I don't see as many people talk about the lyrics "You've been blinded by stardom", even though they bring up many interesting talking points. 1. Its common to see people accuse Scott of being "blinded by stardom". Claiming that Scott Cawthon is cashing in on the fame and fortune FNAF brought him. He's "lazy" and only cares about the money. This is something a ton of people call Scott when critisizing him and his games, and while I disagree, it is something I can understand at this point. The games have gone on for so long, and the story has become so tangled up, that people are questioning if the artistic integrity is even there anymore. "Are Fnaf games being made for passion, or are these just for money now?" 2. Funko has constantly churned out low-effort merch and has flat out leaked charaters before just to advertise, Illumix threw a ton of micro-transactions into their mobile game then flat out dropped it and completely cut ties with FNAF just like that, and Steel Wool released Security Breach as a buggy, broken mess. "They've been blinded by stardom", either making big mistakes or churning out low effort fnaf content just for the money FNAF's name brings. Steel Wool at least owned up and have been trying to fix the game, but the the other two definetly don't care about FNAF at all with how they have treated the franchise. 3. People like Theft King becoming popular, only to be toxic and rude underneath the surface. Lying to fans, bullying, and using their popularity to get away with things. They are "blinded by stardom" and feel like they can get away with whatever they want because of their following, using FNAF as their main way of staying realevent.

They made people pour so much money into FNAF AR that it is no surprise that they just dumped the project and took the money so im guessing that it was a pump and dump like save the kids (edit) Jesus Christ that's a lot of likes
I won't say Theft was right for what he did but there was a bit of an immature overreaction on both sides not just theft kings. Imagine being told thousands and thousands of deaths threats by a community for a common saying of anger such as "go to hell" sure it's wrong but them doing that makes it no better than theft saying it.
I think I saw somewhere before that someone said that this part of the song is supposed to symbolize Scott's deviating to what FNAF once was. I don't think that's the case though as Scott has always remained true. I think its supposed to symbolize what the FNAF community has become as of recently. Gregory (symbolizing the current state of the fnaf community) is being shown what the old animatronics (what FNAF used to be) and how everything has changed and back then people loved FNAF for what it was are there were no controversies

You know the controversies the FNAF fandom has now makes me wish we could just go back to the days of when the only thing people would complain about in the fandom was when the next FNAF game would come out or complain about cringy artwork, at least that stuff was harmless.
We can't help that some people act the fan verse devs, or just being toxic in general, but eventually everything will be at peace again and we'll all smile

I've come the point where I just accept this harsh reality that every community has a bad side. I try to stay on the positive yet admittingly the negative side can be pretty distracting and hard to ignore. Everywhere you go, there will always be toxic people in a community so I don't think this is exclusive to FNaF alone. It's a problem for every fanbase of anything. Best we can do is try not to pay attention to the bad side and let it affect our passion for these things and the passionate people who love these things. Toxic sides will never go away but that doesn't mean we should let it represent an entire group as a whole.
Literally what I wanted to comment too it's just a sad reality that all fanbases are going to have a toxic side that will outshine the positive side of the fanbase and I think more people need to understand that.

Best you can do is try and stick around for any genuine and great passionate people that simply love what you love equally. They're around somewhere. You just gotta keep looking. Don't let one rotten side represent an entire group of people as a whole. That's what got us a lot of problems throughout history. This same idea can be implied here. But you're right on the money on how people need to understand that no fanbase is spotless. There is gonna be something bad or flawed somehow. It's inevitable no matter where you look.
I mean, some communities are still ok. Think about Tetris, I don't think I've seen anything bad happen to the Tetris community, probably because of how small it is. Any small community is pretty okay considering not many people are there to ruin it

I’ve been in the fandom during the beginning too, I think the main issue is for some reason people just love drowning themselves in bitterness instead of appreciating the good in this franchise. I love FNAF 1, I love Security Breach, I love the books, and I love the good this community CAN do. The problem is people like to cling on to the past and not just accept that maybe they need to move on or let go of a past that was really not THAT different from now and learn live in the current moment. I feel like a lot of FNAFs story has been about learning to not drown in despair and learning to forgive and move on from the past, and I find it ironic how so little of the fanbase seems to understand those ideals.

