Some ppl wash panties every time they bathe the vagina is a sensitive area and some ppl practice not letting underwear sit and build up in a basket or wash bin like outer clothing ……saying that to say in some hospitals if not all sheets that get dirty with blood or feces is Rinsed out immediately then taken to the laundry to wash the same day ……. I think reusable pads should be washed ASAP

I had a problem with bamboo once, too. I would never suggest it.I suggest cotton. The ones made by Glad Rags. I've had for almost 8 years. They look like new

I’m a little older, so I don’t need to use them often anymore. I would store them open (unsnapped) in an open wet bag until end of cycle. I would rinse them until they rinsed clear right before putting them into the wash. I think it’s better to let the air get at them rather than soaking them for a long time. However if you have flies coming in your house, I can see how that could be a problem. Sometimes they could develop a metallic odor due to iron in blood, but if I sprayed a little peroxide on them, it would go away. Peroxide is also good for removing stains. I’m sorry that happened to you.

Thank you so much I really love the concept of them. I am still using the liners and I wash then out right away. I have no issues with them. I want to try the pads again and I will definitely try the methods u gave. Thank u so much for ur feedback. Pls do check out other great videos on the channel and share the channel. I'm a single mom starting all over in a new state and sharing my journey of making a fixer upper my home...subscribe if u enjoy

@@CPR4THEBODYlivingaenrichedlife Good Luck with your fixer upper, your pads and your flies! Seriously though, I've heard from a few people on utube that their pads started to smell really bad because they were soaking them for days before washing them in the machine. I'm guessing that microbes are multiplying in the dirty water and causing the bad odors.

Thanks for sharing. I do sew my own and out all the different fabrics i love cotton cuz they feel dry and on dose hot Summer days it feels cool. I do use tide and oxy clean and if there is a bit of smell i know is time to sanitize then so i use a bit of bleach on one full wash then one more wash to make sure all of them are 100/100 clean. Hope you find the right pads for you and your needs.

Yikes. Thank you for this video! I'm new to using reusable cloth pads and I had no clue that this could be an issue, but it makes sense! I've been trying to decide the best storage option for holding dirty pads until wash day and I was going back and forth between wet bags and mesh laundry bags. This video has made me make a solid decision for the hanging mesh bags with fine mesh and a zipper so flies can't get in. I think the mesh (and the handle so it can hang) will help circulate oxygen so maybe it will prevent any smells that may happen.

Great idea on the mesh bag. I literally was disappointed about this happening because I loved these and the concept!!

Omg what? I found your other cloth pads videos. I am almost 2 years on cloth. I use biokleen, oxiclean sanitizer powder and laundry vinegar. Sundry them. I'm so shocked this happened to you. I do not fasten them just fold and open bucket dry store

I still use the panty liners but I have been using L pads. I do not miss the cleaning of them but I have never used the biokleen. I will look into it. Tfw have a great day.

Because you supposed to wash them right away or soak them

Maybe it's the material. Maybe after a certain amount of time you need to get rid of them and get new ones. I make my own with one hundred percent cotton with the pul fabric to prevent leakage. And just think you can soak clothes and don't have this problem...so it must be the certain material. See if you could make your own.

I saw a few of your recent videos and I see you was using bamboo pads. I think you should stop using them and use cotton.
