Seahawks fan here man broke my heart what Russ went through in Denver, Happy for all he's success with the Steelers ain't gonna lie I been watching all he's games with y'all. I still have he's nike Elite jersey
Respect to you, man. That’s really nice to feel that way about the guy. He def got a raw deal in Denver. Hapless Hackett coaching year one. And Payton (who didn’t want him) coaching year 2. I’m glad you guy have the resurgent Geno taking snaps for you. I think you will win the West. Good luck to you. 🎉 gotta admit, “he’s” instead of “his” 3 times is kind of killing my brain 😮
One thing I'd like to note is how much and how well Russ is throwing from and staying in the pocket. His entire career, people have used the (statistically false) narrative that he can't throw from the pocket. Now, no one is mentioning how well he's throwing from the pocket.
Russ at one point up til about his Y5 in the league had a higher passer rating from in the pocket than outside of it. Russ has always been deadly from the pocket, and he has always been able to throw over the midfield too.
I had a dream last night ,that had the Broncos and Shawn Payton coming to Pittsburgh in the Divisional round. The Big Screen kept showing the video of Shawn P. Yelling and screaming at Russell. In fact they showed it every time Russell threw one of his 5 touchdown passes in my dream. 😂. I hope this dream comes true.😉😎
If Russ ever gets to face the Broncos, Sean Payton’s only chance of winning is to put a bounty on Russ. And the Steelers can easily get into the frenzy’s heads by laying down the law: “one dirty hit on our QB [Russ] and yours [Bo] will pay for it!”
@@ChaseDanielShowthe fact the Steelers are 10-3 ontop of the afc north with a qb getting paid the league minimum who’s a future HOF . Is just insane lol
I went to Penn State, but I was still a fan of yours at Mizzou. It was the best time for Missouri football in my 35 years of being a football fan. Thanks for the great memories 🎉.
… Last sack play was smart. He intentionally evaluated the clock and risk management. They would’ve rathered the clock/timeout burn than an incompletion.
That first ball is totally catchable. Russ is quite conservative when it comes to risk assessment. Especially given the field position on that particular play. He will put the ball where ONKY his WR can get it. If that was George Pickens or maybe another receiver that he has good chemistry with, that play gets converted. He put his trust in Scotty Miller (I think) and he didn’t do what Russ wanted him to do. I’ve seen him make that throw time and time again. Courtland Sutton, Tyler Locket, Doug Baldwin. Many many times
What impresses me most about Russ is how well he fits into the team. Before, I only knew the image the media painted: an aloof superstar who brings the wrong kind of attention to Pittsburgh. I was wrong and the scene in Hardknocks when we beat the Browns underlined that for me: After the Freiermuth touchdown, Russ came to the bench and shouted "Muuuuutttthh" with the fans. Great guy, he's one of us. Go Steelers!
Mike Williams definitely still has it, i think Tomlin put it best and said some guys come in and it just clicks and they find a home on the team, that just hasn't happened yet with him. Tbh wouldn't shock me if the Steelers are under utilizing williams so that come playoff time they can catch people off guard with some of the these "all go" plays and man beaters. Cause right now the rest of the league thinks mike Williams is in the dumpster, but that can vhange very quickly in the 4th quarter of a game if you call a single high safety and now have pickens and Williams on opposite sides of the field.
Love the breakdowns, Steelers all the way, but there is no y in Freiermuth. It's not Freiermyuth, it's Freiermuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuth.
Yes! The play calling has been pretty good this year, but the first half of this game…. Just no. We weren’t giving Russ any easy check downs, especially on 3rd and short. Granted. His decision making in the first half could have been better. But the play calling didn’t make it any easier in him. Coaches gotta put their players in position to make plays. That simple.
Russ takes that sack on the last play to keep the clock running and take away the possibility of a comeback. Seems silly butif he throws an incompletion there clock stops. Smart move by russ to eat the sack in that situation.
Jefferson situation: Don`t understand why this guy still rumbling and stumbling over the field. It drives me crazy to see him dropping balls or cut right into the defenders with nothing but green grass in front of him at the Cinci game. I know Mike Williams isn`t the same since his injury. But we saw it against the Browns: He`s still ten times better Jefferson ever was. Hope Tomlin and Arthur Smith realized it now. When Pickens is back we need Mike on wr2.
Just keep watching. The only way rw wins is if he has everything absolutely perfect, there's a reason why two superbowl winning head coaches let him walk
Perfect like having your #1 wr out a hour before game? Or perfect like coming in behind your back up who was 4-2? Or perfect like having to play in the AFC north? It’s a reason why he’s a Super Bowl winner.

That’s great mean great to have you . Maybe stay awhile 😂
I'm hoping Broncos get a wildcard spot and have to come play against Russ in Pittsburgh. 😂😉😎
@John-xf4wp yup.
He would light them up.
And make sean payton look like a fool.

Great comment man, he has been a godsend for our Steelers. We have always been built very similar so it seems like a perfect fit.
Jalen Warren is the best pass blocking running back in the NFL. No RB compares to this guy when it comes to pass blocking

Haters always quiet on the success

Russ is playing with great anticipation, really greal accuracy and thats what it takes to win big games in the NFL.
He’s definitely been cooking 🧑🍳 I can’t believe how some ppl didn’t see this in Denver last season sure he had mishaps but 26 & 8 is good qb play
He’s been insanely good

He's playing great and the team is united the boys aren't messing around this year

Another fantastic video. Always look forward to your breakdowns.
Appreciate you, man!
It was definitely windy. I like the short dump off to Najee in that short situation.
Would love to see a Jalen Hurts breakdown after he plays the steelers. Loved this one!
Russ just wants to be the best captain he can be
We are winning the Superbowl! 🖤💛🖤💛
Maybe. But only because the League isn't an authentic game. Be happy the Rooney's are J's.

That's exactlyscenario's going to catch someone by surprise soon.

Pickens was ruled out the day before. Original game plan included Pickens

🔥🔥
The third play wasn’t even close to pi if you watch close up

Yet neither of the teams those coaches won Superbowls on kept them 🤔
Is it the same reason the Pats moved on from Brady? Because, as you imply... teams only move on from qbs that aren't good; no other reasons
Really cuz he had 300 yards and a td in a blizzard 2 weeks ago and got the team back ahead and then the defense and punter blew the game
Russ stayed on the team damn near ten year after the Super Bowl lmao
