    Give it a like. So you can always come back when you feel like it. Thats what i do. I've been coming back here every day lately. Im listening the whole concert before going to bed every night. Never slept better in my life.

    I had the honor of doing the lights for this mans winter symphony a few months back. I stayed after to help him load his van and he was very kind and generous.

    This is overwhelming. I really appreciate the way he plays and lives his music (which is absolutely beautiful). I've been living more than a year in Ireland and can I feel the spirit of this country in his songs, a new experience for myself.

    I understand. I lost a daughter to cancer years ago. Was the end of the marriage too. Lost everything through the divorce.
    Left my house leaving 3 other weeping kids, I had no choice, the woman underwent a literal change of personality after the child's death.
    I left against my heart with only my clothes and a guitar.
    Thank God for music!
    Playing is often like healing and listening is the same when the music is inspired by angels singing to our sufferings and joys alike.

    music is medicine.... I've a wife with cancer that took her ability to conceive a child... we tried In-Vitro fertilization - it was unsuccessful, and left us in a mountain of debt as a result. I'm in a chapter 13 bankruptcy, and a home foreclosure. My dog - who is like our child - now has cancer. And overall - I am happy. Music is a huge part of my ability to find peace despite the crosses that I've had to bare.

    @ Jack Hernandez...you obviously weren't really listening or watching...Mr. Doan is playing a Harp Guitar, which has several lower and HIGHER register strings beyond the "normal" 6 strings on the main neck...all of the higher register parts were most DEFINITELY being played by Mr. Doan during this amazing performance!
    And to Mr. Doan himself, I thank you for sharing this bit of true Keltoi beauty with us...you've touched a part of my soul that still roams the hills and dales of Ireland, my ancestral home. Your music speaks to me in ways I cannot describe!

    I remember John Doan from the 1980's; he was considered "new age" or "ambient" then. I loved his music and heard an interview with him in, I think, 1991 from KBVM, a Catholic radio station in Portland, Oregon. Back then it was pretty eclectic musically. I was really heartened that he spoke so easily about his faith then and very glad to see he's still doing it.

    Reminds of Saints & Sinners a book written by Irish writer that my Grandfather John Mc Court had in his library in Derry that my mother brought with her to NZ.....a rare book in these parts..... But I lent it to Ron Montague in Kaukapakapa in the Kaipara and he never returned it!

    • @barbjephson
      @barbjephson 8 років тому

      Think Grandad Mc Court use to talk to the bishops from many faiths..... use to talk in the front room in Francis St in Derry of this as told by my mother Molly née McCourt Scott....in NZ to her daughters!.
      Yes the metal did come from where he said it came from. Strangely enough the Irish came from Austria!
