They want to trust and hope that their child will get better with help and time, but how many times would you accept getting robbed by your own son? or beaten up for being "too pushy" about getting clean? over and over until either the parents snap or someone dies. I would say that most of the people there are there because they alienated their family to live the way they wanted and when it all came crashing down they had no one to turn to other than miserable people living as shitty as themself. Sympathising is fine, but if the reason you are on the street is choice "YOu" made on your own, then its on you to get out of it.

Some people don't want to help themselves and some like to live off others even their own family. Shame. The welfare state has a lot to blame for this too, as it was 'designed' to be a stop gap between jobs/hardships and not to live off. Here in the UK we have 3rd/4th generations who have never worked a day in their lives and leach off the rest of us.
Or maybe the parents are too busy being friends to be parents. Most of those people are adults and nobody forces them into prostitution or drug addiction It's the 21st century and Macdonalds is on every block.
@@anglosaxon5874 Welfare states have existed throughout history. As much as you may hate the idea of people who 'leach off the rest of us', the alternative isn't much better. Without a comprehensive welfare system, Skid Row areas would become more likely. Slums might be more possible. People WILL drown their sorrows in drugs, alcohol and one of the most potent feel-goods...sex...creating more babies that would generate a new cycle of poverty and desperation. That lack of welfare would ultimately affect the lower and middle classes more than the upper echelons of society that tend to isolate themselves in areas away from the lower classes. For upper middle to lower middle class families, crime would most likely rise in their neighborhoods or areas that they frequent (shopping centers, malls, etc.). Incarcerations would increase and take more money out of your pocket as money shifts from welfare to prisoner care. Here in the US it costs about $34,000+ a year to take care of 1 federal prisoner. Compare that to $22,740 per welfare recipient. As much as I think people should work and take care of themselves, if I have to pay for the security a welfare state provides, while I still live a life that the Common Man Show members think is better than an industrialist lives in their country, then so be it. Here's some truth for you: "Average American home" is a misconception for all involved. *Most* Americans today are not home owners; there are only 80 million home owners in America, compared to 333 million people. Less than a 1/4th of people in this country own a home; renting or sharing a home with someone that does own it is the typical existence in America. We are constantly sold a long bill of goods that has not been true for a very long time.
@@Vaprous me and my boyfriend have been renting the past 6 years, before thy we lived with his mom for a year. I’ve never owned a home, I’ve always rented and I’m 31 years old.
@O_O Democratic states pay the most federal taxes and are the most educated. Wouldn't that mean that most of the money the government spends on the military, highways and such comes from them? Aren't Texas and Florida in the top 3 for recipients of welfare benefits because Republican states seem to be poor? I won't leave out the truth of the numbers because California is in the top 3, too. Texas and Florida are in the top 4 for federal taxes as well. The point is that anyone can spew percentages and numbers that make things seem bad. The truth is though that most Republican states (other than Texas and Florida) offer their own drains on our nation but are sucking up more money than they are giving. There are Democratic states with crime problems and money problems as well. We shouldn't be playing these games of which party is worse. We need to look at how we make both parties better for the average American. Neither one is really doing anyone any favors other than for the people that can afford to donate enough to their campaigns to register a "Hello!" or a personal nod. We need to make both parties change that! I pay more in taxes than a lot of rich people. Let's find out which one of these parties can fix that!
Thank you for showing this side of the U.S. Thankfully, I have never been homeless. However, I grew up in Southern California and went to school in an affluent suburb of Los Angeles. In fact, I went to elementary school with celebrities' kids. Our family was poor, though. I knew hunger. But I don't cry about it at all because it taught me to be thankful for and appreciate what I do have and to be content with little.
I love these guys. Their kindness and humanity shines out in every video. I wonder if they appreciate that they are richer than the billionaires in America. Maybe they do, I dunno. God bless them.
People are homeless in LA because of the high cost of living. Not just life choices. There are homeless people in America who have jobs and families but they do not make enough money. Also, cities do not have permanent construction of slums because they are illegal. If you build something of poor quality the government will tear it down and force you to pay a penalty. That is why people live in tents. It allows them to move their things because the structure is not permanent.
No. If you can’t afford to live in LA or SF you leave and find somewhere more affordable. I have no sympathy for people living out of cars complaining they can’t find an apartment. Get in your car and drive somewhere more affordable.
@@FirstNameLastName-wt5to I am sure bankers are very happy you are spreading this attitude. It ensures that their bottom lines matter more than the lives of people. Your indoctrination has been well taken.
Indeed i have American friends who have been forced to live in their cars for brief periods due to expenses getting over their heads. Its a failure of politics still, a sign that the supply and demand chain has been disrupted completely by the machinations of the politicians.
I saw a documentary in a poor part of California, with thousands of people all living an impoverished, dangerous life. Gangs wore colour coded t- shirts so their drug selling territories were marked. Mentally ill, addicts, prostitutes, all manner of the rejected lived there in a sort of community. Every so often police came through, and swept their tents and belongings away. It was awful. The wealthy wanted the area they lived in to be rebuilt into expensive housing for themselves. The city wanted the taxes those wealthy people would pay. It was very ugly. This kind of thinking has been happening since the migration during the Depression and Dustbowl years, when farms lost their topsoil in the thirties. Banks wanted the land, foreclosed on small farms, and hundreds of thousands migrated to California, where they were treated terribly. Diseases broke out, crop picking didn’t pay enough to keep families alive, children weren’t allowed in schools, no one was treated in hospitals because they weren’t allowed in. It’s always terrible, mankind at its worst when wealth , or anything else, beats up on the poor.
That was heartbreaking to watch, I hope the lady will find a safe home and happiness soon. The dog is probably her only loyal friend right now. It was so nice how Babu called her daughter.

