Bird was "my player" from the time he entered the league. But Joker has moved passing to the next level. The result is winning. Bird only cared about the W, not the stats. In 1986 for 26 games straight all 5 starters for Boston scored in double figures. Team play at its finest. During that time I am sure Bird's stats suffered, but the "W" kept coming. I am certain that he would bring the attention to himself simply so the rest of the team could could concentrate on playing, not the media. I like Danny Ainge, but he would not be in the Hall of Fame without Bird. Great GM, and all that, good basketball brain, but not a HOF caliber player without Bird. I expect to see a lot more of Joker in the future making fools of the defense around him.