Think about it, most of us have loved this fandom from a young age, practically grew up with it. Stayed up late, watching compilations and theories, reading and rereading information, piecing together never ending timelines…we were blinded by the mystery. Making OC’s, fan stories, collecting merchandise for lore…It was amazing, to think we had so much power to make our own story…turning a blind eye to the problems running rampant in the community. We were truly blinded by stardom…not our own, but FNAF’s 🥲

To be honest. I seen how the FNAF community first became a thing and it was fun. But then it became toxic with everyone turning on each other for stuff they did and crap. And then ignoring people. When you mention “ignoring people” this resonates with me. I never want to admit it, but I am ignored myself. I’ve experienced that pain of being ignored because of how I act, react, create and discuss. I’ve been shamed by others for never speaking, never playing with them, and never meeting their “standards.” So much so I had laid down my career in the chase of reality. Because reality is the only shred of dignity I have left compared to what I tried to be. It’s a shame but that’s how it was, I only wish I could go back to the times I just built worlds of my own creation and shared them. That’s the only thing I had fun with and was appreciated for. It’s painful, I don’t pay attention to the Fnaf community anymore but I can tell there’s just as much pain in the community then any other community, it’s upsetting how quickly we all grew up and grew apart eventually.
Still wish the Dream Theory was the one we'd stopped at and to be the actual correct guess, but because of the community's backlash and greed for more we've arrived at this point. "Leave the demon to his demons. Rest your own soul. There is nothing else." always stuck to me as a message that supported it and also would help the fandom to move on..
I dont think Scott's original "It was all a dream" thing was a good call. I for one think that Pizzeria Simulator is the definitive ending. The series is a *game* series, it *can* have a little paranormal, so the concept of child souls *actually inhabitating and possesing* animatronic characters (or suits, or corpses in suits) is not far fetched, and is actually more in-like with what the main Fnaf genre should be, that being horror. More in-line with Horror than sentient friendly AI in super-complex sci-fi robots is significantly less horror-y than the constantly tormented souls of literal murdered children looking for revenge, eventually letting go, all except for the One He Should Not Have Killed. And Ultimate Custom Night being the bonus probably-not-canon "Prologue" game about William going into his own personal hell controlled by the soul inside Golden Freddy is cool.
The problem with the fnaf community is that the asshole people most of the time go unnoticed. Yeah you have your TheftKing's and your Hunter.L's, but there is a cat abuser in the fnaf animation community and barely any people know about it.

It’s honestly sad. I have been a fan of fnaf since the fourth game and left the fandom for a little bit because security breach. I only came back because of the fanverse and the vhs tapes because that’s what fnaf is to me.
I think this could be symbolism on how Scott got carried away with the series. He wanted to please everyone, but he started regretting what he let it become, with all the pressure mounting on him to make the next big thing, along with some controversy sprinkled in.

FNAF first came out 2 years after my best friends and i graduated high school together and it even had us talking and watching theory videos together! A charming and dark childrens story told through hidden easter eggs in a game was so addicting to solve together with other people. But once the truth came out that there was no coherent story planned and that Scott was just rolling with it for the fun of it, the magic was gone but i gained a new appreciation for it because i thought it was pretty funny. It's not about the destination, it's about the journey!
Honestly, this hurts me so much. In my life, I always felt so alone because I have a communication problem and not like other kids that are strong in their own way and up until now. Recently, I have been feeling super down, and honestly FNAF and other games I have been in has kinda helped me with my life a little, kinda like my safe space. I felt so happy, it gave me some positivity. But of course the term "every fandom is toxic" will never be avoided and honestly the safe space I once had vanished. The FNaF fandom is so toxic that they’ll yell at you for “misgendering” a character, mostly Mangle, Marionette, Funtime Foxy, and Golden Freddy. As some whose favorite character is Mangle, I had a hard time talking about her because people would yell at me for whatever pronouns I used, and those people killed Scott’s “Mangle’s gender is yes” joke. I’ve almost always used she/her for Mangle because she just looks and sounds like a girl to me (That’s a bit close minded these days but I just kinda thought since Mangle was built in the 80’s for a family friendly establishment they probably didn’t make Mangle non-binary or anything like that since at the time it wasn’t that accepted). I don’t understand why people would fight me over a fictional character’s gender. I don’t think it matters tbh and it really shouldn’t matter.

I remember in 2017 when I first discovered FNAF. Everything was beautiful, there was no controversy, people made their own FNAF ocs and fan games, everyone was just being passionate fans and bonding over the game they loved. But once Scott left, it's like the entire fandom collapsed into something not worth being in. Like fiery flames engulfing a childhood place. people were leaving left and right because they couldn't take it anymore or they didn't find a reason to be in it anymore. I grew out of the fandom since it doesn't interest me anymore, and what I used to love is now a shell of the past. Funko keeps making cheap figures and plushies to sell to clueless people. Steel wool failed on security breach and the only good thing that came out of it were the characters' designs. this fandom can't be fixed.

I believe this about the old days. Early 2010s where sfm vids were made about the story, parodies, songs, etc. Now to see a franchise fall and people loose interest. The toxicity of people and their viewpoints and making up bewildering accusations for their narratives. As it said, “everything is a problem” Just because we want nostalgia and relive our old days. And the song depicts that in a way that begs to have that. Showing that even the ones that entertained us way back understand the idea of our memories with them.

