Michelle was a fan of Wilco before Japanese Breakfast, I can tell she's really enjoying this moment.
You can see the elation on her face and an ineffable look of gratitude as she realizes that she's totally pulling it off with one of her heroes. So happy for her and all of them.
This was the most beautiful moment of the whole pitchfork weekend. I was in that crowd weeping a little bit. Jeff Tweedy's voice just gets me man

Cannot believe this -- just finished Crying in H Mart and Let's Go (So We Can Get Back) simultaneously and was so struck by how their family stories bore striking resemblances. And here they are. Music is magic.

everytime i sing this song out loud, i always sing a key higher in the chorus to harmonize with the original vocal--it's so awesome to hear Michelle doing it here, live!

Regardless of which performance of this song I listen to, Tweedy's command to "don't cry" will always elicit the opposite response. For some reason, this song will always remind me of loves lost.

I love Wilco, this song, and Japanese Breakfast, but man Michelle Zauner is _really_ failing at harmonizing here.

she’s got some off notes but it’s mostly fine. she’s kind of fumbling around the chords too, so it could be this was a kind of impromptu thing.

Is it me or is the singer in Japanese Breakfast just not that good? I feel like this is a missed opportunity to sing harmony with Jeff Tweedy and they just kind of sang along out of rhythm and an octave up.
I was hoping for some harmony as well. It is what it is. 🤷🏻♂️
Most of Japanese Breakfast’s songs are in that octave, guessing it’s just a habit for her voice
Actually, Michelle is not a very good singer, having got a unique vibes though.
Her singing is definitely her weakest trait, she can pretty much only hold a top line in live performances. To be fair, singing is only one of the things she does in the band, because she’s also playing multiple instruments and more or less solo writing most of JB’s songs, co-producing, etc.
It's not just you. She has a very reedy untrained voice. That said, undeniably talented songwriter and passionate performer. Pick your battles on which you prefer
A wonderful song and one of Tweedy's best... but I'd have rather heard Michelle sing the lead on it. Oh well, maybe she'll do it in one of her sets.
