28 year old guy", as though it's her fault. I hardly can call that as a positive interview experience. Howard responded to sympathetic callers as "this is very touching, thank you" and cut them off too quickly. He was disgusting enough to make her cry and then said, "why don't you sit on my lap and let me make you feel better". She responded politely to all rude callers and howard responded "oh you are sounding very religious Dana" "You have more controversies than me". He kept making her cry and did not apologize for his harsh treatment, not even once. The lady anchor actually commented that people were being hard on Dana, for Howard to stop, that this is a weird show (when Howard pulled off a hair strand), and why are people constantly attacking Dana. She was trying to be sympathetic and ask better questions, but Howard cut her off to push forward his own agenda of continually victimizing Dana again and again. There's a picture of Dana with her son 3 days before her death, but when she talked of spending time with her son, Howard seriously doubted that. It's really sad to see how he systematically broke her spirit down by the time the interview ended. She sounded so positive at first and then could barely speak towards the end, without crying. Ironically, Howard Stern asker her about suicide, asked her about overdosing, whether she really will be able to spend time with her son again, that she needs to be tested to verify her sobriety claims, and even made a weird statement like "it would be really weird to introduce someone on the show and then find out they are actually dead. My take: Howard Stern was enjoying himself, even as Dana got severely traumatized and irreparably scarred by her radio experience. Once she died, Howard threw away the hair strand, lying that Dana took it back after the interview.
That's a great story you wrote. But I just listened to it all and Howard claims he refused to give the hair back and only threw it away after she died. So your theory at the end is flawed. Did you listen or did you fall in love with your juicy gossip?

As far as I’m concerned those negative and cruel and downright disgusting callers should’ve been charged with manslaughter that is complete and total bullying maybe they didn’t directly caused Dana Plato‘s death but they had a hand in it yes it was just words but sometimes words can have more damaging affect than physical altercations. They need to take a look at their own backyards they weren’t in her shoes made Dana Plato and her son both Forever rest in peace.
This is so sad, all these fake callers and it was Howard’s plan of course. I’m sorry but he’s responsible. I’m in recovery and as a result of the people being so harsh in AA, I’ve seen people that were mocked and put down for not being able to get sober , end their lives.
Nice theory, but you don’t know Stern. Go back to your quest for sobriety and keep Stern out your mouth. Your comments conflict with your 12 steps. Focus.
Everyone knows the nature of the Stern show, it isn’t fair to blame him for her death when she was clearly going through it already & she willingly participated in the program at its peak.
Dana had been on the Stern show previous to this interview. Also taking a look at her autopsy report is a real eye opener. Her blood was positive for methamphetamine and morphine in addition to the drugs she overdosed on. Considering she passed on the next day it's no stretch of the imagination that she was flying on those things even as she was sitting in his studio.
The video and the radio broadcast do not match at all. I am really confused by the differences on how, if they were both live, there could be so many discrepancies.
I don't think it's a contradiction to say that, yes, Dana thanked the crew after the show but still had conflicting emotions about her appearance. If she was fragile, not in a good place at the time of the interview, of course that, one the one hand, she would have loved the attention she got that day on an important national show, but it's also obvious that the nasty callers and their judgemental comments hit her hard (she reportedly called her former mother in law crying, saying she'd never been so humiliated). I can understand these feelings co-existing.
well. artie attempted suicide and has never been back on the show again, artie said they talked once after and that was it. never heard from him again. and i think howard only discussed it the day after it happened on the show , but also flipped out on a caller when they asked him about artie etc. like full blown hateful yelling.
I can't stand stern but she killed herself. The same with that celina singer. When she got murdered they almost tried to blame him for that. She was depressed checked out plain and simple.
Wait a minute i keep seeing comments saying that howie told people ahe took back her hair strand but just said 45 minutes that he still has her hair strand and it doesnt need to be tested anymore🥴
There were many pictures of Dana Plato People magazine could have used for the cover of their issue regarding her death yet they chose a pic that objectifies her. Obviously they were more concerned with selling as many copies of the issue as possible than they were about covering the story of her death which in this case was exploited.
Yes, she was responsible to taking her ultimate action, but Howard Stern’s show’s actions absolutely precipitated it. He couldn’t have foreseen it, but he should’ve known he’d eventually be the catalyst for someone else’s harm,

