Cool song, but my favorite song that Mike sang lead on is "You Just May Be The One". Like I said, most of the songs Mike sings lead on sound too country and western. I'm still desperate for an enhanced version of "Your Auntie Grizelda"!
So you are desperate for that one are you? OK tell you what I bring it up and take a look at it today and see what it might need. You have to realize that not every song needs to be enhanced and I have to be a little like ?Merlin The Magician" to pull off some of these recordings. I sure like the Monkees though so lets see what I can so. It's one I have never made an enhanced version to date! Kenn
Nice job as always. If you put this much effort into redoing a Monkees song then I am curious what plans you have for Sweet Young Thing, since you said in that description you felt it was rushed thru and you planned to re-edit it again.
I wish I could have done each one right the first time but that was impossible because the only way to perfect this hobby is to spend thousands of hours doing it. I could have used some real coaching from people who are better at doing this then me but the responsibility of doing this has fallen largely on me. I get so many requests it's impossible to do half of them. The only thing I do want to do in the future is to keep making and redoing (replacing) enhanced versions with exquisite attention to detail and never rushing any recording project until I'm sure I can't make a better enhanced version that the current one I'd be uploading. The audience has grown more than I would have believed at over 8 million so I have a vested interest in providing lots more goodies for the fans and it's fun too.. I always circle back to the Monkess from time to time cause there are still more I haven't done. When you mentioned "Sweet Young Thing" it's a difficult job to attempt to enhance any song cause I simply don't know what has to be done to make it sound better and do it without defacing the original. I don't save the multitrack projects of the songs just the backtrack sessions so if I redid "Sweet Young Thing" it would have to be a complete new multitrack version like I did with "The Door Into Summer"!
8 Million? Wow. UA-cam only mentions 9.4k Subs, but I guess there are more that listen but haven't subbed. I do recall you mentioning around this time last year that you had planned to retire in July (2017) and that you had planned to spent more time to your projects. Has that changed or has something kept you from your passion? I understand all too well about being a perfectionist in the things you do. I am the same way with me graphic design projects. I go as far as manipulating at the pixel level to get just the right look of an image. I am surprised that you don't save your projects, especially if you know you'll probably be going back to them later on. As for Sweet Young Thing, what you did sounds great. I was just curious as o what all you would do to it that you felt needed improving. That's all. And if you need input of how things sounds,, I;d be glad to help. You know I have a relatively good ear for how things sound, for example when you first uploaded You Told Me enhanced and I gave you suggestions on possible improvements and you tried them and it worked. IF you need input. just let me know. Otherwise I am pretty sure that the majority of your audience think you are doing just fine without the need of a professional studio behind you.
Two things I don't get much of are subscribers and "thumbs up" and most people I assume either just forget or don't take the little time to d it. Yeah I retired back in September (it takes 2 months) from your birthday to get the first check if your birthday does not fall on the first week of that month. I'm enjoying the hobby of making these enhanced versions because I would not have any reason to play my guitar otherwise since I don't play in a band anymore. It not only gives me the incentive to keep playing but the challenge of figuring out how to enhance each recording artist and it seems to be getting better as I go along. Sweet Young Thing by the Monkees is one of those songs that I have to sit back and listen to it a few dozen times and experiment with what instrument would be be used and whether it be laced on the left or right channel. It's a fine line between adding things without defacing the original! Kenn

This song is great but the story it tells is missing a final, third verse. It needs closure.Mike Nesmith left it incomplete somehow.
