Excellent video as usual. One minor correction. You said the dendritic structure was typical for vapor deposition. Actually dendritic structures are typical of solidification from liquids. The structure from vapor deposition is described by "structure zone models" - refer Movchan & Demchishin (1969) and Thornton (1974,1975). Terms like tapered, columnar, fibrous, and equiaxed are used. But never dendritic because that's not how they grow.
Another great video. It often pains me to watch these beautiful and rare samples being essentially destroyed by being ignited, or dissolved in acids. I don't see a link to the seller of the sample.
I have two 1 gram samples that I got my wife and myself as a necklace that tells each other that we are special to each other because our last name is "Thul"
Radioactive thulium used to be used in lixi scope portable x ray devices, but later got replased by brighter 131 iodine sources. Now they use tiny electronic x ray tubes 😁
Wow, your weed is expensive. It works out to $4.50-5/g around here. The shops want $16/g and the Government places want it up to $25/g They are shooting themselves in the face with legalization dooming it to fail intentionally. Just like the mess they made of gun regulation. They didn't solve any problems they just made it so convoluted nobody could understand it anymore.
Induction levatation of gallium aluminum scandium and this metal within an alloy would be an interesting experiment to see what light wavelengths would be generated?
I have an almost perfect American accent, but lots of my family come from different places in the world, so I can understand lots of different accents.
can u make a really long video where u do all ur experiment in sequence of elements so it will really help lots of people to learn better n easy to find u know...
2 slices of chopped bacon, 2 spoonfuls of ghee, splash of sesame oil, half pound of chanterelles, and 3 days later, one magically gets a softer version of the same.
Quantum Well these days you can't discover an element by purification of chemicals anymore. You have to smash atoms together, blast them with neutrons and alpha particles, and things like that. All the stable elements have been discovered already.
Great video, highly appreciated Please try adding subtitles if it's easy for you, otherwise everything's still great and quite understandable but it would do more justice to the hard work you put in making these videos
I would ask the creator of this to add text captions to this so I can fully understand what is being said. I mean no insult but I have difficulty understanding what you are saying and that is unfortunate.
Actually cost, like many things, is a very relative thing. You can purchase from China 500 gram of Thulium for about $990USD which includes DHL shipping. That equates to just under $2USD a gram. I paid a little more for a meagre troy ounce of Platinum. Terbium is even cheaper - $650USD, which equates to about $1.30USD a gram. In fact I have the Terbium in the mail - awaiting delivery. People spend much more money annually on tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs and even Starbucks ‘take-away’ coffee. It all depends on your priorities in life.

Nice
15 thousand purification steps !!
The element 69. Love it.
It's weird how is 69 rare :)
no it's nice
Always drop what I'm doing whenever Thoisoi2 posts new video!
Very difficult to get into the Thulium Society.
You have to 69 every member to get in... Totaly worth it
Love the videos. Keep them coming!
Super interesting. I love the periodic table and learning fascinating facts about different elements. Thank you!
Radioactive thulium used to be used in lixi scope portable x ray devices, but later got replased by brighter 131 iodine sources. Now they use tiny electronic x ray tubes 😁
Thank you always for the experiments!
Same price as weed, interesting... Is it smokeable?
Nico Wijns where do you pay this price?
Gurken Salat most places

Your comment about weed was totally retarded and out of place. I see that you have smoked enough already.
Artūrs Savickis It got you to reply. So apparently not.
Induction levatation of gallium aluminum scandium and this metal within an alloy would be an interesting experiment to see what light wavelengths would be generated?
once again a truly well worth watching and educational vid..well done bro !
I have high levels of Thulium in my body
As well as all the other “iums” we are looking for the source.
never heard of this element before. You learn something new everyday.👍
When the accent wasn't enough, he had to show off his Half Life 2 game footage to prove he was truly Russian. hahaha
How is HL2 particulary ‘russian’? Even the game was not happening in Russia but somewhere in Poland, seemingly.
i thought he is spanish
he is estonian
Cool videos! I also love chemistry
i never heard of this Element...
That's probably because of its rarity.
How can 30 people dislike this awesome video?
As always an excellent video !
OMG COOL NOTIFICATION SQUAD
well that explains why i dont even have a pure sample
1:13 can you provide link to this image
Some of these people commenting are just missing 90% of their brain cells.
... which is typical among commenters.
that's nice to hear
Thulium 69
Funny number, huh
As much as I love the content, I can't help but express the difficulty in understanding his accent.
It’s half the fun. You’ll learn after watching more
I have an almost perfect American accent, but lots of my family come from different places in the world, so I can understand lots of different accents.
Omg I cannot believe I had posted such a comment. I'm so sorry 😣
I thought I knew all the lanthanides, but no. Thanks!
n i c e
glad to see a new one!
can u make a really long video where u do all ur experiment in sequence of elements so it will really help lots of people to learn better n easy to find u know...
CONGRATULATION THUTAKYAW
nice
Cool video. Who does the song at the end?
I like your channel but I'm finding the words hard to understand
John H that's the best part
Punabii how
Mute your speakers
That piece you have looks cool, almost like someone coated a piece of wood.
I love your such educating and exciting videos....
Another good one.
Thulium the nicest element on earth
2 slices of chopped bacon, 2 spoonfuls of ghee, splash of sesame oil, half pound of chanterelles, and 3 days later, one magically gets a softer version of the same.
Looks like 69 is the rarest metal of the rare earth elements 😂😂😂
It's ironic because your pfp has Th in it aswell
Keijo 420 That's not irony.
Why didn’t you comment that on the video he made about thorium?
Promethium is the rarest lanthanide
If i discover a new element i shall call it Liumlium.
But why? You can name it Quantumium!
You'd have to get a degree in nuclear physics then
OBV10U3_NINJA Only think you have to be correct, and have a method for proving it.
Quantum Well these days you can't discover an element by purification of chemicals anymore. You have to smash atoms together, blast them with neutrons and alpha particles, and things like that. All the stable elements have been discovered already.
OBV10U3_NINJA well poo 😣
Sería genial que los vídeos tuvieran subtítulos en inglés, ya que hay personas que hablamos español y no dominamos bien el inglés. Excelentes videos!
Another good video
Toolium: Snap-on Tools very bestest material...
Почти Perfect English) Классный канал :)
Thank you sir. Here in India we are getting done these practices with pen and papers....lol
I like your vids but you need to add captions because I can’t understand half the information given
how can we calculate how much energy in unit of electrovolt [eV] each level (shell) and each sublevel (s, p, d, f) has?
Nice Vid 🤩
nice indeed
Great video, highly appreciated
Please try adding subtitles if it's easy for you, otherwise everything's still great and quite understandable but it would do more justice to the hard work you put in making these videos

Valve has no 3 bruh
I somehow had no doubt that you will show the Half-Life gameplay for a while (;
❤❤❤
hard to understand but interesting video
Please tell the name of anti iron chemical!
element *_69_*
*_nice_*
Why do I not remember this element at all? I remember thalium, other lanthanides, but not 69, thUllium.
I would ask the creator of this to add text captions to this so I can fully understand what is being said. I mean no insult but I have difficulty understanding what you are saying and that is unfortunate.
please do a video on SILICON!!
Need a video to intro your cat soon!! =D
Closed door was here
But i searched the internet for the rarest metal and it told me that it was astatine because there was only 30 milligrams in the earth's crust

Look oddly like fiberous form of mica.