I miss the old fandom, when people just complained about when the next game came out, when fnaf was trending due to its popularity, fantastic music and other stuff. It WAS all just for a show. Now everything’s in a bit of a state of panic/mess. It’s quite… sad.

This song's vibe in geenral to me feels like an old fnaf fan coming back to their childhood nostalgia and seeing how the fandom they once loved has completely degraded to constant controversies, drama, and how the parts of lore they loved (the focus on grief and anger of the dead, the souls of the dead kids, the urban legend-y feel of it, the feeling that this could've been a real story people told about a pizzeria chain, the lore digging was for fun and the methods actually made sense and didn't span multiple medias of overconvoluted mess) has been abandoned for the (overconvoluted, messy) story of one killer and his son in what is bordering on a fantasy world at this point (look at the books if you don't understand what i mean by fantasy world, it is just, so far from what the old fnaf lore was it's almost not the same franchise) and it kind of makes me sad, because that person is me.
This part of the song is my favorite. I will no doubt admit Fnaf has its flaws, but its still my favorite franchise. Even in the past, Scott made games, and people were mean about it. Fnaf was what gave him the boost he needed to keep going. Even he admitted he was no genius when he tried to make a story, and while some people can argue he used the franchise to make money, nothing he's done was outright malicious. He's donated money to charity, children hospitals, and even livestreams on UA-cam. Now I'm not saying Scott is perfect, I'm sure he's had his flaws, but who hasn't made mistakes? He's one of the few game developers in the world that has done more good than any other game company ever could in a year. While I still think at times, Scott should have ended Fnaf with UCN, then just have the book trilogy to help wrap up the continuity, I'm glad Fnaf is still going. Given to how big the fanbase is, and that it seems to still be growing, why stop there? Fnaf not only has branched out to from its classic gameplay, but it's also given its original games a revamp, thanks to Help Wanted. Help Wanted is one of Matpats favorite games, and not only did we get an official Fnaf game in VR, we ended up getting an AR game, and even a Free roam Fnaf game. While people can argue the classic gameplay is better (I do agree with them), but you can only do it enough where it gets old, so I think branching out was a good idea. Overtime we got more Fnaf books, first being Fazbear Frights which takes place in the universe of the book trilogy (I think), and Tales from the Pizzaplex (taking place in the times of the Pizzaplex/Security Breach) While Security Breach isn't a perfect game, I still thought it was cool. Steel Wool did deliver on the hype with the DLC, and it was really cool, I'm excited to see Help Wanted 2, and the Fnaf movie. Is Fnaf perfect? No Is it an interesting franchise? Sure Is it an awful franchise? Not really Does it deserve all the hate? No We have people like Dawko, Matpat, 8-bit Ryan, Razzbroski, ID's Fantasy, FuhNaff/John, and RyeToast being the best thing that the Fnaf franchise has. While a popular franchise can have some neat stuff to offer, there is a chance it'll give us some bad eggs. *Case in point, TheftKing.* That guy is the textbook definition of narcissism. It starts with his biggest controversy, being that he had a meltdown over a rickroll that was sent to him by a Fnaf creator named Kane Karter. The reason why Kane sent this rickroll, was because of a tweet that he made; however, the tweet didn't regard TK, it was talking about how people are fed up with clickbaiting, which is what TheftKing was doing. Not only did Theft have an entire meltdown over it, he said that Kane Karter would "burn for eternity". Following up to that drama, he even made a comment to JohnnyBlocks on twitter, which JB responded to him in a way that TK didn't like (IDK exactly what JB said, but I'm pretty sure it had to do with the clickbaiting), which resulted in Theft dedicating another livestream just to bully JB. After a while Theft gets involved with another big set of news, where Ladyfizi, an artist that was involved with Fnaf, got terminated from the Fnaf franchise for inappropriate drawings, and being an overall terrible person. People on twitter were celebrating about how she got fired, and were glad that she was kicked out. TheftKing, called people out by saying that it was wrong to celebrate, and that yes the entire situation was bad, but that won't undo the damage that has already been done. He even compares it to a time when he said a family member got r*ped, and that his family didn't celebrate when the criminal got locked up, which was a stupid example, and didn't even have any connection to what he was trying to claim. Only 2 weeks later, he he makes the false accusation that people were doxxing him by leaking his personal email. While yes he has all in his right to call out the people that leaked his personal email and even a picture of his house, it was that he made false claims without giving any proper evidence to back up his claims, and even at one point, he made a voting poll on twitter that said, "who's worse: TheftKing or Hitler"? This cane to a conclusion that TheftKing is worse than Hitler (and I'm not surprised he was the one that won the vote). Not to mention he grew up in a jewish family, but is an atheist at heart, which can be proven in his old twitter account, but that got removed by twitter with good reason. At the end of the day, TheftKings only good quality, is that he's an example of what NOT to be a game community, and despite everything, he continues to upload like nothing ever happened. My guess to why the more popular Fnaf UA-camrs don't mention him, is because they don't want anything to do with him, or that they know that if they say anything about him that's negative, it'll result in TK using it as a means to get noticed. In conclusion as I said before, Fnaf isn't perfect, but despite everything that's happened, I still love the franchise, and at some point, I do hope that when it does end, it'll either end in a way where it doesn't need to come back, or it'll get a complete remake with brand new characters with no callbacks to the old franchise.

