    Why don't you at the start say your sponsored by them ?

      I say that I was approached to make a video. That’s not a sponsorship…that said…cadence have decided to sponsor the channel moving forwards.

    Cadence definitely has a better UI, but I'll take the Jepster app (Android) over it any day of the week. Not only is Jepster free, it supports importing routes from Strava, it supports ANT+ (on older Samsung phones that have it built in, and it lets me fit more data in the same amount of space.

    • @GoustiFruit
      @GoustiFruit 6 місяців тому

      Yeah, that's what I've been using for almost 2 years, I think ? I tried Cadence a few days ago (time trial), and cancelled after my first ride. I was mainly interested in it because of the navigation directions that you don't have with Jepster, and to manage/see the segments on which I want to improve my PR. But I find the customization harder (it's hard to load a ride file), to get something similar to what I have on Jepster. And I like the ability to follow a workout on Jepster.
      A missing feature with Jepster (or should I say "a glitch" ?) is that you won't get the notifications when your screen is off, if you have a radar.

    👍I’ve just downloaded the app and got the quad lock to keep the phone secure, I was hoping to connect my e-bike to it for the battery and power level which doesn’t seem to connect yet but hopefully that will be updated some time soon 😊

    What about water damage to the phone? I would also be worried about the phone falling off it mount.
    Also you might discuss the most robust way to mount a phone to the bike. BTW I have cadence sensors and they are usually held onto the arm of the crank with those crappy rubber bands and I have lost more than one of them because thew rubber bands don't really hold them securely.

      I hope it does last you. I’d say 10 years is great for any tech…normally due to updates older tech ends up running on old firmware or being a bit buggy as it’s running on an update meant for newer devices. I guess Garmin, Wahoo have updates specific to their devices though…I’m just going by my experience of phones. Thanks for the positive comment 🙏🏽

    Im guessing you can use as a sat nav device for the car as well? Would be good if it would use O/S maps. I don't have devices to pair, but have been using a rugid/ waterproof phone mounted on quadlock for walking,cycling and car for years with Memory Maps, no data useage and simple phone pay as you go. Downside this APP may not work on my older phone!

    • @DaveNoakes
      @DaveNoakes  6 місяців тому +1

      I guess you could use it as a sat nav. You can have only the map displayed. Quad lock is the perfect mount to pair with this. You have the choice of maps…including the OS ones.

      I’ve never had a phone drop off or get damaged using a quad lock mount…I use mine daily. If you’re really concerned about you could use the motorcycle mount that have a vibration dampener in it.

    This is an awesome app, Do you need internet connectivity in order to use this app?

    • @ryansommers35
      @ryansommers35 6 місяців тому +2

      Hi, developer of Cadence here: no, but having a working map without internet requires the Elite subscription. Elite allows you to download offline maps from Mapbox. Otherwise, with free or Pro, you can use it without internet but will be limited with features that require internet, which would be updating map tiles, getting weather information, etc.

      Hi, developer of Cadence here: no Fitbit or Google Wear compatibility, only Apple Watch. However if your device broadcasts heart rate over Bluetooth, that'll work fine. I know lots of Garmin watches and the latest Fitbit's (like the Charge 6) will broadcast HR.
