One suspects orchestras especially enjoy performing this work since it's fanciful & loaded with great solos for almost every principal. Loved it as a kid & still at 63.
Лучшее исполнение из тех, что я слышал и видел. Музыканты не просто работу работают, а получают от игры удовольствие. Отличное качество записи, отличная картинка. Можно сказать, всё почти идеально. Переслушал много-много раз.

Una pieza sublime y evocadora... Sheherezade! de un magnifico compositor. Excelente.
I let out an exclamation of admiration because this orchestra's performance with exquisite skill and breathtaking technique and beautiful attire , and incomparable conducting , This marvellous masterpiece challenges the admiration of all ages From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵
Ah the grand Russians! Seems like Rimsky Korsakov was usually in Tchaikovsky’s shadow, but in this instance he produced one of music’s great compositions. Despite this beautiful performance, I personally prefer Maestro Valery Gergiev’s more energetic and slightly faster approach in at least one version that’s also posted here on UA-cam. That said, your salute to the orchestra members attire should not be cast askance. In these visual performances the appearance of the performers seems as wonderful as the music they produce. Every member is immaculately dressed and groomed to near perfection. What a wonderful tribute to the composer, conductor, audience and even to their own talents. Seems like fine musicians and professional golfers are the only humans remaining who exhibit such class.
@@frankreedy6437 You are so right. People now dress like homeless paupers. People 50 years ago would not go anywhere outside in such dreadful attire. Maybe it's just the US. I hope so.
the story of Scheherazade is one of drawn out longing...her very life depends on it...the piece will take its own pace...I find this tempo very sensual...I'll be in for a thousand nights, and be greatful...and the brunette violinist (second chair first). is so beautiful in a Katy Perry/ souxie soux kind of way...makes me want to drink wine and giggle and speak Italian....molto Bella!....poco a poco, all weekend!!!
Phenomenal performance and recording! My youth orchestra is performing this in June, so I've been listening to this recording and playing along to practice outside of rehearsal. I can't wait to perform it, it's such an amazing piece! 😄
The long last note in the entire work on the first violin must be very difficult to bring off successfully. Messrs Rutksuskas & Kuerti handled it very well. Maestro Kuerti looked very relieved.

Good God! Very organic and consistent performance. Dynamics very well controlled and tempos are well chosen, more convincing then Reiner's and Ansermet's. Incidentally, this recording quality is very very outstanding, preserving freq response down to the bass drum strikes of at least 45 Hz. Play this with yr big speakers.