It really does. Despite not being with this series since the start I still see the contrast between the community before and after SB. The "you've been blinded by stardom " and "you're losing it all" lines match this perfectly, as this fanbase is losing the prestige it once had over the false stardom of controversy.
Honestly I've never seen the community discussed with prestige before, was basically always the butt of jokes from almost the start. The community hasn't even been treated with respect by people outside of it before things blew up.
I’m not a theorist or anything, but I kinda do wonder why the animatronics don’t have any eyes in the beginning. And once we hear you know, that iconic FNaF line from the very first song “waiting for you every night” they appear to have eyes and more emotion. I don’t know, just kinda saw that. I wish people had not pressured for the game to come out, and I wish Steel Wool and Scott hadn't released the game in a broken state. The game had so much interesting ideas cut to appear more child friendly, the horror factor was not as significant, and the story was a mess. I can see why people were divided on the game, but I do wish that ogs and newer fans could get along. I do miss when things were not so complicated.

I've seen people treat actual criminals nicer than how they treated Scott for donating some money. It's always ticked me off how after all the things Scott did, it's him spending a few bucks that brought it all down.

I haven't kept up with the community in awhile, only sticking too myself and few select friends about it. But in the scene where Chica seems too be confused by the amount of animatronics, it could be seen as a symbol: She's been pushed further from her original idea/character, and in times left out of the game. Representing how far and how much has changed since the beginning.
I feel like every community has something wrong, and the worst people IN that community are sometimes there people who try to STOP the bad stuff! Trying to stop it can make it more public, reach more people, make that bad thing bigger and make other people make other videos that ALSO make similar videos, growing the problem. This video isn’t one of those (thankfully) but we have to realize that we have to embrace the bad stuff, because if we don’t, it’s just going to grow and make the community crumble.

Every game franchise has its bad games. Just look at Sonic, a dozen bad games and look at it now, two hit movies and a very promising game coming out soon. Think of this as Fnaf's puberty phase, it might get weird, but in the end it will be worth it.

Honestly I love the fnaf community its got some really talented and just all around lovely people. However there is an alarming amount of people who are either people who will take things way too far and threaten people insult people and ship the animatronics (they are possessed by kids ffs.)etc. I grew up with this community and I just want to see it get along better.
This is a message to the FNAF community as of late, not to Scott. The toxic part of our community (and somehow the most influential sadly) has pushed away the one person holding it all together (Scott Cawthon), this part of the fandom fucked it up and this is just the 2014-2018 part of the community putting it out there for everyone to see.
I think part of the problem was the fact that everyone wanted to feel "that way" again about fnaf. We were all charmed and terrified by fnaf when we were young and loved coming up with theories and things over it. Now that we're older and have learned the story (the general idea at least), all of us are nostalgic for the way things were then and want to go back to it in the form of a new game and extended story. I admit Scott's gotten a little carried away, but let's be honest. None of us are scared of fnaf anymore and we're just holding onto the past. It's a lose-lose situation either way.
I was expecting the song to be about security breach and the more 'recent' games but its amazing to see the og's and how they interact with a new character (Gregory).
It pains me to know that the community that once brought us all together, allowed us to laugh, cry, sing, and theorize together, is now just a community that tears us all apart and drives nothing but hatred. Yes in the old days of the community there were still some issues, but love overpowered the hate. Good hit harder than the bad. Because we were all in unity. I can see how it is talking about the fandom the part with Freddy singing "a long time ago it was all for a show" can mean that at the start it was just a game with a story while the parts with bonnie chica and foxy are saying how we as a fandom try to reason different theories and headcanons for why something happened that's what "and your reason to justify, scars you can't quantify" refers to the part where it says its our fault litteraly blames us and how we make thing difficult and a problem the poison is probably the despair that people feel in the community always being there and the part after that refers to how someone can loose things because they get blinded by stardom and they think they are alone at the top but there are always people there waiting for either a new video or theory and the "your mine" part is probably about how once you enter that part of the fandom you can't get out
As much as I love FNaF, I really can't get over the fact that other FNaF fans that like to ship or like to make non-canon AUs for videos even though some people find it bothering or disgusting. I was a bit disappointed when Security Breach came out cause I didn't understand who Gregory was or what was his point in the community until I started watching these theories like from Game Theory and stuff I- Sort of started to understand him? I mean, he still confuses me to this day but- Sometimes I feel like the community is falling apart because all of the little kids out there making stupid videos that entertain other little kids. I’ll be honest, some AUs are actually creative and cool, but the other ones… like the ones the 5 year old peanut butter babies make… those just ruin the fandom, and I’m a veteran who has been in the fandom since the first game. Being honest, I’m sad Security Breach exists, because the new “lore” just has no plot relevance and all the new people joining the fandom don’t know the point and they are just throwing the fandom into one big obese trash hole. Let's be real here, it was FNAF World that was the catalyst that started this decline in quality in later FNAF games. Once the horror franchise started to make a non-horror, light hearted, child-friendly instalment, is when OG fans like myself dropped out of the series.

