- Ok, not really a detailed shootout between these two popular brands, but hopefully at least some food for thought for those of you wanting to get into 3D printing.

Actually, you were spot on for the young guys. Me and all my friends just wanna smoke weed, and play video games while we wait for our 3D printers to finish our gun parts. This is the new "American dream." 3D printing guns, and wanting to know more about rifling is what brought me here.
That cable on the Ender 3V3 KE behind the bed, distance it more from back so it moves free or your printer will be damaged very soon.
I run everything on Prusas. The key is reliability and dependability. Just start print and move on to other tasks in the shop.
Bambu does that at a much cheaper price and better quality in my opinion
I wanted a Prusa for so long but got the Bambu A1 because of cost and it’s amazing. I had two Anet A8’s and then an Ender which were pretty crappy compared to the Bambu. Great machine but now I want the P1S
Serbu is printing
Is it Ender or Bambu?
What would Nambu do?
- a haiku
I just got a qidi x max3 and I love it. Previously I've had an ender 3v2 and an ender 3s1 pro. The qidi blows them both away. With imput shaping and an actively heated chamber it's awesome. Highly recommend!
Thing with the Bambu, every design you print goes to China first.
@@tobyandersen6612 why should one have to go back to 20th century sneakernet to use your printer? There is no need for the cloud to print. It is essentially an attempt at vendor lock in and in this case, most likely CCP spying.
Does it actually?
@@Xxx_Lord_Poop_xxX Does it go to the cloud? Yes. Technically this cloud is in the US or Europe - but also legally, every Chinese company is at the behest of their government and there is no guarantee that your designs will not end up in China and I'd bet money that they all do. Industrial espionage is a thing at a state level there.
@@UnCoolDad And, when printing firearm parts, the user may be inadvertently violating ITAR.
@@netpackrat I'd argue that if the part you are printing falls under ITAR, it would be Bambu who is violating it if they send the data outside of the USA.
Looks real nice like mark
An Ender 5 produced five bullet collators with electronic switches, magazine flags, bolt holders, tool holders, ammo holders, and other things, ahem. Not all printing filament is created alike, regardless of their labeling. Some printers just don't like certain types/brands.
A LOT of people have started using CAD because of 3D printing. It's a great way to introduce people to manufacturing in general. From there you can start to think about more complex subtractive processes or even tooling processes like aluminum extrusion (my favorite)
3D printed gun movement: Wants ability to make their own guns, anonymously, and free from surveillance.
Also 3D printed gun movement: Gravitates to Bambu Labs printers, which keep an encrypted log file, and prevent the user from reading it or knowing where it is being sent. By default forces you to print through the cloud or lose full use of all the features and ability to update machine firmware.
Mark, I hope you are using your Bambus in offline mode, else you may be inadvertently violating ITAR since your data is going through servers owned by the Chinese.
Direct drive and up to 300 too! I just checked it out and I’m impressed for 299!
I printed a frame to hook a welding helmet glass to some safety glasses for the solar eclipse coming up!!!!.and i also printed out a polycast AUG receiver and casted it in aluminum cuz screw cf nylon. Everyone knows what printers are truly for. Guns baby
3D printing got me into not just drafting but also machining. I have a degree now and work has been hard to find in my area, but I hope I get to use 3D printing as much as possible in the future.
I bought a ender 3 s1 pro from comgrow for half off its retail price. They periodically have returns and which are usually a dummy that doesnt know how to set it up and blame the company for making a bad printer. I paid $250 for a $500 printer that had nothing wrong with it. I still need to buy a hardened steel nozzle, but other than that, its ready to print carbon fiber nylon and other harder to print filaments. My current project is building a belt fed semi auto(i know) with rpd top cover and feed tray and AKM parts and the 3d printer and some nylon will definitely come in handy
Thanks, Mark 👍
When I was still working, AutoCAD was my favorite program to use. If I was having a bad day, a little AutoCAD would pick me right up.