No one would know who high pitch or beetle was without the show. If Dana didn't go on the show, odds are, this would have eventually happened regardless. She wasn't made for the life she craved and the world she entered.
The very fact that she had the painkillers and soma says that she was still using. She was a mess. Even without Howard.
@@lenhudson8194 that's all true. He let the callers unleash on her because he knew it would make good content. She wasn't a person that needed help she was simply another way to fill time.. now he's just another hypocritical , woke , mouthpiece. Has it never crossed your mind why none of the horrible things he did in the past all the horrible things he said the use of the n-word that he always lies about.? People get canceled for things they did 20 years ago. Why has no-one ever went after him? Anyway it's been fun it's been real I have to live my life and not worry about you defending one of the greediest bastards to ever walk the face of the earth. You win. I'm going to walk my dog
lol @ "does her kid look like gary coleman" 5:06
Lmao🤣
As far as I’m concerned those negative and cruel and downright disgusting callers should’ve been charged with manslaughter that is complete and total bullying maybe they didn’t directly caused Dana Plato‘s death but they had a hand in it yes it was just words but sometimes words can have more damaging affect than physical altercations. They need to take a look at their own backyards they weren’t in her shoes made Dana Plato and her son both Forever rest in peace.
She was a grown woman and went on Howard knowing full well what she was getting in to.
So you learned grammar in Uzbekistan.
Focus.
Nah.
@@signforu And you are an unimaginable pos. Rip to Dana.
"Fake callers"? You are that incoherent NOT on drugs?
Everyone knows the nature of the Stern show, it isn’t fair to blame him for her death when she was clearly going through it already & she willingly participated in the program at its peak.
If she cried, how was she supposed to know what she was getting into?
Dana had been on the Stern show previous to this interview. Also taking a look at her autopsy report is a real eye opener. Her blood was positive for methamphetamine and morphine in addition to the drugs she overdosed on. Considering she passed on the next day it's no stretch of the imagination that she was flying on those things even as she was sitting in his studio.
Sitting in his studio telling Stern she'd been sober for a decade.
They continued to clown her and laugh at her suicide after they caused it.
Howard Stern is a cruel, heartless person. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
No suicide it was a drug overdose
@@Brenda-Burd immediately after the interview that outed her as a lesbian drug addict when she was just about to get married
They caused it ? Lol. Crazy accusation
@@jupitershark2636 read the comment above you
Does anyone have the actual love video of this interview with her sitting in the studio I'm sure there is someone who has a copy out there
Would love to see it again.
I love to see it too
The video and the radio broadcast do not match at all. I am really confused by the differences on how, if they were both live, there could be so many discrepancies.
howard prb had it destroyed
@@darkenedroom7774 The video wasn't broadcast live
I don't think it's a contradiction to say that, yes, Dana thanked the crew after the show but still had conflicting emotions about her appearance. If she was fragile, not in a good place at the time of the interview, of course that, one the one hand, she would have loved the attention she got that day on an important national show, but it's also obvious that the nasty callers and their judgemental comments hit her hard (she reportedly called her former mother in law crying, saying she'd never been so humiliated). I can understand these feelings co-existing.
I wonder if Howard would've done the same if Plato was a member of his tribe...?
well. artie attempted suicide and has never been back on the show again, artie said they talked once after and that was it. never heard from him again. and i think howard only discussed it the day after it happened on the show , but also flipped out on a caller when they asked him about artie etc. like full blown hateful yelling.
Is not the HS shows fault. They asked questions about what is out there to be read. She didn't have to go on but kudos to her.
Exactly, the people blaming Howard are the same types who got offended that he didnt like Selena's crappy music.
The Howard Stern show is one gigantic reality show. I am sure they're all paid calls.
idk about paid, but callers would lie just to get on air
Uhuh.
Howard would never pay for calls
Good for Gary Coleman to admit to not having sex at 31. If it wasn't for the silly patronizing attitude to women he could have been the first mgtow...
I can't stand stern but she killed herself. The same with that celina singer. When she got murdered they almost tried to blame him for that. She was depressed checked out plain and simple.
How dare Gary be pissed at Jimmy Kimmel for sand bagging him on his show
Wait a minute i keep seeing comments saying that howie told people ahe took back her hair strand but just said 45 minutes that he still has her hair strand and it doesnt need to be tested anymore🥴
33:44 lmaooo Jackie
There were many pictures of Dana Plato People magazine could have used for the cover of their issue regarding her death yet they chose a pic that objectifies her. Obviously they were more concerned with selling as many copies of the issue as possible than they were about covering the story of her death which in this case was exploited.
the first caller 😂
Did they cause her previous attempts too?
Howard stern from his ivory tower in 2023 I guess forgot about all of the things he did. This being one of them.
Didn't you even listen to it? 😂
She died 1 day before mother's day, she had to had a bad Saturday, to make her use
Well, that's almost a sentence.
I love you Dana. So much.
But we all know where that money went. I just wish you had been honest on this show. Maybe things would be different.
You can sure tell the people here that didn’t actually watch or listen to this. 😂
I Swear E! Ran That Interview 1 Time ... They Never Aired It Again Is ThAt Mandela effect?
Yessssss
She's definitely an addict. Its sad to hear her pretend to be clean.
Yes, she was responsible to taking her ultimate action, but Howard Stern’s show’s actions absolutely precipitated it. He couldn’t have foreseen it, but he should’ve known he’d eventually be the catalyst for someone else’s harm,
Yes
It was all fully her responsibility and no one else's.
@@unfortunatebeam no.
I actually watched this guy a few time. Is he still on TV?
No
He passed away in 2010. He will be missed.
Just like Brandon, when she says "no joke", she's lying.

The money will roll right in should be dana platos theme song (Fang,Nirvana)
Howard PUSHED HER OVER THE EDGE!!!!! NOT JUST HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nope.
Love you Dana❤

Thanks for caring but It's too late love
Hey hope you’re not dead and still holding on. There’s always a chance to turn things around.
