  • “I never stopped hating you.”- Blackfire, to her sister.
If “bad influence” could be boiled down to one person, then…there is no “if”. Komand’r, better known as Blackfire, is that person. Now anyone who knows me knows I can’t get enough of women who are downright friggin’ evil, and Blackfire is exactly that. Where her sister Starfire is kind hearted, sweet, humble and (sometimes) a little awkward, Blackfire is vindictive, ruthless, self-glorifying, manipulative, and without a doubt one of the main reasons both you and I are attracted to toxic women.
Believe it or not but as a kid I didn’t like Blackfire much. I remember thinking “she’s mean”, and liking Starfire cause she’s nice. Don’t get me wrong, I love Starfire, but as time went on I definitely started thinking female villains or just bad girls in general were always more attractive, and I developed a huge love for form-fitting black leather, chrome, platinum blonde hair and a sultry voice. Yeah, Blackfire and Black Cat definitely played a huge part in my sexuality. And I eventually realised that whether it’s the imperious chrome bodysuit, the suggestive voice, or how shamelessly and unapologetically evil she is…I’d choose Blackfire over Starfire. Every time.
When it comes to the song, I put the choice of song to a vote on my Instagram twice- first time it was Bad Romance by Halestorm, then Maleficent by Halocene because someone else used BR. But try as I did, I just couldn’t get Maleficent to work. I really wanted to, but the song just didn’t have the snappy rebellious oomph I wanted. However, Dead Posey, who I recently discovered, absolutely did with She Went Bad. The moment I listened to this one, I knew it was perfect for this Tamaranean devil woman. So with that, until next time, and no matter how you feel about Blackfire, just remember- she’s mine.
