I agree with the Victoria's secret makeup artist. I never use a shimmery highlighter because as soon as you walk outside it is sooo glitter and it doesn't look like a glow on your cheeks it looks like glitter. So instead I use a little bit of lip balm on the spots that I wanna highlight so it gives it a glow and not shimmer or glitter.

I don't think the makeup artist was being rude at all, she was being professionally informative and answering andrea's questions.