So many fans just can't wait for the upcoming release of whatever FNAF has in store, and not in the good way. 1. Its common to see people accuse Scott of being "blinded by stardom". Claiming that Scott Cawthon is cashing in on the fame and fortune FNAF brought him. He's "lazy" and only cares about the money. This is something a ton of people call Scott when critisizing him and his games, and while I disagree, it is something I can understand at this point. The games have gone on for so long, and the story has become so tangled up, that people are questioning if the artistic integrity is even there anymore. "Are Fnaf games being made for passion, or are these just for money now?"
2. Funko has constantly churned out low-effort merch and has flat out leaked charaters before just to advertise, Illumix threw a ton of micro-transactions into their mobile game then flat out dropped it and completely cut ties with FNAF just like that, and Steel Wool released Security Breach as a buggy, broken mess. "They've been blinded by stardom", either making big mistakes or churning out low effort fnaf content just for the money FNAF's name brings. Steel Wool at least owned up and have been trying to fix the game, but the the other two definetly don't care about FNAF at all with how they have treated the franchise.
3. People like Theft King becoming popular, only to be toxic and rude underneath the surface. Lying to fans, bullying, and using their popularity to get away with things. They are "blinded by stardom" and feel like they can get away with whatever they want because of their following, using FNAF as their main way of staying realevent.

I think I saw somewhere before that someone said that this part of the song is supposed to symbolize Scott's deviating to what FNAF once was. I don't think that's the case though as Scott has always remained true. I think its supposed to symbolize what the FNAF community has become as of recently. Gregory (symbolizing the current state of the fnaf community) is being shown what the old animatronics (what FNAF used to be) and how everything has changed and back then people loved FNAF for what it was are there were no controversies

I've come the point where I just accept this harsh reality that every community has a bad side. I try to stay on the positive yet admittingly the negative side can be pretty distracting and hard to ignore. Everywhere you go, there will always be toxic people in a community so I don't think this is exclusive to FNaF alone. It's a problem for every fanbase of anything. Best we can do is try not to pay attention to the bad side and let it affect our passion for these things and the passionate people who love these things. Toxic sides will never go away but that doesn't mean we should let it represent an entire group as a whole.
Literally what I wanted to comment too it's just a sad reality that all fanbases are going to have a toxic side that will outshine the positive side of the fanbase and I think more people need to understand that.

I’ve been in the fandom during the beginning too, I think the main issue is for some reason people just love drowning themselves in bitterness instead of appreciating the good in this franchise. I love FNAF 1, I love Security Breach, I love the books, and I love the good this community CAN do. The problem is people like to cling on to the past and not just accept that maybe they need to move on or let go of a past that was really not THAT different from now and learn live in the current moment. I feel like a lot of FNAFs story has been about learning to not drown in despair and learning to forgive and move on from the past, and I find it ironic how so little of the fanbase seems to understand those ideals.

As much as this relates to Scott, I also feel like it’s a shot to us, the consumers. Think about it, most of us have loved this fandom from a young age, practically grew up with it. Stayed up late, watching compilations and theories, reading and rereading information, piecing together never ending timelines…we were blinded by the mystery. Making OC’s, fan stories, collecting merchandise for lore…It was amazing, to think we had so much power to make our own story…turning a blind eye to the problems running rampant in the community. We were truly blinded by stardom…not our own, but FNAF’s 🥲

When you mention “ignoring people” this resonates with me. I never want to admit it, but I am ignored myself. I’ve experienced that pain of being ignored because of how I act, react, create and discuss. I’ve been shamed by others for never speaking, never playing with them, and never meeting their “standards.” So much so I had laid down my career in the chase of reality. Because reality is the only shred of dignity I have left compared to what I tried to be. It’s a shame but that’s how it was, I only wish I could go back to the times I just built worlds of my own creation and shared them. That’s the only thing I had fun with and was appreciated for.

I dont think Scott's original "It was all a dream" thing was a good call. I for one think that Pizzeria Simulator is the definitive ending. The series is a *game* series, it *can* have a little paranormal, so the concept of child souls *actually inhabitating and possesing* animatronic characters (or suits, or corpses in suits) is not far fetched, and is actually more in-like with what the main Fnaf genre should be, that being horror. More in-line with Horror than sentient friendly AI in super-complex sci-fi robots is significantly less horror-y than the constantly tormented souls of literal murdered children looking for revenge, eventually letting go, all except for the One He Should Not Have Killed. And Ultimate Custom Night being the bonus probably-not-canon "Prologue" game about William going into his own personal hell controlled by the soul inside Golden Freddy is cool.

