Spent a year there 1979, met some amazing people and some bad people, downtown Richmond is interesting saw some great bands was pretty glad to return to Australia, could never imagine staying that long again in USA, never!!
Here's something you need to know - if you are a left winger you will love it here. The Board in the 2000's decided to model UR after the liberal schools of the northeast. Many of the Alums from the 80's and 90's have stopped supporting the school as it has compleley lost it's conservative roots. Go to a football game now and see maybe 20 undergrads attending. Fraternities are basically done. In the 80's we had to drive downtown to football games and more than half the student body would be there. It's a bastion of priviledge now - really sad. they will never receive another penny from me or my class from the 80's.
