  • New access points - ✅! Multi-Gigabit Ethernet cables - ✅! Low noise floor - Low noise floor? In this week’s webinar, see how RF noise impacts your Wi-Fi speeds!
RF noise from other devices operating in the same frequency band can interfere with Wi-Fi signals, causing data collisions and retransmissions which reduces throughput and overall performance of the Wi-Fi network. That’s because a lower Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) causes wireless client devices difficulty distinguishing the Wi-Fi signal from background noise.
Watch as we take the technical nature of radio waves and make it simple to understand using the power of the integrated spectrum analyzer of the Ekahau Sidekick 2. Not only does the Sidekick 2 measure noise from its spectrum analyzer to calculate SNR, it also can detect sources of interference from non-Wi-Fi devices like microwaves, wireless video cameras, and more!
Curious to know how you can minimize your RF noise and maximize your network speeds? Join us as we unravel the mysteries of RF noise and interference so that you can get the fastest wireless network possible.

Wait, I'm confused, the last part of the demo whereby you're saying noise affects the speed of WiFi.
Your noise generator was effectively at close to 100% channel utilization coz I see the colour is dark red/black and it's within -85/80dBm, going as high as -75dBm.
Since wireless uses CSMA/CA, wouldn't your tablet simply be sending request to send probes and getting a response that the medium/channel is busy and rinse and repeat? How was it able to consistently transmit at even 20Mbps???

    Very interesting, thank you!