FNAF first came out 2 years after my best friends and i graduated high school together and it even had us talking and watching theory videos together!
A charming and dark childrens story told through hidden easter eggs in a game was so addicting to solve together with other people.
But once the truth came out that there was no coherent story planned and that Scott was just rolling with it for the fun of it, the magic was gone but i gained a new appreciation for it because i thought it was pretty funny.
It's not about the destination, it's about the journey!
Honestly, this hurts me so much. In my life, I always felt so alone because I have a communication problem and not like other kids that are strong in their own way and up until now. Recently, I have been feeling super down, and honestly FNAF and other games I have been in has kinda helped me with my life a little, kinda like my safe space. a lot of people say scott is making these games for money, but at this point i think he is just doing it for fun, seeing how people love to interact with his games and seeing all the positive things about it, its his hobby, he makes games for his family and everyone apart of the fnaf community.
The FNaF fandom is so toxic that they’ll yell at you for “misgendering” a character, mostly Mangle, Marionette, Funtime Foxy, and Golden Freddy.
As some whose favorite character is Mangle, I had a hard time talking about her because people would yell at me for whatever pronouns I used, and those people killed Scott’s “Mangle’s gender is yes” joke. I’ve almost always used she/her for Mangle because she just looks and sounds like a girl to me (That’s a bit close minded these days but I just kinda thought since Mangle was built in the 80’s for a family friendly establishment they probably didn’t make Mangle non-binary or anything like that since at the time it wasn’t that accepted). I don’t understand why people would fight me over a fictional character’s gender. I don’t think it matters tbh and it really shouldn’t matter.

I remember in 2017 when I first discovered FNAF. Everything was beautiful, there was no controversy, people made their own FNAF ocs and fan games, everyone was just being passionate fans and bonding over the game they loved. But once Scott left, it's like the entire fandom collapsed into something not worth being in. Like fiery flames engulfing a childhood place. people were leaving left and right because they couldn't take it anymore or they didn't find a reason to be in it anymore. I grew out of the fandom since it doesn't interest me anymore, and what I used to love is now a shell of the past. Funko keeps making cheap figures and plushies to sell to clueless people. Steel wool failed on security breach and the only good thing that came out of it were the characters' designs. this fandom can't be fixed.

I believe this about the old days. Early 2010s where sfm vids were made about the story, parodies, songs, etc. Now to see a franchise fall and people loose interest. The toxicity of people and their viewpoints and making up bewildering accusations for their narratives. As it said, “everything is a problem” Just because we want nostalgia and relive our old days. And the song depicts that in a way that begs to have that. Showing that even the ones that entertained us way back understand the idea of our memories with them.

This song's vibe in geenral to me feels like an old fnaf fan coming back to their childhood nostalgia and seeing how the fandom they once loved has completely degraded to constant controversies, drama, and how the parts of lore they loved (the focus on grief and anger of the dead, the souls of the dead kids, the urban legend-y feel of it, the feeling that this could've been a real story people told about a pizzeria chain, the lore digging was for fun and the methods actually made sense and didn't span multiple medias of overconvoluted mess) has been abandoned for the (overconvoluted, messy) story of one killer and his son in what is bordering on a fantasy world at this point (look at the books if you don't understand what i mean by fantasy world, it is just, so far from what the old fnaf lore was it's almost not the same franchise) and it kind of makes me sad, because that person is me.

