Vincent himself alluded to his sunflower pictures as to symbolizing "gratitude". Referring to the intensity with which he painted, and precisely in connection with the masterfully constructed paintings of the sunflowers, he says that, face to face with nature, he is seized with such excitement as to fall into fainting spells.
Van Gogh paintings multi-sensory experience Abu Dhabi national Theatre - Starting from 14th Jan 2018 Dubai Design District - Starting from 11 MAR 2018.
I don't work in the art field but I found muself listening over and over to how the Amsterdam curator pronounced Van Gogh so that I could learn how to say that correctly and not the "Italian way", so I really don't understand how this expert thinks it is right to pronounce it the American way. Honestly, I also dislike the frame too... but I like this video relay anyway, that was an awesome idea, shame on me I've missed it live!
The iconic status and stratospheric prices of these paintings places them beyond criticism from the art establishment, but they are seriously overrated.
Ridiculous frame ! Just an embarassment . Totally wrong period and so out of place it makes one wonder who gets paid to curate this piece ? The frame should be simple and painted and say nothing about the work .
Madam, who is ‘Vincent Van Go’ ? Why not simply use the normal pronunciation of ‘Van Gogh’ and NOT the American ‘Van Go’ 🤦♂️ All of Europe laughs at you … Ps. The Tokyo sunflowers are considered by many scholars to be a copy/fake
I have to say that the Philadelphia vcopy is my favorate of the five. This was a wonderful 5 part program.
Lovely synopsis. I think this Sunflowers' version may be my favourite. 🙂
Thanks for the professional sharing. Knowing more about the masterpiece is really excited.

Thank you for posting this informative presentation of the Sunflowers.
thank you for this ,so sad I missed it when it was live but very grateful that each is available to view now
That frame competes with the painting. The best frame is the National Gallery's because its simplicity makes the artwork shine even more.
❤gracias vincent😊.
Don’t forget the three flower is extant

Crazy frame ! I keep looking at that
Is the painting authentic? Did Van Gogh actually paint this? Just making sure it’s not a replica.
The frame overshadows the painting, it's ridiculous. This masterpiece deserves a better presentation.
The iconic status and stratospheric prices of these paintings places them beyond criticism from the art establishment, but they are seriously overrated.
The colors look very... soupy.
That is an unfair observation, there are at least 57 multiple colour tones in this painting
@@JohnJSteinbeck So does soup.
Who is that person six feet to my right that she is talking to? And yes, that frame is one hideous monster.

I like the frame size, but ugly detailing in it. Imo

Ps.
The Tokyo sunflowers are considered by many scholars to be a copy/fake
But the four museums included in the lectures belive the Tokyo version to be authentic.
What a horrible frame it spoils the painting
