This trailer used the scare the absolute PISS out of me when I was a kid! "Frogs" came out when I was seven, and the trailer used to come on TV at all times (not just later at night). It got to the point where, during commercials, I would get up and stand by the door, ready to flee just in case the "Frogs" trailer came on the screen! That hand hanging out of the frog's mouth used to really freak me out. My dad used to tease/scare us by putting his hand up to his mouth and yelling "Frogs!".
I was in panama city fl and I met some of the stars of this movie, they were there promoting {FROGS} My sisters and friends met Sam Elliot {a real hunk!} Joan van Ark and Adam Roark. we got autographed pictures. I wish I still had Sam's. They were all really nice people, real young and just starting out. I was only 12 yrs old and this movie scared me. To this day I don't watch scary movies.
I remember owning this as a kid and really enjoying it. I need to find a copy now and see just how badly it holds up, although I'm sure it'll be entertaining for other reasons. And man, what a poster that movie had.
56mercgal i totally agree with you about the hand in the frogs mouth and how we should still have drive in out door movies were you can just relax they were awsom! :)
love this film, saw it for the first time as a kid in the 70's.this film also has a great cast, didn't realize until years later that was sam elliott in the movie.ray milland was a great classic actor, adam roarke did alot of cool films like dirty mary, crazy larry and the savage seven and joan van ark was in knots landing.there actually showing this movie friday night on the retro channel.
Wonderful . . . another movie trailer that used to scare the piss out of me back when I was a kid . . . They used to always show this trailer during the evening commercial breaks, at times when you'd least expect it. As soon as I saw the first scenes of this trailer, I would run out of the room screaming! For some reason, seeing that human hand hanging out of the frog's mouth at the end ALWAYS freaked me out! I used to think this was the scariest movie that ever was (although I never saw it!)
I saw this movie when I was like 9 years old. I used to sneak downstairs late at night when my parents were asleep and watch tv so that they could not sensor what I was watching. One night the movie Frogs was on. I watched it from beginning to end and it scared the crap out of me. I just watched it recently and the movie kind of sux. But it will always hold a special place in my hart because it is the first horror movie I ever saw.
Absolutely hilarious movie. The ending was a hoot with the phone ringing and Milland screaming, "Who is this?" while in the next room a bunch of frogs are all over the phone...as if they phoned! I'm not making this up....
I saw this movie at a friend's sleepover. Everyone was laughing at how cheesy it was, but I was terrified! I still can't bring myself to watch the spider scene. Ughhhh! Gives meh teh williez!! : 6
What's weird is that this film got released on the same date (05/10/1972) as another ecologically-themed film - namely "Silent Running" (one of my favourite sci-fi films.)
Early Sam Elliott and Joan Van Ark film. Love every campy moment of it. By the way, there aren't any "frogs" in the movie. They are toads. LMAO. The African American sista in the movie is fine....damn. I think she was on different tv shows in the 70's.
Horror flicks from the 70's like, Dawn of the dead Rabid, Last House on Left, Jaws 1 and 2, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Cannibal Holocaust, and Day of The Animals were all exceptional!
Frogs fricken rules! I saw this flick at Miners theatre in Collinsville Il way back in the early 70s. I also saw the double bill of House of dark shadows and The fearless vampire killers around the same time.Awesome! A few years later say around 1974 when i was 11 me and my friend saw the r rated horror flick They came from within at the same theatre. They wouldnt let us in to see the Exorcist but they let us in to this sick flick. Cheers!
I remember seeing this at the movie theater and the poster had a giant frog with a hand in its mouth. I kept waiting and waiting to see the giant frog. Sadly it never appeared except on the poster.
I remember seeing this when I was 9 and it scared the bejezus out of me. Especially the tarantula scene. That was the first time that I had seen gore in a movie. This was also a good before they were stars movie, too, like Sam Elliot and Joan Van Ark. Then 3 years later, Jaws came out and you know the rest of the story.
Always thought this was a pretty good movie. Remember seeing it with a couple of friends at the Drive-Inn when it came out. A few years later when VHS came out I had it in my collection. That is until the player decided to eat it along with a couple of other movies. Ha! The only thing that has always bothered me about this movie was that the frogs never did anything. It was like they dictated to the birds, lizards, snakes etc. to do their bidding. Maybe the name of the movie should have been, "The Dictator Frogs"!
They used to show this on the channel 7 3:30 Movie, later the 3:00 Movie, in Chicago. It's one of those movies that's better than it has any right to be.
Aida not Ahmad: I saw this film at the movies when it first came out... movies that featured rodents, like "Willard", "Ben" etc. were popular then. This one actually made me nauseated ! There are not only FROGS ! And the Frogs were the most peaceful !
