Hey I just subscribed. I actually found you about six weeks ago. Love your videos. Don't hate me but I waited until you had 999 subs so I could be your 1000th sub XD. I'm hoping to open my own shop and go to artist alleys this year and I've learned a lot from you so thank you and looking forward to future videos

Ah I wish I watched this before I signed up to vend for their black history event this month. Hopefully it's a good experience.

I did something similar and never again lol. The mall they had the event didn’t even have common stores, it was mostly a food court with a bunch of skincare and jewelry shops. 90% of the people that were walking around were all grandparents and the only young people there were friends and family of the vendors. It was a two day event and I dipped out on day one and cut my losses lol

Sometimes we gotta make those judgement calls on when to just leave.

I'm sorry to hear that it didn't go as well as expected - but remember, every experience is a step toward something greater. Wishing you better days ahead, and I hope things pick up in the new year. Enjoy your holiday and well-deserved break! 🌟

Thank you! I'm a firm believer in trying any and all events to better form an opinion on whether it's good for you or not. Everything is a learning experience!

Ah I’m so sorry you had a lackluster experience. There is an artist I follow who lives in the UK who did something like this (but she vended for the entire week-I would die) and had a similar experience, lots of long hours with not much profit to show for it after taxes, table costs and the place she did it took a commission too!
I think malls in general are just a relic of the past and I can’t remember the last time I’ve been there to go shopping. It’s sad for all the businesses who rent there too, but I think if malls want to drive people in they need to do something unique or have something other than shopping.
I usually go to discount places or like outlets where everything is its own store outside. I also love little markets too, but I admire you for trying this. I would get frustrated after the first day 😅

Malls are 100% hit or miss. We do have some malls where I live that are SUPER busy all the time. This wasn't one of them and it was actually one of the outlet/discount malls. Folks there were mainly there to shop for gifts from the discount stores so I totally understand.

@@singlesplootoh that’s cool you have malls that are still packed. Where I am they’re all dead, but our outlet places get packed and busy.

My friend and I were vending here, too. And trust me, you weren't the only one who didn't do well. We barely made tables back. And we had multiple other vendors that stated they did quite badly. From what I remember, the only people that I knew did very well were the people selling funko pops.
I'm am glad you came cause I was able to get a sticker from you and I love your art. But at the same time, I'm sorry you didn't make as much as you hoped. I hope I get to meet you again at another convention that your doing better at.

TYSM for stopping by! Everyone has different standards for good & bad when it comes to events. Overall I did decent for this event at the end of the day but the long long silent hours didn't really make me feel any better.
Hopefully our paths cross at another event soon!
