I regret staying up to midnight to do these, then having nothing in the morning … and yet every night end up doing exactly that. When’s the weekly coming?
Haha I'm usually up at midnight too. But other daily games I play like wordle I do in the evening when I'm relaxing and watching my shows. This I can't do, it's usually done when it comes out lol
Liked this one, tried lots of different ways until I realised leaders was wordplay. Very satisfying. Video described my thought process perfectly although it took me longer!
a nice couple of red herrings - the HR looks like perfect fodder, and i've sseen multiple crosswords ask for 'Don' as a short synonym for a mafia leader. 'to' being part of the fodder was a nice touch
Yes! Spotted leaders and immediately looked back at the previous words, of which there are five, and sure enough it spelled out the answer that matched the, deliberately misleading, definition.
Definitely a case of ignore the surface for this one! Spent a while trying to get "dons" for the gang leaders fit with HR to try get get a word for "object to" before figuring it out
I appreciate the discussion about wrong paths and dead ends here. Enjoying being lost in the maze is the fun of solving it. Otherwise, it’s just a path. Paths are boring in comparison.
Instantly identified the definition and was able to get the answer straight away. I answered in less than 3 seconds. This time last year a cryptic crossword clue would hurt my brain just looking at it. Thank you to Minute Cryptic for opening up a whole new world.
Super quick. I actually got it from the definition, then saw quickly how the word play worked. As always, only a matter of time before I'm stumped again!!
Got it instantly from recognising the clue. Spotted a few initials and then worked out the indicator. Still, struggled with ‘si’ yesterday so good for my par score 😃
My first time doing the puzzle after seeing your vids on TikTok for a while, was really fun and tough. Spent a while trying to put HR into some synonym for "gang leaders" thinking maybe notorious meant a famous example of them or something 😅
In the beginning, I thought that "interviewing" was a wordplay indicator meaning "look in between/among" a word/words. Luckily I quickly abandoned that path and saw "leaders" as the correct wordplay indicator. A tricky labyrinth indeed!
I'm glad for the explanation as i absolutely went down all those ane other options - like that onject to waw a reversral indicator and coming up with synonyms for everything, but got there eventually without hints!
I stared at HRing for a while hoping a synonym for 'object to' until realising I needed just the leaders and the word 'to'. Garden path well trodden in the hunt for traps of which there were none.
I wanted to think but fluked by mistake😭 only thing I thought was, if the context says object means refuse, then that's definitely not it, object is implying something else
Object -> thing was my very first instinct before I finished reading the clue. And then ofc leaders being first letters was easy wordplay to justify it
I started by deciding that I would assume for now that object is the definition, and also assume that it was not the grammatical form that it appeared to be in the surface reading. Because it never is, eh Liam ;) Thought about nouns that are synonyms for object, came up with thing, noticed the initial letters of the rest of the clue, job done.
I got this really quickly because I misread object (v) as object (n) and then the sentence didn't make sense so I reread it as object (v) but that made me realize it was probably misdirection and I was supposed to think it was object (v) but the clue needed object (n) and the first synonym I could think of for object (n) made the wordplay obvious because it was the answer
So happy I got an easy one after being played two times in a row ! (Also are any of you trying to crack them even though english is not your first language?)
I got this immediately - which sort of makes up a tiny bit for yesterday, with its "You don't need any special knowledge, unless it is related to actor Johnny Depp" ....
It's six past midnight, I wanted to check if I did yesterdays clue, but it's a new one. So I closed it, then the answer came up in my head, I reopened the website and answered it. I thought this was a fairly easy one.
I just guessed Thing in 10 seconds as a joke, because I assumed the definition was Object. After 2 minutes I got no further than that and checked it. edit: I feel dumb, I did check one or two words for their leading letter, but not all...
I regret staying up to midnight to do these, then having nothing in the morning … and yet every night end up doing exactly that. When’s the weekly coming?
Same! It's ridiculous. We gain nothing.
Haha, I'm normally up past midnight anyway but do get excited when I realised the new day has begun and the new puzzle is there :)
Finally one i got straight away 😎
Haha I'm usually up at midnight too. But other daily games I play like wordle I do in the evening when I'm relaxing and watching my shows. This I can't do, it's usually done when it comes out lol
Same I usually do it at 12:01 from my bed lol😂
Got it instantly but didn't know how. A bit of a relief after taking all day to work out yesterday's clue.
Leaders - nice clear wordplay. Thank you. I really needed an easy one this morning!
Thx so much for keeping your content going. I’m really enjoying learning to understand cryptic clues.
Liked this one, tried lots of different ways until I realised leaders was wordplay. Very satisfying. Video described my thought process perfectly although it took me longer!
I’m new to these and was worried for a sec that ‘interviewed’ was a wordplay indicator that I’d never seen before.
a nice couple of red herrings - the HR looks like perfect fodder, and i've sseen multiple crosswords ask for 'Don' as a short synonym for a mafia leader. 'to' being part of the fodder was a nice touch
Don for gang leader ..noted for the future lol
Disappointed when I immediately but randomly get it without knowing how
It is such an odd feeling, right??! 🤣 Solving the definition but not the wordplay just isn’t as satisfying!
