Nottingham Forgotten Heroes #9 The Chilwell Munitions Workers

Finally after illness and other projects, I've created a new Nottingham video. After reading the excellent book Canary Child by David Field and Alan Dance (a fiction ghost / mystery story set around the events of the Chilwell disaster). To be honest, I knew little about the events in this video and people I spoke to hadn't either - hopefully this video will redress that.

Thanks for the video Paul, I lived near Chilwell in the 1970's and married at St Mary's. Little was said about this terrible event, yes it did seem forgotten. The 60's and 70's were a strange time history wise I feel. Everyone seemed to push the past aside and look forward to a concrete high rise future. Thank goodness for platforms like yours which revive and preserve our past. History is important education for all of us. Why some nowadays want to destroy or distort it is beyond me. Good work.