This title was probably great for sales. I was thinking a horror movie called When Nature Calls would have to be about a killer BM but then I remembered Jim Carrey made that movie and it was pretty scary.
Think about it in this light. It's not a horror film at all. Rather it's a film based on a bunch of ignorant rich people who live on an island that has a great population of frogs, snakes, etc. and they don't want to deal with them.
I rolled over laughing watching the movie Venom (1981) with the real black mamba they used for the movie & an expert handler keeping an eye on the snake during the filming but there are a lot of exotics in the US that have gotten loose & foreign snakes. Yes, these movies are just for fun scary goodness but there's some truth to them. A lot of species are taking over & killing off other animals. Day of the Animals (1977), Grizzly (1977), The Wild Beasts (1984), & other movies u must see! ;)

This looks so awesome!!! Why were trailers in the 70's and 80's so great
I remember renting this TWICE and making my Aunt and Uncle watch it with me at the cottage when I was a kid.
Good times.
I was in panama city fl and I met some of the stars of this movie, they were there promoting {FROGS} My sisters and friends met Sam Elliot {a real hunk!} Joan van Ark and Adam Roark. we got autographed pictures. I don't wanna see a Ray Milland movie without Rosie Grier.
I remember owning this as a kid and really enjoying it. I need to find a copy now and see just how badly it holds up, although I'm sure it'll be entertaining for other reasons. And man, what a poster that movie had.
Very good movie! Watched it a few times already.
56mercgal i totally agree with you about the hand in the frogs mouth and how we should still have drive in out door movies were you can just relax they were awsom! :)
LOL! I saw this in the theater when I was 9! I loved it then and it terrified me. Thanks for posting this.

LOL the tag line for this movie was "Today The Pond, Tomorrow The World"
one of the first horror movies i saw as a kid and it was over a decade old by then. it didnt really scare me but i enjoyed it.
This film scared the crap outta me has a kid a real underrated classic
My fave July 4th movie! Today The Pond , Tomorrow The World!
Absolutely hilarious movie. The ending was a hoot with the phone ringing and Milland screaming, "Who is this?" while in the next room a bunch of frogs are all over the phone...as if they phoned! I'm not making this up....

The animated frog at the end of the movie with a human hand in its mouth scared the shit out of me as a kid! :-[
What's weird is that this film got released on the same date (05/10/1972) as another ecologically-themed film - namely "Silent Running" (one of my favourite sci-fi films.)
It looks like somebody blended the movies "Quicksand", "Snakes", "Spiders", and "Toads" and called the end result "Frogs".
In the end, we all croak.
If Sam had his stache this never would have happened.
Ah yes, the movie that is the best cure for insomnia. Seriously, watching this movie almost bores me to sleep.
I remember seeing this when I was a kid lol. I am going to buy the dvd.
Epic Movie.
Best example to care for your cat and dog, love animals and they will treat you good and no need to kill their master.
the 70's loved there animal apocalypse movies.
Thanks! :)
This movie was doubled-billed with Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster.
Saw this movie when I was a kid... I've had a fear of frogs ever since...
This seems more funny than scary.
I love how everything in this preview is so straight up: humans pollute, frogs are evil, quicksand is more like water than mud
Lol the frogs looked like somebody threw em when they hopped on the cake!
The humans really had it comming.
I love this movie. It was a blast to watch and is one of my favorite killer animal movies.
I love the olds woods and canals in this movie.
I was a kid in the 70s remember this cheesy movie lol but I liked it as well as food of the gods empire of the ants and the swarm
Early Sam Elliott and Joan Van Ark film. Love every campy moment of it. By the way, there aren't any "frogs" in the movie. They are toads. LMAO. The African American sista in the movie is fine....damn. I think she was on different tv shows in the 70's.
She was on an episode of Sanford and Son. Her name is Judy Pace and she's smoking hot.
@moneyindabank it IS on youtube... the link is on the right.
frogs is comming! ^^
This looks fantastic.
I own this movie on Betamax
Imagine how many takes they had to do....."Ok....action!" "Oh my god!! The frogs are com-HAAAAAHA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" "CUT!! take # 37".
I saw this as a kid on tv back in the 70s. It didn't scare me but I liked the animal attack scenes.
Awesome!
Horror flicks from the 70's like, Dawn of the dead Rabid, Last House on Left, Jaws 1 and 2, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Cannibal Holocaust, and Day of The Animals were all exceptional!
Poor Ray Milland. A great actor that was having to do tripe like this in his later years.
Frogs fricken rules! I saw this flick at Miners theatre in Collinsville Il way back in the early 70s. I wish someone would put the whole movie on youtube.
