I'm so glad they got Derek Duke in on this one, this really reminds me of his Dragonblight and Skywall work. Super calm and ambient, just the way I like.
Best zone in BfA visually and musically. The story was really bad, but then again it’s BfA so you can’t fault it for that... I was so surprised to see Derek Duke take the notes that high. Most composers these days are too inept to experiment in higher notes. The peak of those voices is so excellent and it really makes the tumble down in notes work that much better. It blew me away the first time I heard it. The choir works wonders but it could not be pulled off without the base melody being stellar, which it absolutely is.
It was actually never used in game. Guessing they thought the organ didn't fit the zone. The C version wasn't used either, for whatever reason. The OST track also had another version, with some quiet synths which didn't even make it into the files.
They had no right to make it so sad 😭yet so beautiful
