Your petrified wood tumbles are amazing - you are so lucky to have so much of it naturally around Texas. I've always wondered whether you could tell the species of tree by looking at its grain patterns. I know you can tell palm trees apart from the rest quite easily, but that's probably because they aren't actually trees to begin with.
Hey Jenny, Thanks for watching! It’s funny you should ask me now because I’m in the middle of rebuilding and modifying one 😆. I’ve never used the Lotto but I’ve tried just about all of the rest and right now my go-to is the Raytech Adjusta-Vibe 18. I was using the Thumler’s UV-18 but the motor housing wore out which is why I’m currently rebuilding it with the Raytech motor 😉. For a recommendation I would say look for a Thumler’s UV-10. Good luck!
Scott, love all your tumbles but petrified wood is my favorite. These are awesome ! Best rock hounding channel, Thanks

I’ve often wondered the same thing 🤔. I bet an arborist would have good shot at identifying the original tree.
@@spwinaustin Might see if my next-door neighbour fancies taking a look at this vid. She's a retired prof with a PHD in botany.
I got some in now stage 1 hopefully they turned out as well as yours ❤
I hope they turn out great! Mine were in the coarse stage for a couple of months 🥴.

These look wonderful. My Lot O Tumbler motor seems to be on its way out and I was wondering what vibratory tumbler you would recommend?