I bought this movie recently and watched it over the weekend. I laughed my ass off. It's so bad it's funny.
I remember seeing this at the movie theater and the poster had a giant frog with a hand in its mouth. I kept waiting and waiting to see the giant frog. Sadly it never appeared except on the poster.
Some people have a great phobia of them.
as a kid I remember being very scared of quicksand and the funny thing is I grew up in Chicago
1:21 Damn Water Moccasins are such a pesky snake.
And of course the irony of this flick is that we're killing off most of the amphibians world wide.
Nick PRAKASH We? Nah. You got it wrong, pal. Just the Frenchies.
I remember seeing this when I was 9 and it scared the bejezus out of me. Especially the tarantula scene. That was the first time that I had seen gore in a movie. What about the music in this movie
The "frogs" in this movie are not even really frogs, they are toads.
Toads are technically frogs.
0:30 -- That frog is MAD lol
The music in this trailer was used in the Tv spot for Dr Jekyll And Sister Hyde.
Oh my God i have actually watched this in it's entirety along with The pig farmers daughter. Check out the trailer on the latter.
Featuring Ray Milland's immortal line, "I *knew* we never shoulda enslaved those Hebrews!"
i have a phobia of frogs; i feel like this movie would freak the shit out of me
As noted below, Sam Elliott with his shirt off. Sweet!
Man...I used to own this movie. Now I can't find it Dx
Always thought this was a pretty good movie. Remember seeing it with a couple of friends at the Drive-Inn when it came out. A few years later when VHS came out I had it in my collection. Windy Moore Totalitarism by the frogs
They used to show this on the channel 7 3:30 Movie, later the 3:00 Movie, in Chicago. It's one of those movies that's better than it has any right to be.
大阪・十三・シアターセブンで2月17日(水)19時半からリバイバル上映会!
i mean... come on.. they don't even bite?
*.. if the sight of them doesn't kill ya... their ribbits will*
Poor Ray Milland -- his career took a nose dive in the 70s. His career highlight was "Dial M for Murder". Then it was all down from there.
FROGS really really really ¬¬
Aida not Ahmad: I saw this film at the movies when it first came out... movies that featured rodents, like "Willard", "Ben" etc. were popular then. This one actually made me nauseated ! There are not only FROGS ! And the Frogs were the most peaceful !
I wonder what the Nostalgia Critic would say if he reviewed this movie
frogs my worst enemies!
Is a classic film
Only a $1.50? That's so cheap. Man I wish it was that price now, I hate paying $9 to go to the theater.
its a Grindhouse!
@MrHarrybawls2009 Have you ever seen Night Of The Lepus
Those aren't frogs, they're toads. XD
Harmontown brought me here.
Lee Launay me too!
GOAT
I think they ment Frogs as in the movie like Frogs the movie is coming.
maravilhoso
Little, beautiful frogs are EATING you!!! :)
It sounds dumb but it's really kinda creepy.
Huh, that doesn't sound like that bad of a double feature.Godzilla v.s The smog monster is one of my favorite movies.
lol someone should have been all like "oh my god its a leaf!" and then people run and scream throughout tokyo
I would like to point out one fact. This movie is loaded with TOADS.....NOT frogs!! Did anybody else notice this?
Damn, I hated this movie. No giant frogs eating people. In fact, only one frog induced death, I think. And the girl gets attacked by a turtle.
I can only say one ting about this movie "riiiiiiiiiiiiighhhht." lol
💫✨ Gr8 movie 🎥 🍿 from 🅱️2️⃣🔚❕ ! 💫✨
I remember seeing this movie years ago, a very young and sexy Sam Elliot.
Awwwww. Poor animals.
This title was probably great for sales.
I was thinking a horror movie called When Nature Calls would have to be about a killer BM but then I remembered Jim Carrey made that movie and it was pretty scary.
How did this movie avoid being on MST3K?
wow in the old days ray milland was a famous actor. his career must've bombed by the early 1970s.
Think about it in this light. It's not a horror film at all. Rather it's a film based on a bunch of ignorant rich people who live on an island that has a great population of frogs, snakes, etc. and they don't want to deal with them.
I think the movie should be called SWAMP
I rolled over laughing watching the movie Venom (1981) with the real black mamba they used for the movie & an expert handler keeping an eye on the snake during the filming but there are a lot of exotics in the US that have gotten loose & foreign snakes. Yes, these movies are just for fun scary goodness but there's some truth to them. A lot of species are taking over & killing off other animals. "Frogs is coming."
Apparently, they hadn't perfected English grammar in the early 1970s.
in nice to nature
