Booked mine at Ludhiana for 22.15 on road, I did lot of research and took this decision and after having Polo for last 8 years, I couldn't like any other brand's quality. Cars considered and cancelled because:
Seltos: 19.50 for dual tone GTX DCT on road with no discounts, cancelled.
Civic: Interiors didn't feel like 20 lacs car, doors were at par with Honda City. CVT was a disappointment for 23+ lacs car.
Harrier: Best in this class but fit and finish needs work
City: Didn't had rear wheel well cladding, scream cheapness
Creta: New Design gave me headaches
Vento: Don't have 6 airbags
Compass: Poor sales don't encourage to invest in JEEP
What T-Roc that other cars don't:
- Euro NCAP 5 stars safety
- Tank like build and flawless fit/finish
- Better length and width than Creta/Seltos. Height is lesser in T-Roc
- It looks like Audi Q3 and actually build on Q2's platform
- Quality is unmatched, things like underbody metal protection, 6 years paint warranty, 12 years corrosion warranty is missing in other brands
- 4 years standard warranty
- Heap of safety features including lane assist, front sensors, frontal crash warning and heated side mirrors.
- Digital Cockpit
- Panaromic sunroof is great
- 1.5 TSi motor with DSG is still a combo that Koreans can only dream of. They do have a DCT but yet to master it.
What it misses/cons:
- 360 camera
- Powered front seats
- Soft touch materials should have been there in the interior
- Grab handles in the inside are little flimsy
- Rear space is average
- Pricier by 2 lacs for what it offers
- Future parts availability is a gamble

If this car was launched at 12-15 lakhs... It would be selling faster than a hot pani puri in a crowded market 😂. To bad they imported this vehicle, instead of doing local manufacturing
They imported it, thats why atleast some lucky guys are getting to experience this. Once VW decides to bring this car on make in India basis, there will be so much cost cutting that it will be a shadow of what a beast of a car it is now. VW makes some of the best cars. It's a shame they have a step-motherly treatment towards the Indian market. All this while Suzuki and even new entrants like Kia capitalise.
The indianized version of this car is the Taigun. It cuts corners and will sell like hot cakes cause Indians just want a good deal instead of actual quality products.
@@dhirajbhat4021 Yup. But, we can't really blame "Indians" in general. After all, a car is still just a means of getting from point A to B. A car that runs long, is reliable, and has a dealer that provides good service at reasonable cost - these are the exact reasons why Maruti and now even hyundai are the stallions of sales. People trust them.
As for quality and safety, it wears off after a while. For example how many people have you seen that have a 10-12 year old VW Polo? How many Ventos' are still surviving? Not many. Reason: Ridiculous service prices. Not to mention the unavailability of it. In some places in delhi, you will find that people still drive 15 year old Wagon-r s and Santros. They still run pretty good, albeit noisy. This ecstatic drive for quality and safety only exists in youtube comment sections😂.
Not to mention, the resale value of these cars is quite low. VW thinks people value their heritage in India, but in reality there are very few customers who care about the build quality of their car after first week of purchase. They do care about Customer care, which almost all brands lack. It's funny how people bashed MG for being Chinese. But now, it boast some of the best numbers in the market with a strong product lineup. The Xiaomi of cars. When it entered India, VW was a lion. Now it's a wounded cat licking it's wounds while purring in the corner. Sad.
@@themis6905 yeah I agree about the generalization part. It's more of a majority though. But I come from the school of thought that it is much better to buy a 'pre loved car' than a brand new one cause of the needless taxes and surcharges that are added to the already high price of a new car. Also, most cars are capable of running upto 2 lakh kms with manageable service costs. You can find cars within a year old for at least 2-3 lakhs less than ex showroom pricing. So when looking in the second hand market, I always prioritize build quality over popularity or resale value of a car. I can blindly trust a 10 year old Skoda/VW even. Certainly cannot do the same with a Maruti/Hyundai. Add the fact that Europeans cars generally have better active safety as well so you'd be avoiding more accidents. What bothers me is that european manufacturers are lowering their standards for the indian market instead of cumulatively lifting the standards of the indian car market.
@@themis6905 also on the off chance that you meet with an accident (this is India after all; highest rate of road accidents in the world), wouldn't you prefer a car that's sturdy and built well instead of the tin cans that the Marutis and Hyundais are?
When he got out of reverse gear the car showed front guidance. So it may be possible to enable rear guidance as well.
The first moment I saw T-Roc, I fell in love. What a design and I'm happy that faisal khan really appreciated the performance. If I hv 26 lakh now, I would get this beast

Good part of hidden Reverse camera is that it doesn't get dusty amd Mudded during regular driving through dusty and muddy roads, rain etc

Was eagerly waiting for this review. As always great review from Faisal Bhai.
I had a chance to test drive this vehicle few days back. The engine and ride quality seemed much better than Seltos and creta. The automatic drive quality is really very smooth and polished. The infotainment system is cool. Vehicle seems to have a really good build. Few features are missing which the Koreans are using to distract the people but let's ignore them.
But but but, the space inside is really really less. The vehicle looks good from outside but the inside makes it look really compact. Seltos and Creta have a lot of room inside. Troc has small seats in the front and believe me the rear seat is meant for just 2 adults. There is a huge partition in the middle which will not let the third person seat in the middle- at all. You will really get upset by this. I was like - everything is perfect, let's now complain about the price, but what to do of the less space?
Had this vehicle been priced below 20 on road, it would have sold like no one else. Don't know why Volkswagen decided to go with at least 2-3 lakhs more! They probably don't want a lot of their cars to be seen on the road.
Really appreciate your focus on car exhaust.

The best looking compact SUV in India. Everything is VWIsh. Being CBU, we get the good bits like bigger tyres, rear discs and an even better build quality. Almost all VW cars are brilliantly Engineered cars. This is such a beautiful looking car from every angle. Another league for sure. Super awesome performance too. I love this car. Mind-blowingly supremely awesome fabulous fab fab review.

Pricey but the fun it delivers is priceless..is it?
That emergency collision alert is now turned of in my car because my parking ramp has a steep incline and it always thinks it gonna hit into something and suddenly rams the breaks, however it also works in reverse which is honestly surprising. However I do feel automobiles like these are better off as CBU’s and if it was something like every other automobile in the space it wouldn’t sell much but as it gets the exclusivity factor people are ready to pay the price.
If VW had launched the manual, i would have loved it.

There should be a variant without sun roof. It would've amazing. Everyone doesn't need sunroof. In my opinion, it is a waste expense which people usually dont use and never prefer to pay unnecessarily. I will buy it immediately when a variant comes without sunroof.
