If you see Martin live he does Jiminy Glick still, I had an opportunity to work with him. Just sitting across from him on the edge of the stage going over the show is a very powerful memory for me and watching him run around backstage changing costumes lightning quick to get into his next character while I ran the opening videos is one of the most inspirational things I can think of. The man is a living embodiment of show business, superhuman levels of wit and is just a real joy to be around in person. I think Martin Short and Steve Martin are doing a tour together next year so if you really support and love him you shouldn't miss it
well yeah. please I ask why. I felt kinda insane scrolling not reading comments about that. I am 12 beers hungover. its not fair. to leave me hanging in a pool party like that
Either Netflix demanded Jiminy Glick be nicer to the stars, or Martin Short just truly respects and loves Steve so much that he wanted to express that even has Glick. My money is on the latter.
I love everything Buscemi does! Including this interview......... what class and eloquence! Never knew that side of him. Never really saw him in a personal interview. That shows what a great actor he really is, even beyond what we thought we knew. The contrast is astounding! I'm gonna look up a few of those older movies he mentioned........... well my day is set. Thanks SB! P.S. Glick couldn't do schtick, as Buscemi's professionalism sublimed him. So thanks to MS as well!
Of course, no one has any reason to knock Steve Buscemi. Making fun of him for not going to college, for instance, is funny because Short knows how to make it funny. "Loser!" Buscemi tends to give short answers in all interviews because he's pretty shy and quiet. So Short actually got quite a lot here.
SB is humble -that's why JG could'nt screw with him. JG can only screw with celebrities who think too much of themselves. That's his whole modas operandi -to knock them off their pedestals.
Steve is super cool. And a real hero. I walked by him in NYC, and with a single look and smlle he said "Hello. Yes, I am Steve Buscemi. I can tell youre shocked by this chance encounter, and if you dont mind, im continuing on to where im going, so lets not let it get weird. Have a great day." Took him less than 2 seconds. Legend.
I was in NYC, very bust night, and I am positive Kenan Thompson, and I did the sideways pass. I pointed, and he smiled and that was it. I loved it. Btw, he has that smile smirk.
@@ghostshipone He has a wonderful way about him. Thousands of retarded faces, yet his smile lights up a city. You guys should cherish him. Or push him on the subway tracks. Your call.
there were subtle truths to a few of the questions that i'm sure buscemi was wondering if he should play it straight or not. the question about if he ever wanted to take over a scene because the other actor(s) did not know how to bring it across was terrific. the same about who influenced him as well as that he forgot to mention a director. almost too true.
I LOVE Steve Buscemi, & I love that he plays it as real as you can get here. One time in NYC I stood in line to get a coffee first thing in the morning, & when I turned around there was Steve Buscemi. As real as you can get, just being Steve Buscemi. Has he ever delivered a bad performance? Not on your life.
What an awful format. Constant background noise, people yelling, airplanes flying above. All of this produces absolutely no tension which is what makes this act so great.
3:07 "And I saw you in Ghost World. I think it's one of the great performances in the world!" I love that for some reason. Reminds me of Bill Collins for any Australian viewers.
Bill Collins was a legend, I watched him as a kid and as an adult he would take my calls about where to find rare film posters when I started collecting memorabilia, such a sweet guy
Looks like the sound guy reaaaaallly messed up here. It's all over the place and it's obvious Buscemi's mic isn't well mixed with Glick's. Who are the people chanting and why can I hear them better than the performers?
it sounds like they're at the foot of a roller coaster
Your right, because the sound fades in and out ,it fades when Glick talks .
no shit !! LMAO !!
pretty sure its noise introduced to avoid copyright strikes from automated tools
@@JackMott
Nah, they’re at an event.
And this is Martin Shorts (Glick) channel.
@@JackMott That's a weird choice.
Didn't know Netflix started during an Applebee's happy hour
When asked 'who do you hate', I wish Buscemi said Martin Short - just so we could hear what Glick thinks of Short. 😎
Martin Short is a comedic genius. Martin, bring back the Jiminy Glick Show
He wouldn’t be allowed to say anything. Lib crybabies would shut him down.
@@SonnyGTA Martin Short is a liberal.

