I too have been a healthy eater for my entire life - and in June 2022 was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer - thank goodness for plant based meals - my treatments are going well and my goal is to live out my life as I’ve done for 79 years - eat well, exercise, and enjoy every moment 🙏 this not an easy journey - but doable 💞🙏💞

I greatly appreciate Allison sharing her story. I'd like to add that men can get breast cancer too. My father had four different kinds of cancer in his lifetime: skin, breast, prostate, and kidney. It was the kidney cancer that got him in the end. I have stage IV cancer (not breast cancer). My cancer has that same HER2+ marker that can be found in breast cancer patients. This was fortunate for me since this meant that there was a treatment that they could offer me. I follow a whole food plant based diet. It greatly helps me tolerate my chemo with minimal side effects. I never did lose my hair even without the cold cap treatment. It did thin out greatly but is growing back. Best of luck in your fight!

It's very encouraging listening to you as I am half way through my chemo of 8 cycles. I do believe diet is No.1 in getting through successful as far as it can take you in cancer or any other health issues.
Attitude and being positive most of the time,no doubt when I am to my self it gets emotional but have to live with it and turn positive with music, dancing alone and thinking of my family support all the time and friends. Very important in my case, I have taken to my own cooking and diet I need to learn more. I always try to let my expressions, voice and words be very positive (first week was difficult but now very happy ) accepted hair loss at 64 and proud and enjoying taking selfies of my new look, I try to go about my normal life yes energy levels are low, getting better.
THANKYOU. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR YOUNG FAMILY

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I am almost 100% raw vegan whole food plant based with lots of cruciferous veggies, too. I ordered a broccoli sprout kit over a year ago, but have procrastinated actually setting it up (thinking what I'm doing is enough). But maybe now I'll actually start growing some and eating them. I'm sure you and Chuck know about eating a small amount of raw cruciferous with your cooked cruciferous, but perhaps some listeners should research the best way to cook and eat broccoli. I am keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.

2015 article title: Oxalate induces breast cancer. "We found that all tested breast tumor tissues contain a higher concentration of oxalates than their counterpart non-pathological breast tissue. Moreover, it was established that oxalate induces proliferation of breast cells and stimulates the expression of a pro-tumorigenic gene c-fos." Notice how it says all tested, not some, or might, or maybe or perhaps, or sometimes, but all. What foods are highest in oxalates?

Fasting during chemo also makes tumor cells more vulnerable to chemo induced oxidative radicals since fasting itself increases oxidative radicals in the tumor cells but not normal cells, resulting in more dead tumor cells.

The Fasting during chemo seems to be absolutely key and def not placebo. Dr Eric Berg conducted an interview with a French guy who lives in the US and he fasted before his chemo and then also did not fast and he said he was “as sick as a dog” when he ate. Please pass this super vital information on to others.

I would have done water fasting for at least 10 days immediately after diagnosis and before surgery. I would not be concerned about weight loss. It might have slowed progression and if so delayed or postponed surgery. If not, then after surgery I would have considered metabolic therapy as recommended by Dr Thomas Seyfried.

I had this exact cancer and reconstruction in my mid thirties so similar age. I am now 55 and I have just developed two different types of breast cancer in my reconstructed breast. I have been told that some dodgy cells must have got left behind in the skin (20 years ago). I am being told I need another mastectomy and skin grafting. Very upsetting to be going through it all again,, and the surgery and treatment being recommended seems very extreme. I am just about to try a long fast whilst I am deciding which surgery I am going to have. I would prefer not to have any!

In terms of longevity, when diets which include processed meats or fish only diets are stratified within the study population, vegans show little to know advantage in longevity (not cancer specifically). However, keeping IGF-1 is important and I regularly have my doctor check my IGF biomarkers to make sure I’m on the low side.

In all fairness maybe the vegan diet isn’t as healthy as they say. We need to look at countries like Japan and Middle East where cancer rates are really low and longevity is the norm. Also estrogen driven cancers should require one to not eat high glycemic index foods- (in fact go low carb) which you cannot do on a vegan diet.
In my humble opinion it’s about eating a well balanced diet, avoiding alcohol, avoiding seed oils, avoiding fragrances, synthetic perfumes, dyes and detergents, plastic in our clothing, fasting regularly, avoiding processed foods, eating at home and having physical activity, having a meaningful supporting community and God.
My prayers and wishes for her to heal soon and come out stronger.

Let me guess - they talk about everything but the elephant in the room - that the incidences of cancer in people who just got stuck with the 'carrot' (I can't say the real word because I'll get flagged) has gone through the roof. She got the carrot because she works in health care, right? It's impossible to take these people seriously because they don't ever talk about the real cause of what's happening with cancer rates in the past year.
