One of my favorite Kirstin leads! I agree, you can't help but sing it, so catchy! Love their original stuff! Can't wait for The Promise by Superfruit! It's a cover of the group When In Rome's original. The original was released in 1988! Superfruit invigorated this song! Thank you for your reaction!
You like what you like! There is no explanation for what connects to YOU….it just does. I actually think I like the live one better because I like the water dropping in the background visuals just as the beat hits, but this is one of my favorites, for sure. And I vote for The Promise.
Great reaction! This song is from their first original self-titled album, which came out in 2015. It topped Billboard top 200 (which was (and still is) a sensational success for an original a cappella album), and became multi-platinum. That album is so great, could you react to 'Ref', 'To the River', 'Na Na Na', and 'New Year's Day' from that album? Thank you. :)
@@ptxweekly5268 🎼To the River ua-cam.com/video/V0wF3rY6VZ4/v-deo.html was released as a lyrics video as the song itself was a "Target Only" track on the first Pentatonix Original album. It is still one of my favorites! ♥Another Mitch lead song with Avi coming in strong especially near the end.🎶
@@stevealimonti190 every pentaholic knows that. During their live stream in 2020 Mitch and Scott sang a snippet from it, and then they joked about target and how it would sue them for it. lol
That really high harmony you hear at 5:08-5:14 (where you go 'ooo") is Kevin. Most think it's Mitch, but it's Kevin. It's even more pronounced in the live version at Popspring.
This is from their first original album titled Pentatonix. It’s the one I suggested the other day that I’d like to see you go all the way through like you did for The Lucky Ones. They have a deluxe version for that one too. Almost all orginals with just a few covers.
LOVE THIS!! Great lyrics and arrangement 🤯 Kirstin kills it, and I love Kevin’s high part during the “Take me higher” section. The Promise!! Also See Through- which I tell you every time I comment 😁.
SEE THROUGH!!! You HAVE to hear this song after The Promise and doing the sing-off song. Heck, I wouldn’t mine you reacting to it NOW!! 😄 I REALLY think you’re going to love it!
This is definitely one of my favorite of their originals - my favorite Kirstin-lead and I love when Mitch adds the “ear-candy” ;-) This was great, but I really prefer the live you watched before from Popspring, not sure why. My vote is for the Sing Off next because I know you’ll get to The Promise eventually - you’re killing us, lol!
Thanks for doing Superfruit. Scott and Mitch put so much heart, soul (and money) into their professionally produced music, and it didn’t get nearly the attention it deserved. Of course, that’s also the case for the originals from PTX. So many should have been on the radio.
Another underrated and underplayed song from their early years is Rose Gold. Audio only, which does not detract from the song at all. Scott really shines in this original. Instant earworm. :)
I love this song & performance so much … they just don’t get the attention they deserve on the radio etc. I don’t care what you play next because I think you’ll eventually get to most all of it. I’m just along for the joyride!
I much prefer the live version from the Popspring concert, mostly because for me the visual of that beautiful, animated backdrop was perfectly imbeded in the music. When those water drops hit bottom and Avi did his bass boom, it just shook the arena. I saw it live with the backdrop, so maybe that's why I like it so much. It was a highlight of the concert for me and my friends.
Love this song and the whole album - this was the album that sealed my devotion to PTX - and the song Na Na Na, the first track on this album was the one that hooked me.
This is one of my favorites from the first (2015) originals album, one of two songs on the album written by Kevin, Kirstie and an LA songwriter named Audra Mae (the other is "Take Me Home" and the lead on that is Mitch and Scott).
Let’s do the sing off. It’s so fun. And yes I love this and cracked and can’t sleep love I listen to this album quite a bit The promise is Superfruit s final song😭😭😭😭
I love this song, too. I hope that you will react to all of the songs on their self-titled Deluxe album of original songs. "First Things First" is another great song from the album. Actually, all of the songs on the album are great.
You've done three songs from the "Pentatonix" originals album -- "Can't Sleep Love", "Sing" and "Cheerleader" (OMI cover). There were 13 tracks on the basic album, one (If I Ever Fall in Love) a Shai cover featuring Jason Derulo, and the rest originals. The deluxe version adds 3 covers and a remix of "Can't Sleep Love" ft rapper Tink. And there is a special Target version with 3 more tracks "To the River" (original), and live tracks for "Problem" and "Aha !" I think the one you might like best is "To the River", but my favorites are "Ref", "Rose Gold", "New Year's Day" and "Light in the Hallway"
Another great Kirsten lead is Sweet Nothing, a Calvin Harris/Florence Welsh cover. Just her doing the main vocal with the boys supporting her. Also don't forget her ep LOVE, 5 or 6 great songs that she co-wrote. Also I just came across Kevin's cover of Don't Dream Its Over. It is the best vocal I have heard from him. With the main group and dozen of side projects, you could easily have an all PTX and friends channel and never play the same song twice.
Absolutely LOVE this song…like the lyric vid, but LOVE the Pop Spring video! Great reaction, but as much as I love Mitch…don’t mess with perfection. lol Either of the aforementioned vids are great…
All the songs from the “Pentatonix” album are super. If you haven’t heard Sing from that album, you are missing one that’ll have you up and dancing. I’m not sure if you’ve done it but Rather Be is a Kirstie out of the park. I love the Sing-Off. It’s amazing to watch them grow from very much beginners to the winners of the competition.
This is probably her best in my opinion. Took me minute to like this song but it's catchy and lyrics are 👌 (It's on their self titled album) (Also not voting, you already know! 😄)
I do tend to appreciate their songs/upgrades where the lead singer switches... it's just more magical for me. They're awesome always but just hearing them switch back and forth or more voices 'featured' is an extra uniqueness I really enjoy about them.
As awesome as it is that ptx has gotten so much recognition for their covers, it's a shame their originals don't get more traction. I love most of their covers more than the original but there is something special about the songs they write. This one is in my head a lot.
I think if PTX has a weakness it is they don’t seem to promote their originals as much as I think they should. 😂. I love their original stuff! This is a great, fun song. And you know me, I love Kirstin, but I LOVE hearing Mitch sing ANYTHING! Have a good one! While it will make me cry, please do The Promise
I agree, but I also know that they were recently trying to change their management group/label because of the lack of trying to promote their original stuff. I believe that it is not up to the group but up to their management group/label. They definitely want their non-Christmas music to make it on radio. It would fit perfectly!
@@tersommers They changed their management a year ago, they signed with YM&U. They even gave a huge interview to Billboard in March. Their contract with RCA expired in April, and they were shopping specifically for a new label (or for the same label, if it means the better deal for them), not for a management team.
Why is it that nobody ever listens to a Mitch lead and says, "Man, I wish Kirstie sang this"? I don't normally post about pet peeves but it comes across as so disrespectful. Some reactors went there in Shallow too. Mitch gets to sing plenty.
Definitely one of my favs. I feel like this a precursor to Be my eyes both written by Kirstin.
I vote for the promise
Definitely “the promise!!” Love that video! And love your channel!!!
This has always been one of my favorites. Most Kirstie led songs are.
I feel like this easily could’ve been a top ten radio hit back when I listened to the radio (delivering pizzas).

Yes!
I would vote for Sing Off. I love this song and agree it is underrated. This one is from the simply titled "Pentatonix". 🙂
This album "Pentatonix" came out in 2015 and is mostly original music, but also features "If I Ever Fall In Love" with Jason DeRulo!
