this isn’t the kind of arrangement that you can just listen to in the background, when you give it your full attention you can truly soak how intricate and beautiful it is, everything from the dissonance and resolution of all the moving parts to the timbre and tone of all the individual players. truly the arrangement ive every heard from a string group
3:41 eyes watering again watching the cello player in grey and realizing how many f***king hours of practice it takes, the dedication to play that well, all for what? for musical expression, all for this moment.
This makes me tear up ever time not sure why, makes me think of loved ones gone away and days past but beautiful too.. God bless and help all hurting people.
Chris Ray Gun I subscribed to this group a while ago on a channel that I abandoned, and I completely forgot to resub. When I saw your tweet I clicked on it, and then realized that this was a channel I used to love (plus I too have found the value of this song outside of a shitty meme). So yeah thanks for helping me discover/rediscover some really good music at four in the morning.
Tbh I was NOT expecting to see a comment from you here I was just going through some Hide and Seek covers cause it's one of my favorite songs lmao But I love your videos and I also really loved this video! Btw, if you ever do see this, I highly recommend watching a children's choir cover of this song. It's arranged by Mark O'Leary if I recall correctly and it's absolutely beautiful.
I don’t know why but I just cried. Sometimes music has a beautiful way of bringing emotions to the surface we didn’t even know we were feeling. Thank you for this.
Right? When you hear the lyrics for this you will cry again. It's just a profound song. These musicians captured the emotions perfectly. Thank you for your comment.
I can't get over how absolutely crucial every single part of this group is. The coordination required is just insane to me. This could not possibly be better.
I don't often comment on UA-cam videos but I just have to let you know that this is still the one song which gives me goosebumps each time I listen to it. I found it (or perhaps it found me) at a time when I felt numb, tired, and like nothing mattered. I was drawn in by the tender and soulful build-up of this song, and when that moment at 3:24 landed, I was shaken to my very core with the beauty, passion and energy which you all conveyed and expertly pulled together. I breathed for what felt like the first time in months. For bringing amazing music into the world I thank you, but for making me feel again, I owe you. Words cannot express my gratitude but for now I guess 'Thank you' will have to suffice :)
Please tell me Imogen has heard this cover... by herself she is amazing, especially with those gloves she helped develop... but if you were to collaborate. I would probably either squeal with joy or melt with the unearthly-angelic sound. Thank you for the amazing rendition. If I post multiples I am sorry... youtube is acting wierd.
I wanted to do a very long comment about how I feel about this arrangement and performance but I'll keep it short for now. Unfathomably perfect, I legitimately cannot mention one thing that could have been done better, completely and utterly perfect in a way I haven't ever heard before. You kept the discordant part early in, that's a stamp of perfection if I've ever heard it. Magnificent, thank you.
I cannot properly convey the effect this cover had on my soul. First time I listened to it, I sobbed uncontrollably for about 15 minutes. And that's never happened to me by just listening to a song. Not only is Hide and Seek one of my favorite songs of all time, but to have my favorite musicians on UA-cam cover it was something else entirely. It was deeply moving. You guys are the best.
I don't really comment on youtube videos but I love to listen to instrumental music when I study and every time this comes up I realise how beautiful music can be. Thank you.
I would give my hand for the thesis, that if you let people all over the world listen to this at the same time, no later than 3:24 the world would stand still for a moment. Something like this is able to connect us all on a deeper level. A level that isnt interested in age, language, ethnicity, looks, money or power... it would stand still, and i would even go as far as saying, something would change... i just found this. And i am sooooo thankful !!!!! Thank you guys !!!
Goosebumps doesn't cover it. Someone has said "soul has left body"... yes! ... incredibly powerful and an undeniable beauty that is simultaneously earthly and ethereal.
Usually when I see comments that say "this made me cry" I get cynical and assume it's over exaggeration. Then I watched this, and actually teared up several times. Absolutely beautiful.
So excited for you guys to see this one. Working with Dover is such a dream! They are the nicest and most talented people ever. Don't miss their performance of Smetana's "From My Life" Quartet over on Brooklyn Classical. (While you're at it, you should just watch all their other videos on UA-cam.) Thank you so much for watching, and please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE! ❤️
Were can i get this song without your talking in the end. Don't get me wrong here but i love the song and dont want to always skip the ending of your talk.
Omg my body! I literally have the chills…. Everywhere!!!! My eyes are watered ….. trying to literally control the urge to cry…. This is beyond breathtaking….. 🥹🥹🥹🥹👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍😍😍😍😍😍
I used to ear this song long time ago, and I don't know how I get here, but I'm crying right now, listen to this version makes me remember how I used to feel that days and it's beautiful, so thank you for this treasure.
There is truly something special about a channel that can make you subscribe mere seconds into the first video you've ever seen of them. I have no clue what else is on this channel but I'm about to revel in every piece of it. Amazing.
I played cello many years ago but I had to drop it... Now, listening to this I just want to start again! That was impressive and so beautifl. Amazing guys.
me: umm when is the base supposed to drop- (base drops) OH MY *GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
Brooklyn Duo I think this would fit amazingly in westworld. One of my favorite pieces from the soundtrack was radiohead cover "motion picture soundtrack" by the vitament quartet.
Love watching each musician's face respond to and interpret the music: now lyrical and joyful, now quiet and cautious, now ambitious and serious, now just at peace. What a performance.
I've listened to a lot of covers for this song. This one feels like its one of the few that understands the importance of deafening silence within the original song. Every instrument here feels like it's actually "breathing" out the lyrics (besides the actual musicians themselves breathing, haha). This cover is the closest to what Imogen originally envisioned for the song but also beautifully expands on the original's ideas.
the "you don't care a bit, no, no" parts at the end made so many tears well up in my eyes. I discovered this video about 3 years ago and am still amazed by it every time
A rich and gorgeous spellbinding interpretation of this piece. I found myself grateful for the pauses and refrains so my emotions would catch up. Splendid work ladies and gentlemen!
Props to the pianist. She was really on point and I'd love to see more of her. I know how hard it is to keep time through all of that. Much love and respect.
Do not get me wrong. This will not work without everyone playing to perfection. But by god at 3:24 the Cello at the center of your screen is magical. The loudest and maybe most important. They all do their job perfectly though. Beautiful work to this entire group.
I've watched this at least 10 times and still find something I didn't hear the previous view. Y'all have taken my top spot that Kronos Quartet has held for YEARS. I tip my hat to all four of you. Brooklyn Duo, I'm subscribed to you as well, and your work is unbelievably exceptional. Bravo zulu!
I can't believe I will never experience that build up for the first time ever again
0:08 "Ok seems pretty good so far"

