    i love this! my dad went lost his hearing when he was in his early 30’s and has been deaf ever since. for many years it held him back from many job opportunities. bring social and communicating with others as well as listening to music and watching shows or movies normally. tomorrow he is scheduled to get the surgery and implant and i’m praying for the best outcome. this video gives me hope! ❤️

      I've never seen this and neither has my brother. He's deaf as well, born deaf, and has a cochlear and I would've never found this if you didn't cover it. Thank you. I'm going to introduce this to him!

    I just found this video. I had mine turned on two months ago, and now I hear everything. It’s a truly unique technology. I was completely deaf for about a year. I had some hearing left in my last year, but it finally stopped working. Anyone who’s HoH should look into this.

    I wear a cochlear bone anchored hearing aid (BAHA for short) and it's great, I love it as I can listen to music without anyone knowing. More importantly I no longer have to find a quiet place when someone calls me.

      @saiftakrim10101 It varies per person, for me it's clear enough for speach but I still struggle a bit in noisey places at times. Luckily I can sort of lip read people.

    I have two kanso 2 Cochlear implants, when connected to an android or iPhone they stay connected within a ten metre radius. While I am working I can hear the phone ringing without straight to me without annoying anyone because I am the only one that can hear it, enjoy music wirelessly with a button press, and easily get away with anything because I don't obviously have earbuds in. It's like a sweet superpower for those who take full advantage of Cochlear implants. Also if you're a gamer or streamer it confuses people because you don't have huge headphones lol.

    And this is why I am studying to become an audiologist =] It's interesting the direction the tech is moving forward and phone connectivity is a big thing. Its good to see Google catching up with Apple. Also watching children having their Cochlear implant switch on is an amazing experience.

    Thank you for your video on the cochlea implant. My audiologist has told me I will be a candidate for implants in a couple years because hearing aids are no longer helpful in social settings. Your video post was two years ago. My question is has their been upgrades to the Nuclea 7? (I think that’s what it’s called)

    I am planning a visit the audiologist as well since I was born deaf from my left ear and many time I have to ask people to repeat stuff. I feel bad, but I don't believe that it’s my fault, so definitely I want to improve that.

      @@FreeRangeIce why on earth should a patient be doing the job of an audiologist?
      Headphones still typically work with a cochlear implant, and most already have the ability to connect via a cable anyway. I guess Bluetooth connectivity is novel but it's a bit overhyped in this video, getting a pair of Bluetooth headphones doesn't change someone's life.

    • @Goldfinch241
      @Goldfinch241 4 роки тому +1

      @@johnm91326 what exactly is your problem? It can make a huge difference if you can stream a phone call direct to your implant. The quality of sound could make the difference between being able to use the phone or not. Also streaming music is much clearer than using standard headphones through a cochlear mic.
      It is also very good that he did this video as then potential cochlear implant recipients can see what to expect.
