At what point or have you added anyone else to the backend (editing, filming, production, locations, etc.)? P.S. Terence McKenna also said the same thing.. be the content you want to see, stop consuming, start creating. Jeven, would you please provide me personal insight into errors I'm unconsciously making toward destroying my watchability? My latest video is taking off (comparatively to my others in the same niche). If you're available lets meet up at Overland Expo in AZ this year 👍
I like the "come up with 100 ideas" Yes, "get consistent" is my goal this year, even if it's shorts as an excercise to JUST DO IT! In the past did a lot of great filming (overfilming) but then got bogged down in editing. Thank you for all the tips! 🌸🌿
This is such a great video, Jeven! I've seen so many other UA-cam educators advising that you do NOT make videos that you like and instead focus on what your audience wants. While they have a point, they forget to mention what you have - that you should balance that out with what you enjoy creating. I think most of us start on UA-cam as a hobby and for some it turns into a job/income. If you only focus on your audience, the hobby part of UA-cam goes away and it turns into a job too quickly. The best videos on UA-cam come from those who are organically passionate about their niche.
You make a lot of sense Jeven.... I struggle with the idea of being a network and not a show... i just love being the potpourri of content.. and i know it kills me.
To the same conclusion i came couple months back. I begin originally with travel vlogs, but after few months i realized that being only travel vlogger in a small country like Bulgaria is really really hard to break thru. What i did is i mixed travel vlogs with educational informational type videos. Not that now my channel is exploding, but at least there is a noticeable growth after that change. Thanks for the hints it's really helpful!
Love the 100 ideas list... It's so simple and effective! Going to make time today and actually write 100+ ideas for my channel. Can't tell you enough how much the consumer vs producer mentality is a BIG deciding factor on this platform for a creator. Thank you, Jeven!
Great advice! Without scaring people, you're describing a business plan for a YT channel! I will definitely use this advice as I ponder the idea of making a channel that is a bit more than just posting some of my adventure bike rides.
@@LivingLifewithJudith same here. At first I cared what people were thinking when they stared at me. Then I started pretending I am at a party and I have to share this vlog with my kids and tell um all about it. The thing u gotta remember is that 98% walking by u . You will NEVER see them ever again lol. That did it for me. These days I just do it and got way more confident in front of the camera with people around.
@808-State That's a great tip! Thanks. I'll try to remember that. And that's true... I won't see them again, so I shouldn't care. It is all in my head. Got to work on that.
Very informative video. I've been struggling with this in my youtube channel on travel vlogging. I live in NYC and I recognize that NYC content pays more and is trendier so I should make videos based on NYC as well. The struggle is I much better prefer my travel style videos in lesser known and traveled countries. Invaluable advice! Love these video series
Omg your videos are so helpful. I’ve just found your channel, so I’m naturally watching all the ones relevant to me at the same time-whether they be current or from two years ago. Seeing your growth and development is almost as educational as your content, and it’s definitely inspiring. You’ve gotten so good in front of the camera and your video-making skills are off the charts. Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge with us, but also for sharing your own journey with us. Peace and love ✌️
Amazing video! Very good talking points. My biggest problem is the consuming part. Watching way too many videos currently. Need to start building and creating. Side note, how do you like the DJI mic? Better than the Rode?
Thank you for this video. Only people who make videos understand growing a youtube channel is not easy and you have to treat it like a job which is hard especially when you hv a 9-5 job. I hope people around me understand if i spend most of my time editing, and i hope i can edit faster over time 😭
I have discovered your channel only recently but i have to say your content is so valuable that I can honestly say You are my fav creator 🙌🏻 Thanks for all the great tips and lessons👏🏻
Another great video! I'm always walking down those rabbit holes while watching other videos and I'm not sure how got down there. Going to use the 100 video ideas and start building content on my other channels. Thanks
Thank you so much for sharing your ideas...I am a Senior and simply starting doing my vlogs as sort of my Activity Daily Living ADL)...Mabuhay...new subscriber from the Philippines❤❤❤
Such a great video... Awesome advice. I'm just starting my channel. Have no idea what videos are going to do well.. We're doing camping with our dogs videos. not doing so greeat.. but have now created - designing a yoga studio, and wife is now doing an how to do acrylic flow painting video.. I think she's the talent in the family !!
Great ideas Jeven. I sent this to some friends who are starting a channel. Any ideas on how to create one's own onscreen graphics like your Venn diagrams? I'd welcome an instruction video on how to make on-screen graphics look good without hiring someone.
Great tips… I guess where I’m a little lost is figuring out how we find what our audience wants to watch that is also not what everyone else in the niche is also doing. I mean, if we’re all seeing what comes up on search, aren’t we all going to be making the same content? Trying to wrap my head around this concept… 🤔
So basically, we shouldn't uniquely make the content we love to make. But we should pick one avatar. So if we pick ourselves as the avatar, there will be quite some more people who enjoy the exact same things as we enjoy... no?
I have watched and learn so much from you and your videos, but as a father to children and a fulltime job, its a difficult to find the time, that I need to make videos. But I'm trying to make videos as often as I can, and editing the material that I already have filmed. 💪💪 Also, thank you as always for the great videos and learing skills 😀
Hi Jeven, thank you for this instructive video. It's very helpful, as all your videos are! One question: how did you get such pretty stable footage with the A7S3? Did you stabilize it in post, or is it that stable out of camera with the A7S3 IBIS (I shoot with the A7S3, but I'm not that happy with the stabilization)? Thank you, I appreciate what you do for the community!
hi, can you make videos on how to make video like youtube channel KAND HAYATI /LIZIQI / BAKE IT UP WITH NOTCH,? I really wanna know how they can make video so bright, sharp and the color also amazing. BTW, I WATCH YOUR VIDEO A LOT .
everyone says pump out at least 1 video a week. If you are a new youtube, and have a full time job, DONT. If it means you will drop your quality, it is not worth it. 1 VERY high quality video a month is better than 1 shitty video a week. I upload every 2 weeks usually c:

Most annoying parts of content creation are storytelling and shooting in a crowd. That sucks.!!