3:15 I Have Entered The Gates of Heaven
3:24 I Have Ascended to Heaven
6:07 *Rewatches video*
great anyway
@@Jedi116 you got a point. They also pretty much died listening to this music after saying their soul ascended to heaven...
3:24 was almost cathartic
Aidan Porter I just found this video and went through the same journey!
Aidan Porter surely stages 4 and 5 are the wrong way round

this guy gets it
To “what you say” I just started crying
This has not happened in a while
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE MADE SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL
3:41 eyes watering again watching the cello player in grey and realizing how many f***king hours of practice it takes, the dedication to play that well, all for what? for musical expression, all for this moment.
Sometimes moments are worth it.
the feeling of expressing yourself musically, or creatively in general, is a euphoric one
This makes me tear up ever time not sure why, makes me think of loved ones gone away and days past but beautiful too.. God bless and help all hurting people.
How I avoided getting chills watching this is a mystery to me. That was excellent .
This is phenomenal. Criminal that it doesn't have more views, damn.

You a CONTENT COP now chris?

I just KNEW there would be plucking the strings at the end! Such a fitting move for that section 👌👌
That was so good!! 👌👌
Thats the best thing ive ever heard. And thats coming from a lifelong musician 😱
Haha! The pizzicato towards the end was a BEAUTIFUL touch. I didn't see it coming. Nice touch indeed.
3:25 mm hmm watcha say?
I was emotional throughout but I burst into tears at the bridge. I cant handle this song in any of its versions
I can think of one😂
Big hug to you. I feel the same
3:25 my ears could not handle such majesty
I can't get over how absolutely crucial every single part of this group is. The coordination required is just insane to me. This could not possibly be better.