Je ne sais dans quel coin de l’inde ils vivent mais ce sont 3 personnes extraordinaires, des gens simples et vrais, curieux de tout, sans haine, sans jalousie, sans jugement. J’ai une tendresse particulière pour Babu 😊
Sadly not everything is so rosy for everyone in the US. Even worse the opinion of many a citizen that should care about these people is "fuck'em". I fell on hard times myself in the past. I lived out of the back of my car at a rest stop on the freeway. Only through sheer luck did I manage to pull myself up. Took a few years. It changed a lot of my views on life though.
I'm glad to hear you are doing better and feel you are not in that same insecure place in your life anymore. I hope as time goes by you will continue to have improvement. May you be blessed.
The "f'm" attitude benefits the banks the most, getting more people into debts taking out loans to pay for housing; it is done at the expense of the better orientation of values; that being the lives of people matter more than things.
Thank you. I recommended in comments you show them skidrow. There are other videos as well that really show the problem. One takes place in argyle park - after covid even skidrow was too packed and they moved into parks. So sad. My very loved nephew is one of them in skid row, id do anything for him to come home.
I like that they seem to so often have lyrics for wrapping up the sad videos. It's a little cheesy but it's very endearing & a sweet way to put good vibes out to balance the sadness.
Sadly, many young people leave home to escape their parents abuse and/or addictions. I doubt that the young lady in the video had much parental support at home.
Babu basically said that Skid Row was worse than a slum 😢 lol off topic but every time Babu and Sarru start playing their instruments, Raeen just has this look on his face lol it’s like internally he’s saying “oh god, here we go” 😂 😆
They should understand that a lot of homeless were abused kids who ran away. Others are mentally ill or there because they went bankrupt from medical bills. Also there are reasons they don't want to go to a shelter. Shelters are crowded, sometimes full and they cannot take the dog that protects them when they sleep on the street. Also the shelters want cleanliness but make homeless people give up posessions that they need once the shelter has no room for them. It's a mess
@@kellyalves756 yeah I understand. Having a boyfriend who wants her to prostitute herself may be because she had very bad parents and doesn't think much of herself. Abused kids tend to end up in abusive relationships as adults.

