The greatest Sunshine pop hits of all time . Lazy Day 98.6 and Windy. Wow what a time 1967 and you,ll never see or hear days like this ever ever again !!!!!
You make typically and frustratingly short radio tunes of that era last the length of a right proper "concept album"-length song! THANK YOU! Had radio not been so greedy, forcing pop acts to record even shorter songs, so stations could cram more ads in per hour, we might have enjoyed similar to what you've created as the norm!!
This song is so terrific especially how these guys do their incredible harmonies at 3.32 it resonates in your head and could be listened to for hours! Nothing like this anymore nor ever will Period !!!!!
You pick great songs to work with and this one is timeless. One of my favorite pop bands and a sensational extended version of Windy. Bravo my friend and thanks for sharing
Wow! Had to hear your extended version again today - July 1, 2018 - as today is the 51st anniversary of the original’s reaching No. 1 on Billboard, where it stayed for four weeks. What a fantastic remix!!!! Thx, John. I wish you could do more of the Association and the Mamas + the Papas. The remixes of tunes of theirs that you’ve done to date are exceptional 🤓
YOU did a great job remastering this..still listening to this..one of my fave pop songs also...and am using your vid. to sing along with..great for that in 2019 or anytime!!
i currently workin on my vocal tracking for this and Im finally hearing where Im going wrong. I got TRICKED by my old midrangy copy..LOL..Even though I have a good L/R split, hearing it nice a clean without the lead vox is REALLY HELPING these old ears..Thanks for posting!
They'll likely be a short clip of it in my next LIVE video...Yeah, its the trombone or (french horn?) that was trickin me.Thought it was a bass vocal..LOL..Singin a D note in the walk up was WRONG .Sounds right by its self and with the baritone BUT, NOT with the Eb chord (hello?..LOL).I thought (Make me Lose Control) was tough. This one is a real challenge! This is really helpin though.
Love the bass guitar in this clip. Although if its the Wrecking Crew doing the real sound track, then its Carole Kayes Fender Jazz bass we are hearing.
@mosogotam: Yeah Man! The music is awesome and your talent just makes it better. Thanks. There's a crazy tune from "66" or so: "Sign of the Time" by the incredible UK talent, Petula Clark. Have you thought about putting your magic there too? If not, please consider it. Love that tune so much. Love & Peace.
very good.....do hope that in your time, you can hit-upon remixing some of the other 60's Hits.....like those of Jefferson Airplane and Donovan....thanks for all your posts.....
What a shame about this band......although this is a great video....they were fools to turn down Jimmy Webb's "MacArthur Park"......He 1st offered it to them in1968....they said it was ..."too long"......
+Rick Fell - Pop music's littered with similar stories. But you're right: their version of MacArthur Park would most likely have been fantastic (with their harmonies, sensibilities, etc.).
In fairness AM stations wouldn't play songs longer than 3 minutes back then. Of course a few songs like MacArthur Park and a few years later American Pie and Stairway to Heaven were in such demand they had to make exceptions.
My friend Gail is the original Windy, living up to her name and so warranting the meteorological alias. She is a veritable force of nature!
My goodness you slice and dice in the most amazing way. What a visionary John ❤

My brother Anthony was born just three months after this came out, so it is the same age as him.
U got that right scott
This version is hot again😊😊😊😊
RIP MOSOGOTAM. thanks for the music.
My favorite song by The Association. Thank you for creating this extended version of it!
The harmonies are just IT! I want "Cherish" played at my funeral - for no particular reason. My God, they went through a cast of characters!

What a great extended version of this fantastic song from the magical year of 1967 such beautiful harmony not seen in over 50 years!!!!!!
Thanks a lot, Scott!!! Check out my new extended version...with added original instrumental backing track! Thanks again!
1967 was a magical year, because my brother Anthony was born in October, three months after this came out!
This sends me back to my teenage years!! Great Job!!!
Many thanks, Marc!!!
Three years before I was born, so before my existence.
Another great song from the 60's! I just loved this song so much!!
0:52 , yes...

+Mark Faris ....Thank you, Mark...such a great song... the instrumental track is so great!!!
THE WRECKING CREW IN TOP FORM ON THIS TRACK PRODUCED BY THE BRILLIANT AND TALENTED BONES HOWE IN 1967!!
No disagreement there!!
The Wrecking Crew helped to pioneer and define the Los Angeles and SoCal sound of the 1960s and 70s.
From the golden days of AM radio - We'll " Cherish " this one for sure PTown:)
Thank you a whole lot, QQ!!

mosogotam Thx, John. You’re the best!!
Windy blows me away 😻
Because my friend Gail is the original Windy. She is a veritable force of nature!

Spanky's 'I want to get to know you' came out during that era as well
@@piercehawke8021 Correct, it was a huge hit in 1968!
Wonderful.
Excellent!
Thanks so much, Chris!

Wow
nice rendition! I would double down on the flute ending
It's gutsy to rework the best bubblegum hit ever! Here's to Ruthann Friedman's writing of this song!
LSD rock is something

Rick Fell I DID NOT KNOW THAT..VERY INTERESTING, THANK YOU FOR THAT INFORMATION. TAKE CARE AND TAKE IT EASY!!!😁😊☺😎
In fairness AM stations wouldn't play songs longer than 3 minutes back then. Of course a few songs like MacArthur Park and a few years later American Pie and Stairway to Heaven were in such demand they had to make exceptions.
Why are they brats?
Excellent! Thank you for this, John :)