Thank you for your comment. From the future. Summed up exactly what I was feeling today. 😢

Goosebumps at 2:05 and on, so damn good.
I wanted to do a very long comment about how I feel about this arrangement and performance but I'll keep it short for now.
Unfathomably perfect, I legitimately cannot mention one thing that could have been done better, completely and utterly perfect in a way I haven't ever heard before.

Magnificent, thank you.
please take my honest respect and sincere gratitude. you've reopened a musical door I thought I'd closed. stunning
i am crying. This is so beautiful
Thank you, Sara!
Arguably the worst moment for me to realize I'd run out of tissues...
@JUSTIN BEIBER Thank you for listening! Check out Dover's version of Barber's Adagio on their own channel. The best. :)
You are all amazing! I just subscribed because this brought me to tears. Keep it up my friends. :)
every version of this song gets me weepy too...as I sit here with wet face
Such a rich sound for a UA-cam video. Bravo to the audio guy in your group.
I cannot properly convey the effect this cover had on my soul.

It was deeply moving. You guys are the best.
The original is one of my favorite songs, and you guys blew this out of the park too
Ugghhh... So beautiful and hypnotizing. Seriously watched this video 5 times already.
I always cry when listening to this version
I have NEVER heard such a beautiful cover of this song. Outstanding performance.
you can always tell when someone likes music when it makes you cry. you guys are really amazing. thanks for being awesome.
Tears started falling from my eyes from the first note. This blows me away.
Incredibly on spot with the emotional way Imogene performs this piece.
Acoustic perfection.
Wow. This level of talent isn't seen on radio or television. A shame that the masses don't get to see what talent is.
I don't really comment on youtube videos but I love to listen to instrumental music when I study and every time this comes up I realise how beautiful music can be. Thank you.
such a masterpiece can translate to all sorts of different forms and instruments, well done
probably the best cover on youtube
A clear example of what the pure art of great musicians can lead to: other great musicians' admiration
MY FAVE QUARTET PLAYING ONE OF MY FAVE SONGS??? HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS EXISTED UNTIL NOW?! AMAZING!!!
I would give my hand for the thesis, that if you let people all over the world listen to this at the same time, no later than 3:24 the world would stand still for a moment. BEST OF THE BEST!
Omg omg omg. No words. None. Just tears.
This lifts my soul.
When they start with ransom notes keep falling out your mouth part I got full body frisson!
I love how every head dips down for that bass drop at 3:25.
It's been years since I've heard a piece of music that gives me full body chills start to finish. This is pure, unadulterated, harmonious perfection 🥺
This is BEAUTIF UL😭😭😭😭😭
Goosebumps doesn't cover it. Someone has said "soul has left body"... yes! ... incredibly powerful and an undeniable beauty that is simultaneously earthly and ethereal.
Usually when I see comments that say "this made me cry" I get cynical and assume it's over exaggeration. Then I watched this, and actually teared up several times. Absolutely beautiful.
Phenomenal work! My soul left my body 3:24 throughout.
I knew it would be that part of the song :P
Facts. My mind went from fortnite to buying insurance and investing into a Roth IRA. For like 20 seconds my life was together...
I'd never thought it'd be possible to transcribe this piece into anything other than Imogen Heap's voice and her electronics. Wow!
So excited for you guys to see this one. Working with Dover is such a dream! They are the nicest and most talented people ever. Don't miss their performance of Smetana's "From My Life" Quartet over on Brooklyn Classical. (While you're at it, you should just watch all their other videos on UA-cam.) SEAND MY LOVE please!!!!
Omg you're from Break of Reality?!?!?!........
Were can i get this song without your talking in the end. Don't get me wrong here but i love the song and dont want to always skip the ending of your talk.
is there an itunes version of this for purchase somewhere?
Brooklyn Duo I love this song, and y'all covered it so amazingly! 💕 So beautiful I wish I could listen to it on loop while I fall asleep.
It’s memorizing watching you guys sway to the music, you can tell they really love what they are doing! The song it absolutely beautiful!
very well done. thank you. amazing. especially with the chello. gorgeous.
Wow. Just wow
I don't know how you can get thru a performance without weeping.. one of my favorites too, from the very first phrase
Shakes McTremens you can cry while playing a stringed instrument. It helps with the vibrato.
The most beautiful rendition of this song i have ever heard.
How are they not weeping at the beauty that they are creating?
Absolutely gorgeous.
3:20 when it hits THAT part, my soul ✨flew✨
I am a 54 year old man who has never cried as a result of listening to a song. Until today.
Omg my body! I literally have the chills…. Everywhere!!!! My eyes are watered ….. trying to literally control the urge to cry…. This is beyond breathtaking….. 🥹🥹🥹🥹👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍😍😍😍😍😍
just.... bravo. That first "hide and seek" was just.... it needs to be in a movie
I used to ear this song long time ago, and I don't know how I get here, but I'm crying right now, listen to this version makes me remember how I used to feel that days and it's beautiful, so thank you for this treasure.
I am crying. This is the most beautiful arrangement of this song I have ever heard.
Where can I buy it?
There is truly something special about a channel that can make you subscribe mere seconds into the first video you've ever seen of them. I have no clue what else is on this channel but I'm about to revel in every piece of it. Amazing.