I will no doubt admit Fnaf has its flaws, but its still my favorite franchise. Even in the past, Scott made games, and people were mean about it. Fnaf was what gave him the boost he needed to keep going. Even he admitted he was no genius when he tried to make a story, and while some people can argue he used the franchise to make money, nothing he's done was outright malicious. He's donated money to charity, children hospitals, and even livestreams on UA-cam. Now I'm not saying Scott is perfect, I'm sure he's had his flaws, but who hasn't made mistakes?
He's one of the few game developers in the world that has done more good than any other game company ever could in a year. While I still think at times, Scott should have ended Fnaf with UCN, then just have the book trilogy to help wrap up the continuity, I'm glad Fnaf is still going. Given to how big the fanbase is, and that it seems to still be growing, why stop there? Fnaf not only has branched out to from its classic gameplay, but it's also given its original games a revamp, thanks to Help Wanted. Help Wanted is one of Matpats favorite games, and not only did we get an official Fnaf game in VR, we ended up getting an AR game, and even a Free roam Fnaf game. While people can argue the classic gameplay is better (I do agree with them), but you can only do it enough where it gets old, so I think branching out was a good idea.
Overtime we got more Fnaf books, first being Fazbear Frights which takes place in the universe of the book trilogy (I think), and Tales from the Pizzaplex (taking place in the times of the Pizzaplex/Security Breach) While Security Breach isn't a perfect game, I still thought it was cool. Steel Wool did deliver on the hype with the DLC, and it was really cool, I'm excited to see Help Wanted 2, and the Fnaf movie.
Is Fnaf perfect? No
Is it an interesting franchise? Sure
Is it an awful franchise? Not really
Does it deserve all the hate? No
We have people like Dawko, Matpat, 8-bit Ryan, Razzbroski, ID's Fantasy, FuhNaff/John, and RyeToast being the best thing that the Fnaf franchise has. While a popular franchise can have some neat stuff to offer, there is a chance it'll give us some bad eggs.
*Case in point, TheftKing.*
That guy is the textbook definition of narcissism.
It starts with his biggest controversy, being that he had a meltdown over a rickroll that was sent to him by a Fnaf creator named Kane Karter. The reason why Kane sent this rickroll, was because of a tweet that he made; however, the tweet didn't regard TK, it was talking about how people are fed up with clickbaiting, which is what TheftKing was doing. Not only did Theft have an entire meltdown over it, he said that Kane Karter would "burn for eternity". Following up to that drama, he even made a comment to JohnnyBlocks on twitter, which JB responded to him in a way that TK didn't like (IDK exactly what JB said, but I'm pretty sure it had to do with the clickbaiting), which resulted in Theft dedicating another livestream just to bully JB.
After a while Theft gets involved with another big set of news, where Ladyfizi, an artist that was involved with Fnaf, got terminated from the Fnaf franchise for inappropriate drawings, and being an overall terrible person. People on twitter were celebrating about how she got fired, and were glad that she was kicked out. TheftKing, called people out by saying that it was wrong to celebrate, and that yes the entire situation was bad, but that won't undo the damage that has already been done. He even compares it to a time when he said a family member got r*ped, and that his family didn't celebrate when the criminal got locked up, which was a stupid example, and didn't even have any connection to what he was trying to claim.
Only 2 weeks later, he he makes the false accusation that people were doxxing him by leaking his personal email. While yes he has all in his right to call out the people that leaked his personal email and even a picture of his house, it was that he made false claims without giving any proper evidence to back up his claims, and even at one point, he made a voting poll on twitter that said, "who's worse: TheftKing or Hitler"? This cane to a conclusion that TheftKing is worse than Hitler (and I'm not surprised he was the one that won the vote). Not to mention he grew up in a jewish family, but is an atheist at heart, which can be proven in his old twitter account, but that got removed by twitter with good reason.
At the end of the day, TheftKings only good quality, is that he's an example of what NOT to be a game community, and despite everything, he continues to upload like nothing ever happened. My guess to why the more popular Fnaf UA-camrs don't mention him, is because they don't want anything to do with him, or that they know that if they say anything about him that's negative, it'll result in TK using it as a means to get noticed.
In conclusion as I said before, Fnaf isn't perfect, but despite everything that's happened, I still love the franchise, and at some point, I do hope that when it does end, it'll either end in a way where it doesn't need to come back, or it'll get a complete remake with brand new characters with no callbacks to the old franchise.

It really does. Despite not being with this series since the start I still see the contrast between the community before and after SB. The "you've been blinded by stardom " and "you're losing it all" lines match this perfectly, as this fanbase is losing the prestige it once had over the false stardom of controversy.
Honestly I've never seen the community discussed with prestige before, was basically always the butt of jokes from almost the start. The community hasn't even been treated with respect by people outside of it before things blew up.
I’m not a theorist or anything, but I kinda do wonder why the animatronics don’t have any eyes in the beginning. And once we hear you know, that iconic FNaF line from the very first song “waiting for you every night” they appear to have eyes and more emotion. I don’t know, just kinda saw that. Very sad to see the state of this game now, wish I could go back.

I guess it's a mix of both. I wish people had not pressured for the game to come out, and I wish Steel Wool and Scott hadn't released the game in a broken state. The game had so much interesting ideas cut to appear more child friendly, the horror factor was not as significant, and the story was a mess. I can see why people were divided on the game, but I do wish that ogs and newer fans could get along.

