My nephew was in purgatory... wanted to stay in purgatory to be close to us but we successfully convinced as a family for him to 'cross over'. Nothing was burning there... but the prayer for the deceased helps light their way, and helps the deceased move on especially the ones who keep on crying in the dark.

No Jesus did not forget. It's in the Bible. There is a purgatory. If one doesn't make it there, they went straight to heaven or straight to hell.
