Because I am thinking of visiting Ecuador & other places in Central America with mom who's got mobility issues . So,that helps & I'm excited about planning our trip there !!! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

Again, You Go Girl! I am arriving in Cuenca in 4/2025, alittle time to learn my Spanish. I could be your grandmother and am nervous about my travels. If I can live in NYC for 20 yrs and be street smart, maybe I can conquer Cuenca? your solo travel is inspiring.

Thanks, great video. Your hostel experience is scary!!! I'm female, older, but moving to EC, '23. Keep my info and get in touch. I dont know size of place I'll have but there is always a couch or your own bedroom/bath. Be safe. oh, I have a portuguese water dog thats 6. He's funny. I'm a terrible cook. Eating out, finding nutritious meals looks to be easy in Cuenca. I Make alot of juices. Do your own thing and have a safe place to stay. I had a near horrible stay in Michoacan MX, years ago. It rattles you and stays with you despite being a positive person. Safe travels. Have fun. You have a delightful free spirit , sense of adventure.

Thanks for watching! Yeah, I've decided private rooms and hotels are best for me while traveling. I felt safe in Cuenca, and I'm excited for you in regards to your move to Ecuador. Have you decided on which city you are moving to?

You're a lovely young lady. Please pass along my appreciation to your parents. They did an awesome job.

I’m in love with the Panama hats. Do they provide a box for travel or should I bring my own? And thank you for sharing❤️

The company should provide a box for your hat. The boxes at the factory I went to were pretty big. I've seen videos that show how to fold the Panama hat down to fit into a tube or slender box. So that's an option if you don't have much space for a big box.

Hi! I’m Ecuadorian and the true so called Panama hat is made in a different part of Ecuador, in the Manabi province in the coast. The town is called Montecristi, you can see the artisans hand making the hats. They do provide boxes for the hats. In Cuenca they also make it but Montecristi is the original place.

It's not the source of the water that makes it potable, it's that it's treated.

Was Quito safe when you visited? I am planning on a trip to Quito but the warnings online about the increased crime rates is a bit scary!

Yes I felt safe and I enjoyed my visit. I was in Quito for 2 months. I actually have a video on my channel about my overall experience in Quito, here’s the link… ua-cam.com/video/NS5EuuNytzQ/v-deo.html While I was there I did see posts in the Facebook groups warning other foreigners about walking around at night. I don’t walk around at night and I stayed in a busy area so I didn’t have any problems.

I’m traveling to Cuenca in a few weeks. What was the fashion like?

Cuenca is a small town, so most people wear casual clothes. It gets cold at night, and the weather is very unpredictable. Definitely take a jacket and an umbrella just in case.
