Comfort is overrated. I should know because I have very little of it but I still cling to my Lord Jesus Christ. I have to work for my blessings and I receive many blessings every day of my life for which I thank God every night.

I really needed this today. It has been tough for me, feeling so depressed and feeling like absolutely nothing inside. All this makes me feel so angry and alienated from the concept that Christians should always be 'happy and on the mountain top.' This is a brilliant video - thanks

This was a very needed message at this time.
As I approach the seventh anniversary of my Baptism I have found that the true source of Joy is communion. It is this which sustains me in the Life Christ has called me to and all the more powerfully now when it takes time to organised the visit of a priest with the churches closed.

Thank you so much for this inspiring message. I am so glad to see Hank doing so well. Hank, your books and radio program have been such a blessing to me over the years and I was very distraught to hear about your illness. I hope things are going well, brother and will keep you in my prayers.

This was a very, very powerful message, one that really showed how the advocates of the prosperity gospel have totally twisted the meaning of why Jesus became the God-Man. Thank you Hank and Steve for explaining this in such a meaningful way; Especially when both of you have each sacrificed an integral part of your lives to answer the call of the resurrected one.

Nothing is promised to us accept Christ. Salvation is a great gift but it is a gift it can't be earned or purchased.

There is a belief that is even more subtle: while we may not think that God will give us happiness, wealth, etc. we may still unconsciously think that God would never let something truly horrible happen to us. Then, when the bottom falls out of our lives, we may be shocked, confused, disappointed, and angry at God. It may seem blasphemous to some people to say that horrific, traumatic things happen to Christians: their children get cancer; they may be the victims of crime; both spouses may die of terminal illnesses leaving children to relatives; businesses fail; hey may be falsely accused of a crime and even spend time in jail; one spouse may develop dementia or mental illness; or the Christian may have a chronic illness and live in poverty. I think it's better to address this reality, though, with teenagers and 20-somethings. Otherwise, when life really gets tough and God seems to make NO sense, the person's faith may be shattered.

Great video. I tried to explain this message to a friend, he didn't get this message. Sometimes I don't get this message.

So if Hank doesn't believe in the Prosperity Gospel, why does he live off the sacrificial donations of others in a 3.1 million dollar, 9200 sq ft mansion on a golf course estate?
    Hmmm
