    Had my PRK done 4 days ago, and OMG day 3 kicked my a$$.. it felt like someone was clawing my eyes out and pouring acid on them simultaneously.. praise the Lord that I am no longer in pain 🙏
    Thanks for making this video, glad you’re on the road to recovery.. after going through day 3 post PRK, I thank the good Lord for blessing me with such a gift -eyesight.. after going through PRK, I will not take eye sight for granted, not just eye sight, not being in pain

      🤣🤣 this made me laugh so much haha. I feel all that pain!! Day 3 had me questioning everything in existence but now it’s such a blessing to look back on.
      Eye sight is such a gift. Waking up and not searching for glasses is such a gift. Not buying contacts is such a gift!
      I wish you the best! And I pray the recovery goes well! You got this!

    I can fully relate from start to finish like the after taste of the eyedrops, learning to focus like clear and yet blurry thing and lastly the feeling of having a tired eyes due to contact lens without any contact lens on. Jeez... So real.

    Just got my prk 4 days ago and today has been by far the best post surgery feeling, no squintyness, no itchyness, no burning, hardly any light sensitivity whatsoever. Day 1: Sept 23, 2024 Got PRK done at around 2:30 pm, though eyes felt heavy and it was more comfortable to have them closed, I felt great and I could see amazingly. Sharp and crisp.
    Day 2: Pain started in the afternoon, was pretty bad through the night, but thankfully was able to sleep out of exhaustion. Light sensitivity and inflammation.
    Day 3: Still painful throughout the day, but a little less than day before. Light sensitivity and inflammation.
    Day 4: Relief from pain! Light sensitivity, eyes stiff puffy and feel a little heavy.
    Day 5: Inflammation lessened significantly, light sensitivity a little better, easy to open eyes in the morning (no more heaviness). Got contacts out.
    Day 6: Easy to open eyes in the morning, less sensitivity to light, was able to watch TV comfortably with sunglasses.
    Day 7: Now that I’m over the pain, inflammation, and bad light sensitivity, I can take notice how I see. It’s getting easier to look at my phone screen and actually use my phone. When I put an eye-drop in, I see so crisp, but when the liquid fades, I do see fogginess when I try to focus on things far away so I’m intentionally not straining. Still hard to read computer screen, it’s easier when changing to bigger font size.

      Week 2: Some blurryness but overall eyesight is awesome, especially at night.
      Week 3: Pretty bad. Seeing double. Very blurry.
      Week 4: Better. Double vision has improved, happens for a couple of hours everyday but not all day and it’s happening during less time everyday. Thursday is definitely better. Still hard to see computer screen. Sunday only had blurry vision at night, the rest of the day it was great! I can see a computer screen pretty good now without straining! Omg amazing.
      Week 5: Awesome. Beautiful. I see clearly, still using eyedrops to avoid eyes getting too dry.

    I’ll be 2 weeks since surgery this Friday and I’ve been feeling these exact same things. Hard to focus, one eye adjusting quicker than the other, headaches, I see better when I put the eye drops, light sensitivity even inside my house. But the difference is that the two first days were HELL to me and after day three it all started to improve drastically and even stopped taking pain killers that day. Now, my right eye feels like it has the contact lenses feeling you described and it’s very annoying now but it goes away as soon as I put the eye drops. Anyway, so far is the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m so happy to see things even better than I did with glasses. It’s just a long recovery process. Thanks for the video!

    Hi. I had PRK 5 days ago. Eyes were irritated and senstiive !! 24-48 hour period, not painful due to taking Ibuprofen and Tylenol with Codeine the first two nights after surgery. Since contact bandages were taken out, a little dry and less visual acuity. Decided to have the surgery because the cost of daily contacts with Astigmatism was only getting worse and harder to find prescription. Worth every penny and discomfort. Advised to take Vitamin C 1000mg for a year, steroid eye drops (3 months total), and preservative free drops for dry eyes add to cost, however; not having to wear corrective lenses of any sort at 46 is worth its weight in gold!
    Thanks for you take on your surgery, will definitely share with other who are considering to get another prosective on outcome.

    I didn't believe them when they said day 3 would be the worst but it was soooooo bad I bawled my eyes out it hurt so bad. It felt like 1,000 tiny needles stabbing the inside of my eyes. They also replaced my contact lens that day and I couldn't even open my eyes by myself and the seconds it was out it felt so scratchy. Now I just know that the pain means I'm still recovering!

    Had my premium PRK a week ago, a premium methot with no pressure and no chemicals. Just felt like there was an eyelash stuck in my eye for the first three days, and things looked a bit foggy. By day four, I was already on the train by myself heading to a checkup, and I was back at work on day five. Now, if I'm on the computer for an hour, my vision gets a bit blurry, and I need to take breaks, but overall, I'm seeing quite well. They said it'll take a few weeks to get the full vision.

