It is kinda amazing how do they keep pushing with this show despite reaching levels beyond the negative !
honestly it is still on the negative level because they send the real batwoman away without letting us see Wallis Day don the cape and cowl and without letting us know when we will see her again
See that's your perception because you're in a bubble, there is a whole batwomen fan base out there are is extremely actively because we enjoy it, especially the lgbtqia community. Season 2 was so much better than season 1. Because it was so much more related for people in my community. The problems is gas lighting people in to think it's bad when it's not. The fact that we have a batwing and the question appeared, with spoiler last season people are existed. The only people who have a negative attitude about this show is conservative they have since day 1, they can't be objective with females superheros especially gay black ones smh

Mad Hatter looks like a good villain to have in this season but there’s also Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and hopefully Mr Freeze and Nora Fries and possibly The Penguin

How that didn’t get the writers fired is beyond as it was just stupid. Lastly we won’t ever see Kate Kane bad as BW again due to the firing of Ruby rose from the role.
Maybe he will be the villain for the first half of the season and Poison Ivy will be for the second part

If I'm understanding this, they're searching for missing Batman "trophies" that have been scattered hither and yond. So, basically, it's "Friday the 13th: The Series." They're collecting the various evil artifacts that need to be returned to the vault before they get into the wrong hands and bring about an apocalypse of some sort. Okay, I can roll with that.
@Juan Díaz Castro - Hmm, that's one I've never gotten around to watching. I used to know someone who was indirectly connected to that series, but I've never actually seen it. I need to do that.
Yes! it reminds me of Friday the 13th the series as well, At least the series has a cohesive narrative unlike more of the CW shows.
@@youredelicious9945 - Well for me, the biggest issue that Batwoman had for season two (and, shameless plug, I talked about this on my own channel) is that the new Batwoman, Ryan, has no coherent reason to exist. And this isn't a criticism of Javicia Leslie; she's a very capable actress. But why did they make up this character? If they were going to replace Kate, they ignored at least a couple of options that might have made more sense:
1) They could have gone back to the actual comics. For example, why not utilize Bette Kane, the original (pre-Barbara Gordan) Batgirl from the early 1960s, who was a niece to Batwoman, Katherine "Kate" Kane? That would have been a great legacy callback and utilize the family connection. That didn't occur to them.
2) On the other hand, they didn't need to bring in any new character at all. They had an OBVIOUS replacement already in the cast: Sophie. She's black, she's gay, she has an emotional connection to Kate which would have played dramatically--and unlike Ryan, she's extremely well trained and competent. Why did it not even occur to them to use Sophie?? To me, that would have been a no-brainer.
@@MoonjumperReviews i actually agree.. when i heard that Ruby wasnt gonna reprise her role in the second season one ALMOST didnt wanna watch it but i hoped it would have been Sophie for the same reason .. if not weird as it may sound thought maybe it would have been Mary.... the big question HOW THEY GONNA EXPLAIN this "new Batwoman" when the next cross over occurs... lol
@@scorpiohurley6786 - The thought of Mary did briefly cross my mind, just because I love her. But that would be even less credible than Ryan. Ryan is completely unprepared to be Batwoman, other than she's had some amount of martial arts training (which, in reality, wouldn't prevent her from being killed the first night). Poor Mary, she's had NO training that I'm aware of--she'd be dead in the first ten minutes. As far as existing cast members, Sophie is really the only one who makes any sense. Well, there's the Pennyworth woman, I guess, but she's not a particularly compelling character, in my opinion. Sophie would have been the logical choice. That, or go with a legacy character like Bette Kane. But I don't think they thought any of it through.

After spending two seasons of introducing main characters (Kate in s1, Ryan in s2), let's just finally get things going and get on with fighting the Gotham/Batman villains.
Two batwomen working together can be better one.

Batwoman main villains ranked
1. Alice (arguably the best part of this show as Rachel Skarsten gives a great performance playing essentially the Joker to Batwoman)
2. Black Mask (cool mask design as well as the actor giving a pretty twisted and menacing performance)
3. Safiyah Sohail (interesting connection to Alice, but i feel like she lacked the most development as she pretty much disappeared after 2x08 and then returns again out of nowhere towards the season finale)

We all knew that Alice was going to get out of Arkham, so it didn’t matter how last season ended with her locked back up. But it’s complete BS, how Kate was ungrateful after she saved her life, if it weren’t for Alice, she would’ve remained Black Mask’s psycho puppet. All that build up to the sisters reconciliation was all for nothing.
How was Kate ungrateful the second she woke up Alice was going to prison for actual crimes she committed and then the writers wrote her off the show, and why does that look like Ryan’s mom is taking over Wayne enterprises are they tryna act like the Wayne’s never existed and act like the Wayne’s - Kane’s never existed? They’re just taking everything that was part part of Bruce and Kates lives and ruining it by adding new families and turning batwoman into a show that has not much to do with the Batman mythos and making it an elsewords type show that shouldn’t be in the arrowverse

Alice is a mass murderer with some of the worst plot armour ever and the show always tries to paint her as sympathetic, it never holds her accountable for anything, terrible character, terrible writing, terrible show.