I have tears of sadness and joy. I love and appreciate these kind and wise men!!!! May God bless them!
Wow!🇺🇸
I've been living in a van for 13 years. I park on a wide side strip of a dead end road, secluded and hiding. I see this and I get anxiety. Not a druggy nor a drunkard. I lost my eldest son horrifically and can't wrap my head around it. Nobody wants to see this face, and I don't want to show it to anyone. I'm over 60 now and can't see a welcoming end. That's life I guess. There are many different lives, somebody has to live this one.
My heart goes out to the lady thought. At least I have a safe warm place to sleep at night.
So Sorry. I'm sending a hug to you, catch it. :)
So sorry…you will be thought of! ❤❤❤😊😊😊 Stay safe please!
Sadly though, not all parents are good 'friends'. Some of the people there are there because of their parents.
Some parents just gave up in the end, i don't fault them at all. As someone who had to deal with a drug addict brother i know what a strain it can become for parents to deal with.
@@Razzlion In commiefornial, the rent is too high as is the cost of living.
A lot don't want to miss out on the freebies [welfare/food stamps], but also cannot afford to move elsewhere and feel it's a forlorn situation.
Your points are true too.
Then move
I'm still doing amazingly well then.
Beautiful song 🤗 thank you Babu and Sarru.

I grew up there from 81-91. Those years made me grow up way too quick.
I was also homeless for 10 years. It’s been 5 since I’ve been off the street.
Most of the people I knew at that time are dead.
Glad u made it out. Respect. Many fall into cycle of drug abuse.
One thing this didn’t show was just how many families are homeless. It’s getting bad in many states all over the country.
right I'm from the capital of California and there is this one street where homeless families have just kind of literally turned it into a little village burnt out buses have been turned into little houses, kids playing on Rusty junkyard equipment the parents go to the freeway and panhandle it's super depressing
And we know who is to blame for this.
@@manolo5042 not every job is available for everyone. even education in the US is highly segregated and as a matter of fact noone should be forced to do a job he or she can't even earn enough to pay for the basics of living. Not a single man or woman should be forced to do more than one job just to be able to pay for daily needs. There are no meaningless jobs. A company cant work with just the shareholders on the top. Even the people cleaning the floors should earn enough for a living since its also an important part of the whole companies process. If they wouldnt be necessary their job would not exist. The US is sick. unrestrained capitalism is the virus name. a totaly wrong understanding of freedom is the reason why people diing in the streets, can get tolerated even if it happens right infront of their nose. So maybe you are right. Maybe there are more jobs available then people searching for one but if thats true id guess its because the working conditions and the payment are ways too bad, at least in most cases. Hey a source of income is a source of income. When you’re hungry and you have to provide for others, you have to make sacrifices. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the prospect of any career to feed your children. A shit job is something that keeps you afloat and gives your children a chance to have a career.
@@manolo5042 Yeah, and if you don't bow down and take the jab you cannot get a job welcome to Biden's paradise so even if they are jobs available most people are not willing to take this so-called vaccine in their bodies.

Babu is very insightful, and plays great music. They all have good characters. No matter where we go, we are not so different. Their commentaries are interesting and compassionate.
I'm glad you showed this after the rich kid video
Babu is so wise
Another awesome show!!Babu did particularly well on his drum!!!!!!!!
Babu is extremely wise and intelligent, he understood right away that America must also have these extremes in wealth distribution because that's simply the way human cities have operated since cities were a thing.
Babu is so extremely wise

I am so TRULY MOVED by this video … & at the end when Babu sang & played w/ Sarru… even my cat, Freddy was moved 😺… he suddenly started curling around in circles with love on the rug😻

These three men show humanity in the first degree, we could learn a thing or maybe two.
I am about to call you the three wise men. You understand more than mist people in America. I am a 68 year old woman who lives in cheap motels and fears the day when the money runs out.
I’m so sorry.
I’m there now . I’ll be 66. I’m terrified. I have maybe a month left for my credit card . Then it’s my car .
Can you receive some assistance from welfare to help you? Is that not possible where you are?
@@BlackCoffeeee Actually, housing assistance iv very hard to get. I live in the desert on the outskirts of Los Angeles and would have to go to Skid Row as they have the most resources. I not willling yet to deal with the drugs, prostitution, rape and violence. Thank you for your concer.
We have a new outreach program in my city that I hope more will use. They were able to reuse an old Army base and convert it into small apartments for the poor. Each has a bed and a locking door so they can be safe. There is a community kitchen, bathroom, and laundry area that they can all use. It may not be much, but to them, it is such an improvement over living on the street.
I love Babu he takes the situations he sees and always imparts life wisdom
“ Those tents are right near a skyscraper”
That about sums it up.
7:05 I’ve heard this before- particularly for unaccompanied women, inside the shelter can be more dangerous than outside. Especially at lights out.