"you were born in Brooklyn" "Can I assume to extreme poverty and not a lot of education" How does he come up with this stuff? lol
By looking @ steves teeth.
This question is asked to all who come from Brooklyn.
Not Brooklyn Heights- if only my Grandparents had held onto that Carriage House-
The "not a lot of education" line bowled me over! LOL It looked like Buscemi found it hilarious too!
"you finished high school? But that's like saying 'I rode the bus today!' The way Short delivers it is what makes it hilarious.
It's true. It's weird how Americans say they "graduated" from high school as if it's an achievement.
Steve is a magnificent human being. I love this guy
How dare you sir
Salt of the earth.
Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful.
I love Steve, he’s always in such great tv and movies. Steve is awesome
He seems just lovely 😊
"No, I won."
"Oh that's right! You won, but you should have lost!"
Sooooo good
Jiminy ought to interview Martin Short.
bR41N. Absolutely. It wouldn't have the spontaneity, but I'd like to see the insults and comebacks.
Martin Short would never be interviewed by this un armed so called interviewer. Never!
It’s like asking your dad to interview Santa Claus
@SonnyGTA How so?
You got one for Reservoir Dogs, so there wasn't a big competition that year?
You have Martin Short and Steve Buscemi and you can't spring for lavaliers?!??
oh my god i can't stop watching these!
ME TOO!! Im doing that today at work!!!
lol I'm there now
He's just side-splitting funny!

very very under rated, is mr martin short :)

Martin Short = genius
It didn't feel like he was going full glick here. He was tired or something.
It was the loud, crazy environment.
@@finnibertlunchiken7792 I kind of prefer it for some reason. him nonchalantly insulting people cracks me up
He likes Steve, and also it's hard to go full glick on buscemi because of how chill he is
It was fantastic.
Lol Steve is too nice for the glick treatment. Martin's like "you won it, but you didn't deserve it" and just gets "yeah I guess not"
Jiminy looks like Harry Caray.
4:09 - Glick: "Well, I suppose he is, but there's not a hair to be found." Buscemi (not knowing just what to say): "Ahm ..."
“It was just you and who, uh, Pauly Shore?” 😂😂😂
Martin Short's references are impressive ..and most of his improved lines are sheer genius
His improved lines are fantastic, but his unimproved lines aren't quite as good.

“Oh that’s right, you SHOULDA lost” 😂🤣
I imagined a random pool party off camera playing water volleyball completely ignoring the fact buschimi and Glick were right next to them.

One day she came into the room in a stupor and she said, "Get the hell out!!!" so we had to move.
Where the hell are they-a sports bar?
Every single Jiminy Glick video makes me laugh out loud! So hilarious! This one less than most, but I'm a big Steve Beshemi fan.
This one less than most 😁
Steve's very low key persona is swamped by the noise. Looks like it was an off the cuff thing.
Either Netflix demanded Jiminy Glick be nicer to the stars, or Martin Short just truly respects and loves Steve so much that he wanted to express that even has Glick. My money is on the latter.
I think Martín had trouble with it because he’s such a nice guy 🥹
Was this filmed in an Olive Garden after church?
"You had a crush on her, and you wanted to crush her."
Think Glick might be reflecting there a bit.

What a pain the audio mixing was.
For Jiminy Glick, this was like a real interview.
I got the impression that he shoved how much he respects Buscemi.

I wonder if Netflix sponsored this?
Jiminy and Buscemi - two greats.
Omg the way they keep turning up the volume on the crowd noise whenever Buscemi speaks & then turning it down again for Jiminy. Lmao.
Why did they film a Glick interview backstage at a Metallica concert?
Back in the day, I was a voting member of the Independent Spirit Awards. Great memories!
Steve is quick on his feet.
Brilliant Martin Short. Excellent actor Steve Buscemi.♥️
Steve is very intimidating on screen, yet just a regular guy.
As big a fan as I am of Martin Short and his Jiminy Glick interviews, the Netflix episodes are horrid. (Am highly critical of sound quality.)
What the hell is all that noise in the background ??
Sounds like a convention or some shit

Yes he has. For example, his performance here. Utter garbage: gave Short nothing to work with.
damnit what's with the noise track in the background ?
It's not a track, it's ambient noise from this live event (2008 Independent Spirit Awards).
"...it's about an awkward interview that doesn't go well...well, like this!" 🤣
delivered and received so dry, it was perfect
I am now 56 and these 2 are CLASSIC !!
Is this a bootleg from a department store window? What the heck is all that background talking?

its like the soudtrack to my game Cities:Skylines when you zoom in and out
He seems sweet.....and definitely talented

This would have been so much better if it had not been filmed in the middle of a convention hall.
What an awful format. Constant background noise, people yelling, airplanes flying above. All of this produces absolutely no tension which is what makes this act so great.
The sweat on the back of Jiminy's collar and lapel 😂
I would like to have seen the wet T-Shirt contest going on off-screen!
They really can't get MARTIN SHORT a sound proofed set?
Good job Netflicks.
Are they at the North Hollywood Public Pool?
Gawd, which of Short's characters is the best? Jiminy Glick? Ed Grimley? Nathan Thurm? Ned Nederlander? Franck Eggelhoffer? So great.

These Netflix Glick interviews are fun and funny. Buscemi is truly a great actor director "Good boy" Hahaha
I can't make it through this. I love Buscemi and Short, but I can't hear them for the crowd chanting in the background.
Sounds like they’re at a swap meet.
1:44 he asks all the questions at once haha
And somehow Steve finds one in there to answer
Who was the sound guy Helen Keller?
