Thank you so much for watching! Please share this video with anyone in your life that might suffer from hearing loss, or anyone that might benefit from a reminder about how powerful tech can be! You can really share this with anyone, eh? :)
I've never seen this and neither has my brother. He's deaf as well, born deaf, and has a cochlear and I would've never found this if you didn't cover it. Thank you. I'm going to introduce this to him!
I have two kanso 2 Cochlear implants, when connected to an android or iPhone they stay connected within a ten metre radius. While I am working I can hear the phone ringing without straight to me without annoying anyone because I am the only one that can hear it, enjoy music wirelessly with a button press, and easily get away with anything because I don't obviously have earbuds in. It's like a sweet superpower for those who take full advantage of Cochlear implants. Also if you're a gamer or streamer it confuses people because you don't have huge headphones lol.
I just got my surgery done. I lost my heart about 13 years ago. Eating aids never helped. Just got the surgery done yesterday. I can't the exterior part to stick on to the implant. What may be the issue?
i love this! my dad went lost his hearing when he was in his early 30’s and has been deaf ever since. for many years it held him back from many job opportunities. bring social and communicating with others as well as listening to music and watching shows or movies normally. tomorrow he is scheduled to get the surgery and implant and i’m praying for the best outcome. this video gives me hope! ❤️
I work for cochlear , I touch these products on daily basis . it awesome to see the products we produce brings smile to their faces . And thanks for bringing this video 🤜
I wear a cochlear bone anchored hearing aid (BAHA for short) and it's great, I love it as I can listen to music without anyone knowing. More importantly I no longer have to find a quiet place when someone calls me.
@saiftakrim10101 It varies per person, for me it's clear enough for speach but I still struggle a bit in noisey places at times. Luckily I can sort of lip read people.
I just found this video. I had mine turned on two months ago, and now I hear everything. It’s a truly unique technology. I was completely deaf for about a year. I had some hearing left in my last year, but it finally stopped working. Anyone who’s HoH should look into this.
My sister is in the same situation since 2017 but we can't yet get her the cochlear implant cause of the war situation in our country i hope that we'll be able to see her hearing again thank you for the insight of the cochlear implant life.
Hi, i have a young man in south AMERICA, PARAGUAY WHOM NEED REALLY BADLY HELP TO have implant bad very very poor 😢, is anybody knows anybody whom can help ,in the name of Jesus
Well I have 3 weeks to go before the surgery for a Nucleus 7 and they gave my appointment for the activation 4 weeks later I can’t wait but also they told me that everyone is different the day of the activation. Thanks for sharing your experience.
i hope they make eye implants for blind people too, at the very least so they will be able to see in black white and gray would be such a huge help for all those lives affected by blindness.
I am SSD with a hearing aid in my right ear. I just had my MRI of my left ear in the final stage to confirm I am eligible for my cochlear I have heard nothing from my left ear for the last 12-14 years. I am going thru the VA and they are fantastic
Thank you for your video on the cochlea implant. My audiologist has told me I will be a candidate for implants in a couple years because hearing aids are no longer helpful in social settings. Your video post was two years ago. My question is has their been upgrades to the Nuclea 7? (I think that’s what it’s called)
first of all, congratulations on the video. I liked it, but I was left with a doubt .... how long does the battery last, or the batteries of this cochlear implant 7? I'm Portuguese, but I'm not good at English :)
Thanks a lot for sharing. VIDEOS like this gives a lot of people hopes. And also make us understand that we cannot take everything for granted. Life changes 360 degrees for one day to another..Big shout to you and Skyler putting this together. I came here as I'm doing my research as I just lost my hearing sense a week a go..Yes during this already though times I lost my hearing. I'm praying to run with Skyler same luck. THANK YOU.
I am planning a visit the audiologist as well since I was born deaf from my left ear and many time I have to ask people to repeat stuff. I feel bad, but I don't believe that it’s my fault, so definitely I want to improve that.
And this is why I am studying to become an audiologist =] It's interesting the direction the tech is moving forward and phone connectivity is a big thing. Its good to see Google catching up with Apple. Also watching children having their Cochlear implant switch on is an amazing experience.
@@FreeRangeIce why on earth should a patient be doing the job of an audiologist? Headphones still typically work with a cochlear implant, and most already have the ability to connect via a cable anyway. I guess Bluetooth connectivity is novel but it's a bit overhyped in this video, getting a pair of Bluetooth headphones doesn't change someone's life.
@@johnm91326 what exactly is your problem? It can make a huge difference if you can stream a phone call direct to your implant. The quality of sound could make the difference between being able to use the phone or not. Also streaming music is much clearer than using standard headphones through a cochlear mic. It is also very good that he did this video as then potential cochlear implant recipients can see what to expect.
Waiting for my operation. I went from hearing to being deaf I six months this video gives me hope that I will be able to hear again. Thanks Frank.
Did it work for you?

These have been in use for decades, maybe next week Josh will discover pacemakers.
Not smart ones that connect to smartphones and can be programmed
