  • So the story goes like this;
Our mate Todd had a few health issues and right at the same time Grassroots Garage lost our cameraman & Pete's Brother John while living his best life in Turkey.
It was time for something positive.... so we give you... Toddnats.
The idea was simple. Let's get SIRDAT on track, and while we're there; let's invite his family and friends.
Simple idea. Not so simple to execute. Track hire is expensive, and as soon as you say "nah no timers; we just want to cut laps and do skids" you get told to bugger right off in no uncertain terms.
Lucky for us we know some amazing people. Enter Steven from Beat the Blue; Steven said he would back us and bring a HWP car down on the day so when
Steven from Beat the Blue is in, he's bringing a Highway Patrol car but we need more.
Enter Steve from Shannons. Steve hooked us up with the Gogo Mobile at Summernats; what an experience cutting laps at Summernats in this beast!!! So we Owe steve one favour.... why not double down?!?. "hey steve; we're trying to put something together... do you think Shannon's could throw some weight behind it?" .... YEP!
and just like that we had enough to approach a venue... and we got knocked back. devastating.
We sent a few more emails. no reply. Enter Ninety-Nine Racings crewman Darren; he made a call on our behalf and explained what we were trying to do. Next thing you know the amazing people from the ARDC allowed us to borrow Sydney Motorsport Park for the day! And I do mean borrow. We were absolutely flawed... so here's what we need. If you could pause the video, grab your phone and leave the ARDC AND Sydney Motorsport Park five star reviews we'd really appreciate it.
So we've got a track, but it's not over yet... we need insurance. We called brokers, we called mates we called anyone we could think of. No love. A one off event with a bunch of modified cars on a racetrack is VERY hard to find insurance for. But we must have it for the event to go ahead.
Enter Matt from Hulk Drifting. If you caught the Hulk Drifting ep you'll know this part of the story....
Sweet; insurance is sorted and Sam the absolute legend is donating his time to run the track for the day.... so here's what we need. If you could pause the video, grab your phone and leave the Australian Drift Club a five star review we'd really appreciate it.
So we've got a track, we're insured... but it's not over yet... a major expense on the day is having a tow truck on site because damaged vehicles can damage the track surface and that gets real expensive.
Enter Danny aka TOWIE from Penrith Towing . If you caught TOWIE ep you'll know this part of the story....
Cool...we've got a track, we're insured, Danny's sponsored us with a tow truck.... We've invited a bunch of mates and celebrity guests... but it'd be nice to get Todd out on track in something exotic...
Enter Mr Brian El-Hassan. Brian hooked us up with two lambos and a GTR for Todd, his wife and his son to cut laps in.
We are indebted to Cultura for bringing down these amazing Lambo's and hang out for the day...
So we've got a track, we're insured, TOWIE, Shannons and Cultura are coming... I guess we better get started!
Quick briefing then time to jump in Gav's 4agte powered ke20 and act like children I guess...
After getting SIRDAT out for a quick wrap Todd get to fulfil every father's dream. Todd's daughter Carly jumps behind the wheel with Todd in the passenger seat for some laps of and empty Sydney Motorsport... just family and friends.... oops turns out Carly is a hoon like her old man... pull her over Steve!
In actual fact Beat the Blue runs track evenings where learner rivers can practice being pulled over so they are more comfortable on the street when it actually happens.
We support Beat the Blue's efforts and we strongly encourage everyone to attend any and all track meets.
Mid Morning we paused for this epic shot of everyone together on the main straight...
Then we figured a bit of light roll racing was in order.
As it happened we had some of the quickest cars in Sydney in attendance. Mitsi from the TRP stables has been in the to 10 on more than one occasion and Jeff's VY was in the final with half the horsepower it has now.
It was never going to end well for Jeff on street tyres against the AWD package... stay tuned for when he puts some proper rubber on!
As you know KOVAL has sold but Michael still came down for some cruising in one of the GFB cars
Time to take those Supercars out for some laps...
At the end of the day there was one thing left to do... Burnouts.
    We want to once again thank those that made the day possible;
    Darren from 99 Racing
Glenn and Alex from the ARDC
    Steven from Beat the Blue
    Steve and Charmaine from Shannons
    Matt from Hulk Drifting
Sam and the entire team from The Australian Drift Club
    Danny the TOWIE
    Brian from MC Racing
    Ricardo and the Cultura team
    Craig Bulkely
ANd of course all of Todd's Family and Freinds

I remember this day. It was amazing how well it went. I can't believe he's gone. There's not a day goes by I don't watch one of his car vids and shed a tear. I actually got turned away at the gate. What only Todd and clarky knew that because I wasn't vaccinated they wouldn't let me in. That was not going to stop me. I had to climb the fence. Go through the bush and walk all the way around the track to get to the tunnel under the track. I came up the otherside straight into the v8 supercar pit area. Walked through them. Got a free drink from 888 racing and walked out into the middle were Todd was. .I remember his family were all such great people. It was awesome to see the bond between him and his daughter. I really admire the relationship they had. To see her drive the coupe was just bliss. But knowing Todd was not going to be around anymore was in a sense absolutely heart breaking. He bought so much good to a scene which is often clouded by ego and selfishness. Todd was the opposite. At car shows we would share an extra dry together and have a bit of a Fj yarn and catch up.
I'm having trouble getting motivation to finish a datto I'm building since loosing Todd. It's just not the same anymore. Love you Toddy.