Was waiting for the bass drop at 3.24. Hahahaha. Soo cool
me: umm when is the base supposed to drop-
(base drops)
OH MY *GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
I didn't know how anyone could've made the original song better. But you guys somehow did that, and then some. Amazing.
I cannot describe this with words.
Wow this should be used in a movie soundtrack or something. Very emotional and dramatic. ❤❤❤
That would be a dream come true! ❤️
Brooklyn Duo I think this would fit amazingly in westworld. One of my favorite pieces from the soundtrack was radiohead cover "motion picture soundtrack" by the vitament quartet.
Someone call Shondaland, this needs to be on Bridgerton!
Stunning
I love how much eye contact plays a part in communication with these guys
Goosebumps. Amazing.
Love watching each musician's face respond to and interpret the music: now lyrical and joyful, now quiet and cautious, now ambitious and serious, now just at peace. What a performance.
Brilliant!

Absolutely beautiful heart touching... people who thumb down this have no taste for art or are simply deaf.
Is this real? It's far too incredible. Moved almost to tears by the spectacular nature of this video!
You all captured the "the sweeping insensitivity of this, still life" part of the song to a T!! That was special
the "you don't care a bit, no, no" parts at the end made so many tears well up in my eyes. I discovered this video about 3 years ago and am still amazed by it every time
Omg I love this! I used to listen to this song when I was deployed in Iraq. Brings back great memories. Love u guys
It´s a dream. No words.
I really love how many varied covers there are of this song on UA-cam
eyes watering at 1:35 from the insane softness and delicacy of bow strokes, what beautiful reality would be the world that this music describes.
Do not get me wrong. This will not work without everyone playing to perfection. But by god at 3:24 the Cello at the center of your screen is magical. The loudest and maybe most important. They all do their job perfectly though. Beautiful work to this entire group.
fallen in love with this song again recently...and now I think I love it even more. You made that so beautiful, thank you
This recording was flawless. Amazing playing and cohesion.
❤️
I'm literally crying!
my soul feels so good when I listen to this. Feels like I can fly.
you can ..
I get chills at that drop every single time, no matter how many times I listen.
Magical!
How appropriate that I should find this now when my heart needed a soundtrack the most. Beautifully done!!!
This is the most beautiful version of this song I’ve ever heard. It brought a tear to my eyes.
I'm not crying, you are!
I legitimately got goosebumps at the "ooh what'd she say?" So powerful, so beautiful.
Bravo zulu!
Holy mother of God that was awesome !!!
I don't think I've ever had the chills throughout an entire song ever until just now
Wow. I forgot my body on earth. Such a heavenly music. Feels like I'm in the vastness of the universe