    I have had PRK twice. Once was about a year and a half ago. Not sure what happend. The recovery was not really painfull and about 6 months later I was at a -1.0 in both eyes. Talked to my military doctor and I wanted to get it redone. I had to wait 1 year but just had it redone 5 days ago. This time they sent me to Lackland airforce base to make sure it was done right. They had the state of the art 3D equipment and really did a great job. My issue was the recovery. The second time was a lot worse. By day 2 or 3 I could barely keep my eyes open because they stung so much. Around day 5 they got a lot better. Now I can see 20/15 and love it. Military is hit or miss from my experience but I hope I never have to do it again.

My eyes feel very heavy, dry, irritable and headaches come with it. Would love to know if you found anything that helps and if this feeling is still here for you/how much time did it take for it to stop. All I'm doing is eye drops all day everyday.
    Also, 2 things that helped me with pain and recovery were: fish oil/omega 3 pills, vitamin C and taking pain meds before I start feeling pain; 2h before or even more. The result is still worth it all yall.

      Hey! I bought an ice eye mask and that got rid of my headaches and itchy eyes. It’s just a gel ice pack that’s in the shape of an eye mask. I’m sure you could just use a regular ice pack or something like that. But I would put it on my face for about 15 minutes or so every couple hours. Made a HUGE difference
      Other than that, time is your biggest friend. Eye drops are helpful so carry them on you as you go. Try not to rub your eyes too much, and make sure you’re wearing sunglasses

I can watch my 55in from about 6ft away for about 30min at a time wjthout an issues (usually) but playing video games for longer than 10mins is a NOGO. Driving to the office from about a week in until 3days ago, then using my computer nearly all day was torture. I got almost no work done. Its frustrating. Hell its frustrating writing this message! My eyes are constantly tired, so it makes me feel like not doing anything or going anywhere. I'm ready for the process to be over so I can enjoy doing thinga again. Going on a cruise with my wife soon, so NO SCREENS for almost a week & sunglasses all the time plus sleeping in will HOPEFULLY give my eyes the rest they need!

      Sheeesh I feel your pain. I remember being right where you are!
      I’d say my eyes were fully adjusted at the 9 month mark. But at the same time, I was blessed. By the 2 month mark my vision was good and the only things I was really struggling with was dry eyes, random pains here and there, and sensitivity to light. By the 6 month mark most of all complications were resolved
      And as of right now, my eyes are doing well. I don’t really have any issues that I can think of. Of course they could be better, but coming from how bad my vision was at the beginning, I have no complaints haha

      @nyarinyax  Рік тому +2

      Hey! I’m actually hoping to post a new updated video within the week that will answer questions such as these.
      But to keep it short, I did have focusing issues, but they stopped with time. For me, it was more with closer objects. I could look at my phone and my vision would be blurry, then I’d have to concentrate to find focus again. If I needed to look far away quickly, I would also have issues.
      I think it’s just because I was using muscles I had never had to use before. I’m confident the same is for you, and thus it will just take time for your eyes to adjust.
      As for night vision, it’s definitely not as clear as the day time, but I am able to function well. I’d say it feel about the same as pre surgery in the sense of my astigmatism and what not

    • @nyarinyax
      @nyarinyax  Рік тому +1

      So to be fully honest, the pain is only part of the problem. The bigger issue is that it’s your eyes. So you can’t function at all.
      I’ve had pain that physically hurt more, but I was able to force myself to function throughout the day.
      But with this pain, it’s almost impossible to distract yourself from it because you can’t see.
      It feels like there’s sand in your eye, or little hairs everywhere. It makes your eyes water, but you can’t take any of them out. And if light hits your eyes during the healing, the pain increases (this is only my experience. Others did not feel this at all)
      I think I used Tylenol for pain, but like I said, it’s such a specific feeling, I’m not sure if the pain killers actually helped. Because they wouldn’t fix a hair being in my eye

      @nyarinyax  Місяць тому +1

      Good question! This was a big fear of mine as well, but it's honestly not a big deal at all. When they are telling you about the recovery, they make it seem like your eyes are this over sensitive/fragile thing while you're first recovering. But in reality, you won't hurt it. When you go to your checkup, you'll notice that the "bandage contact" is just a regular contact, and they'll take it out of your eye just like normal.
      You definitely don't want to harshly rub your eyes because they will be painful, but you don't have to worry about damaging anything if you accidentally rub them, or accidentally get water in them or anything like that!
      My guess is the doctors leave us somewhat scared about it to ensure we are uber careful during our recovery process. But you're fine! Good luck with the recovery!

      @@eliasb3857 haha yeah I definitely felt that fear too haha.
      If the Dr. has already removed the bandage contact, I wouldn’t be worried about it. I was scrubbing my eyes after that haha.
      It’s my understanding that pressure at that point will only cause pain. It won’t hinder the healing process once the bandage is removed

      You don’t need glasses for reeding.
      If you are already 45+ everybody needs glasses for reeding but not because of this correction.
