I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but you can use a utility knife or boxcutter for the little spot for a clip to fit through. I think it's a lot easier to do :)

Tape would definately work just as well, it would just be a bit messier, having the lines of the edges of the tape showing. I dont know about cling film, it might not stick as well.

You can also do the canvas flip for traditional by flipping the paper over and checking proportions, etc
Or you can use a mirror

I started to make my badge for my character and I love this! I came back to this video to make it and I have enjoyed every bit!