I have two Ender 3 Pros myself, they're reliable machines and easy to maintain and diagnose... if you know what you're doing. You can get excellent results with budget printers if you're an enthusiast, but for most they'll be headaches to manage. I'd never recommend it to a casual consumer, and if they insist I'll make it very well clear to them that they require a healthy time investment to use.
Thank you for your'e work, I'll choose the Prusa it costs more but the czech's do very good quality.
Prusa hasn't innovated in years and they're about to lose their lunch to bambulab
Ive got 2 of the ender 3 Max printers and theyre pretty darn solid. prototyped several guns on them. you have to understand that things like the build surface, PET bowden tube, nozzle, extruder gear, they are all wear componentss and you should just have a few on hand because they break after a few months continuous usage. and my printers basically never sleep.
I have owned several 3d printers. Bambu labs definitely is great. Not perfect, but easy to use. I have an A1. By far, best 3d printer I have ever used. Never owned Prusa or higher end machines. User experience of Bambu Labs is where they shine.
Having messed with many printers enders and prusas and bambu is where it's at its just so user-friendly if you want to print and not print mods and tinker they are the brand
@@samellowery I like being able to print more and fiddle less. Create a few of my own designs, but mostly use existing files. Bambu printer puts a smile on my face instead of a frown!
@@RealMechDruid exactly it's so easy makes 3d printing fun have more time to use the stuff printed I'm looking to replace my other enders and get more bambu lab printers.
5:56. I get it, man.
Balance, is one of the keys to life.
P.S.R. print shoot repeat, hoffman tactical, Ivan prints guns, etc., are some good creators, and discoverable here on them tubes, but obviously stiffled so their other odysee-type sites are where it's at.
I've been using my Ender 3 for years for gun and FPV drone parts. I really want to get a Bambu Labs X1 Carbon, but damn they're expensive. At work I use a Fortus 450mc where I print race car parts. I learned Fusion 360 CAD when I bought my Ender 3. I am so happy that I learned how to do CAD. I can't draw for shit, but I can draw in CAD. It is so awesome that a picture you have in your head can be drawn on a computer then turned into a real part with a 3D printer. My dad's old backhoe carburetor was missing the arm for the choke. I took some measurements then drew it up in CAD, 3D printed the part, made sure it fit, then recreated the print out of aluminum on my mini mill.
Hahaha! Yeah, I always end up dropping my work coat on the floor by my boots. I could really use some cool designed hangers
"The stuff's a real pain in the butt if you don't know what you're doing" . . . the epiphany . . . . . . . .
Until now my Fudd ass had never seen a 3D printer. Lol
If anyone wants a 3d printer and has a micro center near by you can get a coupon off their website and get an ender 3v2 for 99 bucks. I picked one up and did about 60 bucks in upgrades and it’s prettt freakin sweet. I printed a few toys for the kids and some silly stuff for the ole lady to get the hang of it but it’s pretty straight forward. The cool thing is you can dive as deep as you want into it from designing your own stuff to just printing files that are already out there. If you can use a search engine pretty well you can find just about anything you could wanna print and tons of videos on how to do this or that and even peoples print settings so you really can be pretty lazy about it.
I’ve been looking at picking up the Bambu labs printer just to be able to print cool multi color stuff , 1300 is hard to swallow just for a hobby though.
Bambulab minia1 is like only $500
serbu tube
I got a couple of antique 3D printers.
If I were to get another it would be a resin printer.
If I won the lottery my next printer would be a metal printer of some kind.
I'd suggest a CNC, or a manual milling machine and a lathe. Or you could look into metal casting. In addition to sand casting, they make specialty filaments that are supposed to burn out cleanly for investment casting.
@@arthurmoore9488 I've got a couple CNC mills and lathes that I converted to run from home computers a couple of decades ago.
Thank you for a very informative and interesting video six stars brother
If you're looking for a project, you could print me a set of change gears for my little Atlas 12-in!