Yes! Thank you so much for showing them another side of America. We all don’t have homes as nice as the ‘average American home’ video that you showed them. I’m so glad they got to see another perspective. Thank you🧡Great video and always great to hear these guys’ thoughts. They’re wonderful!!
Yes. Love to all.
Thank you for balancing the previous video with this video. Also, these three men are the best!

Compassion is universal.
Great video.

This has to be one my most favorite videos so far. The love and advice. The musical close. Just perfect
@@FirstNameLastName-wt5to Yeah. They have cars, and money to travel. Don't be ridiculous.
Indeed i have American friends who have been forced to live in their cars for brief periods due to expenses getting over their heads. Its a failure of politics still, a sign that the supply and demand chain has been disrupted completely by the machinations of the politicians.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this. I used to live near that area and since I left it has only grown worse and worse. Beyond despair😔
I love the natural benevolence of these men's hearts.
I love the respect that Sarru has for Babu. It's beautiful
Thank you for showing the other side of America
That young lady, for whatever reason, didn't want a cot in that building or homeless shelter. She maybe she doesn't like rules or curfew.
I was saying this the other day and people were awful to me! Thank you for this, they deserve truth.
Babu is a very wise and intelligent gentleman
Watching the pain in their eyes as they Watched and the joy as the lady was at the mission got to me...I cried 😢
I'm so so so glad you showed them this. Thank you

I really admire Babu, Sarru and Raeen's reactions to this... It is difficult to imagine in a world filled with so much wealth that there is still extreme poverty. But it is part of the human condition... I truly appreciated their words and their understanding...
I would love for them to react to traditional homes around the world... I think they would find that interesting... Great job on these vids! Keep up the amazing work!
Je ne sais dans quel coin de l’inde ils vivent mais ce sont 3 personnes extraordinaires, des gens simples et vrais, curieux de tout, sans haine, sans jalousie, sans jugement. J’ai une tendresse particulière pour Babu 😊
I love this show and I love India so much. I’ve never been there but I really want to go. Bless India.
Babu Bhai is so smart!
Wow, I was just thinking about Skid Row and this channel yesterday!
I like that they seem to so often have lyrics for wrapping up the sad videos. It's a little cheesy but it's very endearing & a sweet way to put good vibes out to balance the sadness.
Sadly, many young people leave home to escape their parents abuse and/or addictions. I doubt that the young lady in the video had much parental support at home.
then her 'boy friend' turned out to be a pimp. I bet the decision wasn't fully hers, or maybe not hers at all.
Babu bai is such a wise man!
Look at them looking all snazzy! lol. What a wise man Babu is surprises me every time.
I have family members that currently love on skid row. I pray for them to quit using drugs and get the help that they need. Great video💕
Babu basically said that Skid Row was worse than a slum 😢
lol off topic but every time Babu and Sarru start playing their instruments, Raeen just has this look on his face lol it’s like internally he’s saying “oh god, here we go” 😂 😆

@@bobkitten8150 Haha! We're getting to know them. funny and true comments
Ikr,love it. At least he knows it's cringe but some people actually dig it that he does this every time since.
1:23 Look at Raeen's expression. He's thinking, "In America?" Well, I guess..so...."
It's a mess
Just what I was thinking Unfortunately “ just going back to her parents” might be just as bad or worse than being on the street.
@@kellyalves756 yeah I understand. Having a boyfriend who wants her to prostitute herself may be because she had very bad parents and doesn't think much of herself. Abused kids tend to end up in abusive relationships as adults.
