Messed around with blend trees a year ago. As mentioned below: The official tutorial (direct blend trees) left me lost in rocket science. Endet up taking from Ethans (standart assets character) to get some satisfying results without getting the whole thing, but this one broke it down very well for me. thanks!
after spending like 2 hours making left right animations in blender the other day then I find this.. LOL exactly what I wanted to know, I only hand made the animations for turn left and right but now I will be able to do the rest of them alot easier. cheers

Awesome, now I start getting blend trees. Unity's official tutorial was too abstract for me.
Now how would you add in an attack animation, and go back to idle?

Found it finally(need to change the animation type to humanoid) but this video really helped me a lot thanks man
@@prasanths410 you can also set the root bone under the rig tab and hit apply. That way you can do the same thing to a generic rig.