UPS prints stuff, check it out
Make us an FGC9 Mark.
The Bambu A1 seems like a better deal than that ender to me. Seems like there's always a problem with Creality machines no matter how nice they seem.
Mr serbu have you ever thought about replacing some of the non pressure bearing components of firearm with 3d printed parts?
How strong and detailed can this thing print?
Miniatures with details?
A grip that can take repeated shocks?
Loads depend on material and print angle. They have great compressive strength, but weaker (relative) sheer strength. Detail or resolution is determined by the diameter of the nozzle. To get extra fine detail you may need to resort to a resin printer which has it's own trade-offs.
@@nickkennedy9034 I am sure you know this, so my comment is not directed at you, but rather at other readers who should be aware that the resin used by SLA printers is pretty toxic stuff. FDM is not without health hazards, but they are far more manageable.
@@netpackrat Oh yeah that should be made clear. 3D printing gets very carcinogenic once you start using weirder materials. Use these in a well ventilated area with proper PPE as recommended by the manufacturer and medical officials.
👍🐿👍
Where are the best STL files for guns?
Damn Mark I have a ton of questions
@2:25, are those BFG 50 A handguards behind the printer?
@thejoey468983 Close: BFG-50A receivers.
ayy ill count that as a win@@markserbu
What is better than getting a new plastic gift every day?
What about 4D printers?
;-)
Future 3d prinited BFG-50A suppressors?😢
✋🏼🇦🇺👍🏼
To bad that you can't use the 3D printers off line, no Internet, closed system.
Most of them can do just that. The Ender doesn't need internet access to work. The Bambulabs printers are another matter the software is using the net and make them simple to use. But without a bit of tweaking they will contact outside servers. But look at all the Prusa, Ender and a lot of other manufacturers where the main communication is a CF card loaded directly to the printer with the data for the parts you're printing. Nothing needs to go on the net unless you intentionally does so.
@@blahorgaslisk7763so ender 3 runs offline? I am looking for a decent printer that does NOT use interwebs
Forcing people to draw things with real pencils is awesome.

For such a Fudd Boomer, you seem alright Mark.
Mark, you're not a Fudd. Boomer, maybe, if you were born before 1965
first?
Mark, markforged and prusa xl. Dont buy communist toys unless they are milsurps. :)
I assume you consume nothing from China then 🤣
What’s it matter tbh?
Ender suck
I did not know your Mom's name was ender!
Theres a feature in bambu slicer or orca slicer called variable layer height that can kill a shitload of print time but maintain better curves
Wait, you don't smoke pot Mark? I definitely would have guessed otherwise. haha =) I'll have to send you some kinda sticky-icky maple syrup flavoured buds from up here in Canadia Land to try out man! haha
I have several fdm and sla printers. I got my ender 3 in 2018 and its still the one i use the most. Its heavily modified now, but thats what is so great about it. You get a pretty decent printer out of the box, but you have the ability to very easily upgrade it and make it equivalent to much more expensive printers. Mine now is direct drive, on linear rails, runs octoprint, has a bl touch and many other mods.
There are a ton of great options for printers, but you really can't go wrong with a cheap ender 3.
I agree with you if hacking on a 3D printer is fun for you. I had two Anet A8’s (Prusa i3 clones) that I messed with for a few years. Get two so you have one working as you attempt upgrades on the other lol.
I know have a Bambu A1 and it’s an appliance. Auto bed leveling, direct drive, filament detection and auto celebration are built in. It will tell you when belts are loose and when to lubricate the bed axis rails.
Bambu’s wiki is really good and replacement parts are in the $5-$30 range. I just ordered some replacement parts after I damaged them melting out a hot-end blob(it was bad because my son was retrying the print from his mom’s house and I didn’t check between failures). Hot end $20, hot end fan $12 and part cooling fan $10. Shipped free.
That seems very reasonable imo
You’re no fudd Mark 😍
