- A detailed video of how to set up your PC to fully control your telescopes wirelessly. Many of you have asked about the drivers and ASCOM Hub software. You can find them here at this site: ascom-standards.org/Downloads...
So once configured you are able to click/touch on the object on the screen and the mount will automatically go there without alignment? UPDATE. I got my SkyWatcher 150P Virtuoso to connect SynScan and Stellerium together. What a game changer.
This video has to be the most helpful video I have ever seen!! Solves my problems, answers my questions....thank you so much for this!
Can anyone help me? I have a skywatcher star adventurer gti and im doing everything it says in the tutorial to connect my mount, it connects to the synscan pro app and stellarium but when i try to connect to ascom it says 'no device found' and i have no idea on what to do. Also, on sharpcap it connects and i can control it, but immediatly after 1-2 minutes it says that there are problems on the synscan app driver, after, i try to connect again and it says the same error 'no device found'. Any fix?
Any help with using N.I.N.A. I am struggling.
You sir are awesome. I have been trying to understand how to get my new EQ6-R mount hooked via my WiFi dongle into a PC setup and this did it right off the bat. Thanks for making the video.
Great video! This video helped me to get all my equipment working together seamlessly! Also, were you an F16 pilot previously? I used to be an E&E flightline maintainer from 2012 to 2018 and all I ever worked were F16s. I did 5 years at Ft. Worth TX and a year in Kunsan.
I didnt know about station mode and was struggling with using a mini pc to control my synscan dob. Ill try this next clear night. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Hey what is the Sky watcher Synscan app name for Windows PC? I tired searching for it but only found Apps for mobile devices and not PC versions.
@viper pilot I go to the ascom site you have listed but i don't know what exactly to download
The up and right control buttons need to be pressed once the target star is reached, and will flash to remind you of this.
This is a fantastic video. I was trying for ages to connect my HEQ5 to EQMOD, trying to convert IP addresses, to COM ports, etc, but nothing was working.
Very clear and concise tutorial - brillliantly structured - I have been struggling for the last 6 (at least) weeks with all those setup and connection combinations (and failing...) - I was ready to ditch my top notebook, Sharpcap, Stellarium licenses, also Nina , and then move - tail between my legs - to Asiair Plus and a much weaker Android tablet, despite my mount and SynScan WiFi working very well - not anymore!
New to the hobby, have the az-gti goto mount with a Mak127.
I just wanted to say that I'm so glad I found this video. I followed it, but just had to go download the Synscan app drivers from their website. I don't think you mentioned getting the driver.
After trying different programs using ASCOM, I had pretty much given up on using my laptop to drive the mount. I then discovered the synscan WiFi dongle.
Hi, I just come across your video, I found it at the right time because I have just got my Star Adventurer GTi WiFi, and I am having a great time getting it to talk to other programs on my pc. Now through your video I can add SharpCap to the mix. I have it working with Ascom, Stellarium, SynScan Pro. I have filed the video away with all my other UA-cam videos that I keep for future reference. Cheers Robert Aust'
Great video. More people need to see this. Thanks!
Great video, very clear and interesting. I can't wait to try it out when my WiFi adapter arrives.
Excellent tutorial! Thx
great video i will have a go at setting this up myself, it will be nice to be able to sync these programs at last
