I biked the western Adirondacks last summer [2019] rt 3 Watertown to Tupper Lake to Blue Lake to Lake Pleasant to Utica, buggy but beautiful with freshly paved roads and some great campsite. I love the smell of the Adirondacks. And those beautiful downhill runs!
Yeah the rotes were lovely for cycling and the smell is something I absolutely noticed and enjoyed so much. It was very pure and had piney scent. I'm glad you experienced that!
Hey Christian, liked the upstate N.Y. ride you did. Whshed you had less fast foward runs. If you went down Route 9 to Lake George, you would have passed through my home town, Warrensburg.
Watching your Adirondacks video really brought back some great memories. I lived in Pattsburgh for three wonderful years. I did a lot of backpacking, canoeing and got started in bicycle touring there. Now I live in the Midwest and my better cycling days are behind me. Will continue to watch your other videos. Thanks and good luck.
Just watched episodes 1, 2 and 3. For just starting a vlog, you did great. I grew up in the Saratoga, to Albany region, so this brought back more than a few memories, than you for that. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to more
Thank you for sharing this video, the scenery was magnificent with the Autumn colours. Normally when I see fast forwarded footage, I turn it off, seems to give me vertigo ( I am an older person ) but persevered with your film because I enjoyed the ride with you. Good luck with your adventures. ☺
Hahaha, I'm actually working on adjusting the sped up film- thinking of doing it slower, but still slightly sped up for a shorter distance, to really highlight the nice spots and yes, decrease the vertigo factor... Thanks for bearing with me. I'm new to the whole filming and editing process and I strive to improve with time.
very nice! in the 1980's instead of my usual XC skiing in the Adirondacks, staying at the Barkeater Inn because of bad snow or lack of I went there in Memorial day weekend with bike - I did some day rides there - I see that you went south to my region the mid-Hudson Valley - Poughkeepsie NY - you mention not so great scenery ?? - if you had ridden on rt 28 in Ulster County and along the Ashokan reservoir - lots of awesome!! I am the Adventure Cycling Association mid-Hudson Valley NY advisor - the Atlantic Coast route goes through New Paltz and your rant about your mech troubles - I feel your pain LOL
I find I only eat slightly more when I'm doing 120km days for weeks on end than when I'm more sedentary. I might increase my intake by 50% but that's about all.
Whatever works for your body is best. Eating intuitively should work if you pay attention to energy levels and hunger. It's a given that anyone would eat more than they normally would when touring.
Christian, we're nearing the completion of our Amazon Documentary entitled, "Lost Not Lost". We are interested in footage submissions for B-Roll in the documentary. You've got some good stuff here. Will you give us permission to use some of it for the film? You'll be credited and noted in the film.
Hi Robert! Thanks for your interest in my work and congrats on this cool sounding endeavor of yours. Please be free to e-mail me at : christianarza@yahoo.com for further reply.
I did do some primitive camping on this trip... mainly in quiet stretches of forest near state or county roads. A couple of times I used people's backyards with permission, churches were also a help.

BEAUTIFUL CLEAR PICS & VIDEOS! OUTSTANDING BEAUTY!
Thank you! I don't think my video does the beauty of the Adirondacks justice. It is just amazing to see in person.

I'VE NEVER BEEN THERE SO I CAN'T IMAGINE HOW GORGEOUS IT'S THERE. BUT REALLY LIKE WHAT I'VE SEEN.

What camera did you use to make this video, and did you need an auxiliary battery?
Did u primitive camp on this trip?...was it hard finding places to pull off to camp?

Hi which model Ortlieb panniers are you using?
Hey! I've got the back roller/ front roller. Definitely recommend. They are great...
hi
with them panniers your using do they breathe very well ?
Breathe? They do not breathe at all they aren't really supposed to, otherwise they wouldn't be waterproof.
fast forwarding just ruins a otherwise brilliant video