I quote “the decision for me to leave the show was mutual for both the studio and me”. Which many who report on the industry ie John Campea, Robert Myer Burnett to name two along with many others have called out that is corporate/industry speak for she was told to resign or be fired. As before that it was reported how she wasn’t pleasant to work with, there were Alleged again alleged HR complaints made by the crew about her. It also wasn’t a secret the network themselves weren’t happy with her inability to perform in the role ie generating and keeping the audience etc

The Mad Hatters laugh at the end of the trailer seems to pay homage to the laugh of Frank Gorshins Riddler from Batman 66. Can’t wait to see this!

Can we PLEASE stop acting like y’all didn’t DRAG Ruby Rose for her deadpan facial expressions and LITERALLY “Phoning-In” her performance during Season 1. Hell, she wasn’t even properly vetted, like REALLY! All she’s ever really done, is strike poses and make faces in everything she’s EVER been in, no real acting. No serious lines or real dialogue. There are way too many Receipts online of you guys (okay, all of us) doing it. HELL…We all liked Alice’s Character better, ANYWAY. We literally LIKED THE VILLAIN BETTER. All we got from Ruby’s Kate Kane were horrible fight scenes and shoehorned make-out sessions. She was an actual insult to the Community. Just go to the Season 1 (or even 2) Clips and argue about Ruby or just leave Ruby be. It’s Time to move on. This is Season 3 now, and Things Are Looking Up. Let’s give Season 3 a chance. The cast is great! We STILL have our beloved Alice, and Javicia is a GREAT BATWOMAN.

History will look back at this show , and see Racist and Sexist , and money was put into it to get to series 3 and nobody was watching it , mad

Ratings of Batwoman is average, not disastrous. Charmed, Dynasty has way lower ratings but they are going on season 4 and season 5 respectively.

Not to mention, actual feedback of the show is also less than favorable compared to their other properties.
Arrow’s worst season had better feedback than the entirety of Batwoman when you look at the audience score on Rotten tomatoes. The only time reviews are overwhelmingly positive are when you look at the critics score, and it’s obvious by now that they aren’t as in touch with what the average viewer likes and are usually motivated by some agenda or the other.

The character have potential when is well written, by someone like De Matteis, for instance. But this show was, is and, apparently, will always be terrible

If wallis' Kate kane was fighting these batman villains and we had some decent writing then yes it would be a comeback for batwoman but no matter how good these villains are the series will always feel fake with black batwoman.

@@gagefranke6290 wimp or not, you still have to make him intimidating. Gotham stayed true to the character but still managed to make him look like he was a real threatening presence.
He wasn’t a physical threat, and he wasn’t really that scary, but he had a sadistic manner to him that made him unpredictable, especially when he’s doing his little mind games with people.
This guy doesn’t look sadistic or menacing, his laugh especially detracts from his intimidation.

@@gagefranke6290 that is a fair point, giving him the more deceptively dangerous feel, but I guess, we’ll have to see if he actually shows his menacing side, or even has one, because he doesn’t show that side of himself in the trailer.
Who knows, I hope I’m wrong, because I actually do think he has the look down even if he doesn’t have a threatening demeanor to him.
Perhaps the writers will give him a more threatening presence that will come to the surface, but they’ve mainly had their previous villains stay one-note so far, so I’m not banking on it.

@@jasonhall3082 If they wouldn't get a replacement for Kate I think Julia Pennyworth would have been a better successor. At least it would have made some sense within the existing story. Having some random woman stumble across the Bat Suit and just decide she was going to be Batwoman was kind of stupid.

Don't forget about bringing in Gotham's Renee Montoya actress in here as... the Arrowverse's iterarion of Renee Montoya.
Won't comment on show's quality here but its a DC/batfamily show and is free to use Batman rogues gallery and that shouldn't piss you off + most of batwoman villains are supernatural in comics they have no choice but to use Batman villains if they want to keep the show "grounded" and avoid diving deep into sci fi or supernatural.

They could’ve made a Gotham spinoff Batman series from with the actual good Batman writer, who know how to do the villains justice. Instead we got three seasons of this SJW nonsense and a disappointing final episode for Gotham.