Same. I just guessed and was pleasantly surprised. Now I want to know how I was meant to do it.
Yes! Spotted leaders and immediately looked back at the previous words, of which there are five, and sure enough it spelled out the answer that matched the, deliberately misleading, definition.

This one made me laugh this morning when the simplicity of it finally kicked in.
I saw the word object and typed thing 2 seconds in 😂
You and me both, I didn't even consider the wordplay
Super quick. I actually got it from the definition, then saw quickly how the word play worked. As always, only a matter of time before I'm stumped again!!
Got it first go purely on the conjecture that object was a noun masquerading as a verb. Then had to watch the video to see how I got it really.😅
Great, now I have to wait 24 hours till the next one 😂
Got it instantly from recognising the clue. Spotted a few initials and then worked out the indicator. Still, struggled with ‘si’ yesterday so good for my par score 😃

So happy that I got this one!
Looking forward to the other features that are teased on the app.
Thanks for making this content. :)
That was the first clue I got almost immediately by using what I’ve been learning from here. Thanks.
Had "cosa nostra" ("our thing") in mind as a possible secondary hint.
I got the answer once I knew it was an Object. Then I worked backwards to understand the wordplay. Nice!
I was actually so confused at this clue but eventually saw LEADERS and got it
It's so obvious and I never would have got it. That's what makes a great cryptic clue for me.
I did go down different paths. Once you recognise 'leaders' as a wordlplay indicator it's straightforward.
GOT IT INSTANTLY!!!!!! HAAHAHAA THANKS JEREMY
Must be a Christmas miracle ✨ - got it! 😊
Object -> thing was my very first instinct before I finished reading the clue. And then ofc leaders being first letters was easy wordplay to justify it
I started by deciding that I would assume for now that object is the definition, and also assume that it was not the grammatical form that it appeared to be in the surface reading. Because it never is, eh Liam ;)
Thought about nouns that are synonyms for object, came up with thing, noticed the initial letters of the rest of the clue, job done.
I saw the Murdle book in the background!
Got it immediately the moment I saw leaders (Wordplay). 🎉
Wow. Got this one before I even finished reading the clue.
Got the answer quickly as a synonym for “object” had to come here for the why!😂
And boom. I’m back. -2. 🎉
@MinuteCryptic as well as everything else, I just love your motion graphic work in these. After Effects?
I guessed “thing” and had no idea why I was correct until watching this 😂
Got the synonym for object but couldn’t understand the wordplay!
Eaasy one. Thank you x
didnt even read the whole clue, just saw "object" got the answer immediately 😅
I read “object” and “hr” and somehow got it immediately
Got stuck with gang leaders meaning dons and then scrambling dons cause 'notorious' and then finally guessed based on definition:)
I think I’m finally getting the hang of this (I’m definitely gonna fail tomorrow)
Planet's top doctor praises hospital taking a piss following objection = North Pole
I spotted leaders early and then noticed the first letters spelling thing.
This was quite an easy one for me. 2 under par. Leaders was a quick word play indicator
Got it 1 under par, didnt have a clue how it was thing
So happy I got an easy one after being played two times in a row ! (Also are any of you trying to crack them even though english is not your first language?)
Think this is my all time quickest result 😅
I got this immediately - which sort of makes up a tiny bit for yesterday, with its "You don't need any special knowledge, unless it is related to actor Johnny Depp" ....
Are you saying you've never heard of him before now? I feel like he ranks pretty highly in terms of name recognition.
@@Dr.Death8520I saw one film of his. Not a name that would come to mind.
It's six past midnight, I wanted to check if I did yesterdays clue, but it's a new one. So I closed it, then the answer came up in my head, I reopened the website and answered it. I thought this was a fairly easy one.
Every time I think I understand how to do these it's a new technique or idea 😂.
To be fair this is only the 5th one I've tried! 😂
I actually love such clues
I tried the other reading of 'object' and immediately got it and worked backwards.
My niece and I got this in approx 1 second flat.
I just guessed Thing in 10 seconds as a joke, because I assumed the definition was Object.
After 2 minutes I got no further than that and checked it.
edit: I feel dumb, I did check one or two words for their leading letter, but not all...
Got it ONE. 10/10
Although this was an easy one, I still didn't see the S in "leaders" for like half a minute
I needed an easy one after yesterday
I'd generally like to put HR as both letters, but obviously that's not what to do here. Got without hint or letter.
Back to basics!
Nice and easy one today.
I got it in first go!! 🎉🎉
30 seconds today
Do the hard ones have more views and less likes, and the easier ones have low views but high likes? Just thinking lol
Ta da!
Is that a self portrait in the background?
That's very clearly Vincent van Gogh 😂
First time ever u have never got a clue!
Easy after yesterday’s stinker.
this could've been fun if object to meant the object of the following sentence
like parts of a sentence
Meh not a fan of these ones in minute cryptic format. Nice to get one on a full crossword, but too easy for single clues
