Can a citizen arrest another individual for what may be deemed a violation of the law? GBN sought a response to this question from the royal Grenada Police Force.
This is extremely shameful and embarrassing of the police force and GBN in all honesty. I was in grand anse when I saw the driver hit a first van and fled only to cause a next accident. I observed the whole scene unfold in front of me and I can tell you it took an hour for the police to get to the scene. Who the police trying to fool here?Those men who held the driver of the white crv responsible for the 2 accidents should be awarded for that. If they never hold that man lord knows how much people that fella coulda kill. The news doesn’t report the accident instead they asking what is a citizen’s arrest??? Nah man I give up!!!
More civilian, police collaboration will be necessary to combat the exponential rise in crimes in small OECS. Think about it, the larger Caricom countries are deploying their armies to combat. Because of limited resources in smaller states, expanded civilians (citizens) role in the fight against crime is inevitable.