Honestly I love the fnaf community its got some really talented and just all around lovely people. However there is an alarming amount of people who are either people who will take things way too far and threaten people insult people and ship the animatronics (they are possessed by kids ffs.)etc. I grew up with this community and I just want to see it get along better.
This is a message to the FNAF community as of late, not to Scott. The toxic part of our community (and somehow the most influential sadly) has pushed away the one person holding it all together (Scott Cawthon), this part of the fandom fucked it up and this is just the 2014-2018 part of the community putting it out there for everyone to see.
I think part of the problem was the fact that everyone wanted to feel "that way" again about fnaf. We were all charmed and terrified by fnaf when we were young and loved coming up with theories and things over it. Now that we're older and have learned the story (the general idea at least), all of us are nostalgic for the way things were then and want to go back to it in the form of a new game and extended story. I admit Scott's gotten a little carried away, but let's be honest. None of us are scared of fnaf anymore and we're just holding onto the past. It's a lose-lose situation either way.
I was expecting the song to be about security breach and the more 'recent' games but its amazing to see the og's and how they interact with a new character (Gregory).
It pains me to know that the community that once brought us all together, allowed us to laugh, cry, sing, and theorize together, is now just a community that tears us all apart and drives nothing but hatred. Yes in the old days of the community there were still some issues, but love overpowered the hate. Good hit harder than the bad. Because we were all in unity. We were stronger together which is what made it great, what made us family
the line it all started for a show hit pretty hard it had no many years worth of thought-out lore just a game about animatronics and a nightguard and most of the stuff that Scott does nowadays is to reveal a small thing intentionally for matpat to make a blown out theory and then he goes along with it

I can see how it is talking about the fandom the part with Freddy singing "a long time ago it was all for a show" can mean that at the start it was just a game with a story while the parts with bonnie chica and foxy are saying how we as a fandom try to reason different theories and headcanons for why something happened that's what "and your reason to justify, scars you can't quantify" refers to the part where it says its our fault litteraly blames us and how we make thing difficult and a problem the poison is probably the despair that people feel in the community always being there and the part after that refers to how someone can loose things because they get blinded by stardom and they think they are alone at the top but there are always people there waiting for either a new video or theory and the "your mine" part is probably about how once you enter that part of the fandom you can't get out
As much as I love FNaF, I really can't get over the fact that other FNaF fans that like to ship or like to make non-canon AUs for videos even though some people find it bothering or disgusting. I was a bit disappointed when Security Breach came out cause I didn't understand who Gregory was or what was his point in the community until I started watching these theories like from Game Theory and stuff I- Sort of started to understand him? I mean, he still confuses me to this day but- Sometimes I feel like the community is falling apart because all of the little kids out there making stupid videos that entertain other little kids. It just- I don't know anymore...

I’ll be honest, some AUs are actually creative and cool, but the other ones… like the ones the 5 year old peanut butter babies make… those just ruin the fandom, and I’m a veteran who has been in the fandom since the first game. Being honest, I’m sad Security Breach exists, because the new “lore” just has no plot relevance and all the new people joining the fandom don’t know the point and they are just throwing the fandom into one big obese trash hole. I would literally watch that one Tony Crynight thing instead of watching the new junk now. :/

Let's be real here, it was FNAF World that was the catalyst that started this decline in quality in later FNAF games. Once the horror franchise started to make a non-horror, light hearted, child-friendly instalment, is when OG fans like myself dropped out of the series.
I don't know how that feels because I'm not a follower.. do I like FNAF:yes, but I don't like the people that go deep into it, or that take things to serious, and sometimes you have to grow up, if you keep liking the same thing over and over your not gonna get anywhere, now if your like me.. where I think it's just a game, a game you play as a kid. If your over 25 and still playing this game that just tells you how much of a person you are, a person who doesn't move on or try different things then just 1. What do I know?

I miss old fnaf..The first fnaf Video I watch was gamegrumps video..And then I watch zajcu videos about sfm animations..To this day..I still love fnaf..But let's face it..Every person has a darkside..That includes the developers and the community itself..The best thing we can do is just move on,Think of it as a thing that happens daily..The Negative side always get bigger..But also mentally unhealthy..We should also have some gratitude for once..This is already a main problem in most communities..There's always the toxic side of a fandom..It also doesn't solve the problem at all..But rather adapt to another stage..One last thing..Just do what you like,Do what you desire and stay motivated as a sharp knife
I also think this applies to the fandom. The line "you've been blinded by stardom" can be given so many meanings, so I think it applies to fans too. So many fans just can't wait for the upcoming release of whatever FNAF has in store, and not in the good way. I just think the fandom has become impatient and volatile, pressing the very same devs and content creators to put out more content with an expected level of quality, instead of just giving things time.
In a way I can't blame them, since Scott himself sometimes broke his own deadlines, but I think some fans don't understand that with new releases, it's much less likely to happen. Idk, rant that I'm maybe basing off of nothing lol

When people started thinking there was an Afton family, Scott probably just saw it as a popular idea and decided to go with it.
“everything is a problem” i believe this part talks about how the fandom became toxic because Scott, who has a right to his opinion, held an opinion not everyone agreed with and people threw tantrums on twitter and the “Now this is your fault” is talking about how that made him retire early.
I get him honestly because i was also bullied for my political views online :(
Not to mention that people always wanted more. Part of FNAF’s charm when it first came out was that it was unique and it was something new.
